Thank you for giving so much information on keikis and how to remove them. So now I will go ahead and remove them from my dendrobium and let’s see what happens this spring. I also didn’t realise I wasn’t supposed to water it through the winter!

you are trying to make the keiki look for water , this makes it set roots . But you must still be watching it depending on your environment . If the canes start to shrivel then of course you have to start watering 👍

I thought this monster is a Den. chrysotoxum var. oculatum which I have 'a lot' smaller.
Dendrobiums and their keikis... a challenge of its own. I tend to remove them when they almost drop off of their own. Some are real keiki machines.
Once a well-reputed German vendor sent me a huge, loose in the pot Den. findleyanum. This was No.1. No. 2 from another vendor, 5 sep. stams in a pot. The remaining biggest one even flowered, didn't produce keikis but branches, without roots.
One of my Nobiles had a single bump with roots, the bump made a flower cluster and then the keiki grew. Many regards!

No this is without a doubt D.fimbriatum the pseudobulbs are quite different to the chrysotoxum and the flowers have the distinct 'frill' on the edge of the lip .
and yes 💯 dendrobiums can keep us on our toes with their keiki production 🤣
I love findleyanum just for the shape of their pseudobulbs and sometimes the 'branches' need to be removed before they start to produce roots and in the rare occasion it struggles to a little keiki paste gives it the boost .
It is wonderful to have another Den fanatic here .. 🫂💕
      thanks for sharing
