Yes Kate Higgins played Barbie in Life in the Dreamhouse. She also provided audio for some parts of the Barbie website at some point.
I initially thought she was replaced with Karen Strassman and I apologize for getting that wrong in my comment regarding into what caused the reboot.

My childhood was luckily the original Monster High and not the crappy reboot that I hated with a burning passion since the day I saw it.

The reboot tbh isn't so terrible to the point it's unbearable, but I still prefer the older movies that came out when I was younger. I still love watching Fright On and I hope I can get a new DVD of it since the other one broke (7-year-old me did not take very good care of her DVDs ;-;)
I think all of us og fans have a soft spot for why do ghouls fall in love🥰 I saw it so many times and is the one movie i can still remember despite not being active within the fandom for years
Yeah, I agree with you. When I watched that film 5 years ago (that movie doesn't have any translation or dub in my native language that's why I watched it like 5 years ago). I fell in love with cupid and wished to get her doll.

Draculaura became a popular doll throughout the years
Then clawdeen randomly. I get that Dracula was popular, but why clawdeen? I have a theory that it’s for “racial support”, but there were plenty of ways to show that like they did. Draculaura was played by an Asian and Frankie was non-binary (which makes sense since they’re built up of more than one gender)
13 Wishes was by far my favourite as a kid. Even though I was scared of Whisp. 😂

Idk I feel like Boo York was a little deep, with Seth or Pharaohs mother being so controlling and how he was literally going to give up something that actually made him happy up because of how afraid he was of standing up to his mother who literally had so much control over him. You can tell in the movie when he talks he almost sounds like a robot, he sounds so unhappy. I feel like the message is that one you can’t control your children and two, if it makes you happy then do it, stand up for your happiness and not just to please everybody (this applies to Cleo too)
👏🏻 I applaud you. While the MH movies are mostly lighthearted, there is (almost) always a deeper meaning or message. Like parents who don’t listen to what their kids want to do with their life and try to decide for them, or putting on a façade of being someone else to please a crowd but not knowing how that actually feels in your heart (like Catty) I feel like the reason these 2 characters got along so well (and the reason most of us ship the crap out of them) is because while they aren’t going through exactly the same thing, they can still relate to a measurable extent. I’m glad they didn’t make the ending of the movie having them kiss or something that would feel rushed. Their scenes together were perfect. And while they didn’t make their relationship a “romance”, so to speak, it is hinted at in the end when Pharaoh and his mom are finally agreeing, she sees Catty in the background over his shoulder and smirks a bit as if she knows, is enough for me. I would like to add more, but I’ll give you a chance to finish reading this first. Thank you for your time.

Yeah and I know Neferia is supposed to be mean but her and her dad were just straight up EVIL in that movie they made Cleo and Deuce break up all because of a little bit of power jeez
Besides Seth and Catty I love the crap out of Porter and Spectra I still think they are canon and even though Spectra did kiss Porter it was just a cheek kiss not a make out session s

The creator acutally planned that movie. There are animatics about it on official youtube channel Monster High, but they never make it.

If there was a season in Ever After High revolving around the children of the Peter Pan characters, I would think Astronova would be the daughter of the Second Star on the Right

Honestly Skull Shores has an incredibly dark plot point. With how it keeps getting mentioned that Frankie is the spitting image of that scientist girl. I think that heavily implies that the scientists girl body- or at least parts of it like her head, were used to make Frankie. That's so interesting, and honestly I kind of wish they would've dove into it more.
Yeah it’s literally mentioned right at the beginning of the first book but it took them so long to even mention her origin story

