Brandon Li that covered everything i knew and more. i respect u sir.. Sir because i learn from u and am improving day by day watching ur videos. we want more filmmaking videos frequently. ❤️
It might sound simple, but when panning isolate and rotate at the hips. Then start your shot with your body twisted and let it naturally come back to the neutral position (facing forward with knees and hips squared-up). Often times untwisting is a smoother movement than twisting 'into' to movement (if that makes sense.)
Maybe the best youtube video that really shows how to shoot with "just" an iphone. Other videos claim to show you how to shoot cinematic video using your iPhone and then a gimbal and expensive lenses and paid apps start to show up. This man is amazing ❤️ just the iphone and the native app
@@dhiyow9775 :) brandon is always freakin amazing Im always inspired by his work most of my videos are brandon li's inspired but I don't have IBIS in my body like brandon does 😅
If I had watched an edit of all of those shots prior to knowing how they were achieved, you could not have convinced me that it was a handheld iPhone... Not only was the stabilization fantastic, but the image quality was also impressive!
One thing i like most is that he mention iphone. Lots of other creators making click bait title saying they can do it with any smartphone, turns out in the video they use the latest iphone. My phone does not have a stabilizer(cheap stupid phone) , so i go with gimbal. Good work brandon.
what the hell! man! you have a hand of a gimbal.. this is the best tutorial ive seen in my entire youtube career. straight to the point. no nonsense talks. all actions and sensible tips. they say the best camera is the one in ur pocket. 1 million thumbs up man. ur new subscriber here!
Wow!! unbelievable "One -Nimman" in Chiang Mai Thailand, the location you film looks more beautiful and more interesting and attractive than I have ever seen.
This's a great instruction ever, practical and simply based on an economical reason. Many smartphone users might have overlooked the fact that there could make a thing worth out of what they have instead of buying an expensive gimbal. Your movement is literally smoother than using a gimbal. And the location in your demonstration video is The One Nimman in Chiangmai. Very nice place.
I like your videos because you keep it simple and practical. You don’t try to sell us on gear and you find solutions. As a mobile filmmaker, minimal fear is key and phones are becoming better each year with features

I pharkn love how you have a tendency to go against the grain in the way you capture the world around us ..With many content creators there seems to be this cookie cutter system going on trying to influence other potential videographers ..but ...you only see a 1 minute segment of something they have stitched together and a ton of advice to be the next big youtuber and because I love to go against the flow myself just generally in life the value you give in the realm of videography/cinematography holds weight in my eyes and appreciate the knowledge you bring to the table ...Im just a hack in regards to video and photography but I definitely know what moves me, and your material doe's that ...pharkn magic!
OMG! I'm so thrilled that I get to see your video. Thank you so much! I've just started my channel and have no budget to buy those expensive stabilizers. Your video is truly informative and helpful. Thank you very much. I subscribed and willing to know more about your skills! Thank you and more power.
Great timing since my vlogging camera was ruined on a boat shoot. My iPhone being my backup camera I am learning as much as I can about its capabilities. Thanks a million!

Brandon you don’t know how much I want to thank you! I’ll use these tips for my next travel video when I’m using my iPhone. I wish I knew these tips before making Philippines video ( please check it out if you have time) and sometimes whipping out the phone is much faster and convenient, than manually setting up filmic pro, especially in spontaneous situations. Love from NZ🇳🇿
Any other tips for smooth moves with a smartphone?

As a tai chi teacher, I'd like to think practicing tai chi can help 😂

Shooting at 60fps and slow it to 24fps massively improves stabilization. Also used zhiyun smooth q2 gimbal which is pocket sized

Q: Why don't you use a gimbal?
A: I am a gimbal
Oh...
Stephen I’m convinced he has servo motors and his ankles knees elbows and wrists LOL
Best answer hahaha
underrated comment
Who wants to see an entire short film made by Brandon with iPhone only?
Me
Marco Battocchia he should also edit on iPad, a full portable setup. Air drop and all!

Absolutely me
He's starting to turn into a gimbal.
He's always been a ninja like that?... i think that is how i first learned about him a few years ago b/c of these skills he masterfully demonstrated
Lol

Who needs a gimbal when you're actually a gimbal
Hollywood (or Apple) should make a movie: Brandon Gimbalbody.
Noone!😂
When you are a gimbal, you are not watching the road.....
Not only the moves are incredibly smooth, the image quality is outstanding as well.
Maybe the best youtube video that really shows how to shoot with "just" an iphone. Other videos claim to show you how to shoot cinematic video using your iPhone and then a gimbal and expensive lenses and paid apps start to show up.

Wow nice tips! I can't wait until phones have stabilization like insta360 go
iPhone main 1x camera is almost as good
Brandon Li: *turn into a gimbal*
His girlfriend: *become a tripod*
#Respect
Brandon Li: Gimbal killer ... btw, that walking forward with phone pointing backward tip was great.
Allen Reid Oh my God dude I’m gonna try that literally the next time I shoot it’s absolutely genius
Reversing the footage when appropriate,OFTEN, is even easier IMO.
Those facial expressions are a must. Helps with stabilization. Found myself doing this a lot too. 🙏🏽
SeventySeven Stories Yeah man you got to have your ninja face going while you’re trying to be stable
Of course! Compressing all your body, the ass and the face xd helps with stabilization

Lmao
Miko Tiotangco your videos are great too!
Brandon, you are an absolute god when it comes to stabilisation, with or without a gimbal it's always so smoth!
Don’t get fooled when he said he’s shooting handheld cause he got 3 axis stabilizer build in his hands.
So true :)
maybe an IBIS in his body ;)
Human body is already a stabilization machine. Just gotta practice

The biggest value of this video is how you actually hold your iPhone. I’ve seen different tips, but your method really works. Thanks for sharing!
Goes to show, gear doesn't make good content good! My man just shot this entire video from two iPhones and an Insta360 Go! Incredible.
Where were you man..... Just saw this video and it was awesome.... The way u taught all the moves... Hats off
best guide on phone w/o gimbal...lots of hands-on !!
SKill level is God's level! stunning shots!
Great tips!
What do you do about focus? I noticed your shots didn't have any drastic focus changes even when you had a model in the shot. Thanks!
With the camera app you lock focus and exposure together. That’s the only way. Everything is basically in focus anyway because it’s a phone
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Makes sense. So you lock your exposure and focus on something far and bright and you're good to go. Thanks!
@ I'm aware of that, but there's still some focus shifting happening hence his technique.
REAL SMOOTH ITS INCREDIBLE
