    After 4:59. I forgot to mention something major, I wrote it down when I made this video but I completely skipped over it for some reason.
    Basim acquires a blood sample to share with William Miles, enabling him to establish a DNA sequencing procedure in the present. This allows Basim to utilize the Animus to revisit a specific time period and relive the memories of the original individual. This particular scene lays the groundwork for the events that unfold in Assassin's Creed Mirage.

    Ubisoft strategy is so good. With this they draw the assassins valhalla audience, to give context to Basim's story, also the public for being a game that refers to the original franchise.

    I don't think the isu are LITERALY norse gods. More likely they are manifesting in a way that Eivor can more easily understand. He/She sees them as gods and they present themselves as such to better manipulate and/or relate themselves to mortals. The animus could be reskinning them as well. To Basim, Loki is Djiin who is a trickster entity from his own faith.

    honestly i don't think that Basim reliving his own memory make sense, in the end of Valhalla when Basim take his blood and start to scan his DNA he said something about showing what he know to william miles, probably something much more related to the assassin's than the ISU, my theory is that William himself will dive in the animus to explore those memories

  • @alinpetrescu2309
    @alinpetrescu2309 Рік тому +1

    Great video, you summarized Basim's story pretty well and you did it with the perfect video length, I enjoyed watching it. I would like to make a slight correction: Loki doesn't possess Basim's body; they are not two separate beings. Darby, one of the lead writers for Valhalla, who worked on Revelations, Black Flag and a little bit on Origins, confirmed on Twitter that Sages (inlcuding the Norse ones that we meet in Valhalla) are reincarnations of those Isu beings.
    The thing is, a Sage has the choice of exploring those old memories or ignore them. Basim was curious by nature, so he explored and accepted those old memories that he had in a past life, when he was called Loki and the Isu were the dominant species on Earth (same with Sigurd, whom we see for almost the entire length of the story searching for answers regarding his "divinity"... He was simply attempting to unlock his old memories, from when he was Tyr). Another example of this would be Germain from Unity.
    An example of a Sage that fought back those memories and rejected them (at least initially) is Eivor. Those fights that we see in Valhalla between Eivor and Odin are simply representations of the internal conflict within the same mind, between two different sets of memories. We find out later that Eivor managed to find a way to blend the two memory streams without being completely transformed into the same Odin that she (he?) was in the past.
    So yes, this take on the lore requires a bit more exploration and clarification from Ubisoft's writing team, but I think they did a pretty good job with Valhalla when it comes to the lore (if nothing else), because they made it interesting again. Now we have the posibility of the Isu coming back in a real, threatening way, so it isn't just Abstergo to worry about in the modern day, but what's left of the Instruments of the First Will as well, who want the Isu to rule the Earth once more.
    Sad to hear that Mirage won't have much modern day context, but it is what it is, I guess the writers don't want to mess up what Darby and his team of writers came up with for future games in the series.

    I don't like what they did to the whole Isu story. I mean, what it originally was is: Mythological Gods are actually just earlier and more advanced human-like people. Humans just forgot about it and misconcepted them to be gods.
    Now this new approach kinda turns that around by 180°. I mean, I just can't see how an Isu in the original sense would have a giant wolf as his child. Just doesn't make sense unless they ARE actual gods and it is just a mythology game at that point.

Much less side content and the dlcs. Regardless of little you reveal or how quickly how am I supposed to know or trust there's not more when it's 2 minutes into a video. Again I watch you because I appreciate your content but people still don't reveal even spoilers for Origins because it's respected as a "good game" and it is but Odysssey and Valhalla just aren't respected. Yeah sure I carry blame for my completionism that is on me. But again a speedrun is the same length as most games are long in general full length play. We don't even know if the link to loki is a part of Mirage yet. I saw another comment saying maybe is a Djinn which is a cool idea but we don't know if it's even addressed and if so probably not until later on in Mirages story.