Okay, if we’re being honest here, the duo that is Jekyll/Hyde captures my heart and imagination like no other guy, fictional or real. I’m a little ashamed to admit it, but even now my heart flutters just thinking about them. While I’m more fond of Jackson than I am Hyde, their duality and existence within the MH world was a concept that I greedily ate. To give you a picture of how unhealthily obsessed I was with them: I read the MH books back to back about 5 times JUST for Jekyll/Hyde, I replayed ALL of the webisodes and movie scenes in which Jackson/Holt were present, I cried when I got a Jackson doll AND, the icing on the cake, I took the liberty of reading the original text that Jekyll/Hyde is based off.
‘‘Twas quite an adventure...all of this, from a doll franchise. Monster High will forever hold a special place in my heart, and that’s selfishly thanks to 2 special guys who still continue to make me fall head over heels years after the franchise’s “demise.”
The fact that they became background characters and barely used after that still makes me mad
@@S33rofv0id and like the love triangle episode in the webisodes and that whole mini plot of the series leading up to spectra being revealed and stuff we could’ve had monster high’s first poly couple with Jackson/Holt and Frankie. There are two reasons why we possibly didn’t get it.
1. Mattel was probably not gonna allow a poly couple in the series seeing how they didn’t let the people explicitly make clawdeen valentine and possibly neighthon and kyomi lgbt
2. In the diaries Jackson and Holt are brothers and they probably didn’t want to feel weird making two brothers fall for the same girl and eventually be in the relationship even though platonic brotherly love exists
Dude yessss it was Jackson and Holt that got me here, and Sparky (Victor Frankenstein, aka Frankie's grandfather) who kept me here. Mostly I was surprised to see my favourite books in stuff for little kids, even though I used to watch this stuff as a kid. Back then I guess I didn't notice BC I wasn't the creepy dude I am now lol
When I just watched Monster High I really thought Jekyll/Hyde were fun dudes. Then I read the books and suddenly they were the main characters. Which I LOVED. I still read the books from time to time. And Jekyll/Hyde always make me smile.

The older movies just had a more hard hitting message for us. Monster high is giving the “monsters of society” a voice and a place to feel understood. Ghouls rule really hit different for me and I don’t think any of the new moves can make me feel as connected as the old ones.

I’ve seen all of the movies, my favorites are Friday Night Frights and then Freaky Fusion, purely because of Robecca. She was a character I could really relate to, between not having a brain that worked like other kids’ or physical disadvantages. She’s precious, we need more wholesome Robecca in our lives.
I love how monster high movies focused on a different character each movie, even though Frankie is the main character frights camera action was all about draculaura, scarrier reef was all about lagoona, and ect

Can I just say you're mom is a beautiful person, Inside and out. I've never seen deformities as deformities, but as a way to identify. She sounds like a great mom. Also I have to agree the older movies gave off the more Monster high vibe than the reboot releases
Did you know that they have a monster high special that wasn’t aired in America? It’s called From Fear to Eternity.
Yes! It was part of the Scaris City of Frights movie - when Monster High was available on Netflix, they included it in the special but that was the only way Universal aired it in the US 😭

i wake up and boom im a rat it was just about how they got back home from Scaris, Clawdeen’s design book came to life and they were chasing it around the world.
I never understood why Deuce doesn't look similar to Viperine, their mothers are sisters so they're cousins but Deuce doesn't have the fangs or the scales that Viperine has. The only similarity is that both of them have that scale "tattoo" in their color scheme (Viperine has it on her forehead and Deuce on his arm)
Because one of the sisters was different than the others since she was "cursed" : )
It’s actually because Deuces dad is a normie so he is only part monster. that is probably why he invited Jackson to sit with him and Heath on his first day because he is part normie and isn’t going to be rude to another normie.

