  • Summary:
    Windy weather and big swells chased us to Pokai Bay on this weekend of fishing. Decided to try some new things to add some diversity to the channel. In this vid we dusted off the deep drop gear and tried to target some deep 7 species. By the end of the day we had a diverse catch, quite different than the normal bag of pelagics. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!
    I don’t really aim to make money on the merchandise, it’s more to just have something for anyone who would like a shirt, mug, etc. Check it out on TeePublic at tee.pub/lic/pnZ...

    Hafa Adai! Awesome video and catch! None stopped action and enjoyed watching. Question, when you bottom fish with live bait, how far down do you let it sit, middle or all the way on the bottom? Don't you get snag when you drift? Mahalo! Watching from Guam.

    • @wheres_d_ahi
      @wheres_d_ahi  8 місяців тому

      Wassup bro! Glad you enjoy and hope you subscribe to catch all the action haha. So it really depends on what you targeting when bottom fishing. If you leave in all the way down, you more apt to catch sharks and ulua. If you keep it more like 1/4-1/3 of the water column, you can catch more uku (grey snapper/jobfish). So if I’m sitting in like 200ft of water, I usually have the lead down at around 150-175ft or so and one like freelined.

      Yeah I gotta say, gindai are pretty damn delicious. I’m not that into the lack of deep dropping productivity, but gindai and ehu (and others) definitely make it worthwhile.