The animation in movies today is just constantly exquisite- but the og movies will forever be no.1 for me. Such powerful messages, character development and aesthetically pleasing visuals! And, to quote Clawdeena, 10/10 would recommend
13 Wishes being first feels *correct* . I wish they would’ve made more movies like the Power Ghouls , Sweet Screams themed or even a fairy themed one (not garden ghouls lol)

I remember drawing and imaging a sweet screams movie lol. It was about Draculaura, who had a bad day and was feeling down. Ghoulia decided to test a technic to teleport ppl in their heads and they sent a few people tjere. They turn to the sweet scream outfits, and fought some treat inspired evil things and they find the way to fix Draculauras bad day. Then when they come back, they find out that it actually happened irl. They had the same outfits, and they were all the same as in Draculauras mind. They find out, that they need to earn a special candy to frighten up Draculauras day. They needed to do different activities in order to earn it. After trying everything, they get the treat from a golf match with Hoodoo and deuce, and they get themselves back and frighten Draculauras day up. Lol i was 9 at the time :D

I’ve always wondered why the ghouls can just change their hair color and length on a whim, like in Skulltimate roller maze when they change into their uniforms. Dracula goes from hair down to her waist to a bob, then back to her waist.

I've definitely always had a soft spot for Clawd Wolf, he's my favorite Manster 🥺 I love how in why do ghouls fall in love he tries his best to give Draculaura a great birthday party, and he clearly loves her a lot!! I'm really sad they got rid of him in the reboot :( Some close seconds are definitely Kieran Valentine (I HAD THE BIGGEST CRUSH ON HIM- and his diary and redemption was so good!!!) and Pharoah! (His rapping skills are GODLY, and him and catty are the best duo)

Still mad Pharaoh never got a doll... just me? Granted I don’t think Andy Beast got one either, but like, the gentlemonsters I don’t think have many dolls, which I get, but still. It’s a bit upsetting that I can’t have all my ghouls hang with their boos or can’t make dumb jokes with a Frankie doll that she basically has a harem of men.
I also wish Pharoah got a doll, tbh as much as I love Andy, I prefer Pharoah as a doll over Andy. I know he was originally planned to be a doll but got dropped early in production unfortunately.

Honey. Why do Ghouls Fall in Love? deserves its spot. To this day girls have their fav celeb crushes or those Tik Tok boys with the pretty eyes that they feel like they could marry on the spot. But this movie(even though it came out years before tik tok) reminds us that they're just boys on a screen. They aren't as perfect as they seem, or else why would they hide behind a screen. Anyways, although there are some movies I personally would've swapped places with, this was a good review and it was nice to hear your POV too.
The original art style and story of MH really hits harder tho...

Okay, well, I'ma admit it, I've had a thing for a lot of the MH Mansters. Jackson Jekyll and Holt Hyde and their eccentric attitude/edgy style were EVERYTHING to me.
Porter Geist and his "bad boy" attitude held a special place in my heart.
Deuce was just so cool and chill, and even though he could've had any other girl, he stayed with Cleo's dramatic ass, I LIVED for it.
But for the ones I *REALLY REALLY* fancied, I've always had a thing for Neighthan and Valentine. Neighthan was so chill and sweet, and I always thought the Zombie + Unicorn hybrid was so hot, like a creepy/cute mashup. Then Valentine, OOF, I've always felt his insecurity and how he let that control him, hence why he kept breaking hearts, so relatable. Then his style, fancy and he wore pink, I LIVED for that. AND Valentine's voice just did something to me, I don't know why, but it did and still does.
BUT, that being said, my number one Manster will ALWAYS be Pharaoh, Catty's love interest from 'Boo York'. He could rap/he had a great voice, he was energetic, loyal to Catty, his style was effing tight, I lived for him and always will, periodt. 💅
And, I think all of us Monster High fans have a soft spot for 'Why Do Ghouls Fall In Love'. It was definitely one of the most memorable movies, and EVERYBODY had some sort of thing for Valentine (including me, lol), he was definitely one of my favorite MH "villains" along with Whisp.
Also the fact that Valentine and Whisp became bffs!!!! I love that for my two favorite villians

Even though it's sad that monster high got rebooted I'd say that if you watch the new show you'll get used to it and find that it isn't too bad especially when they have a lot of the original Voice actors

My favorite manster is Kieran Valentine. The coding in his diary just really spoke to me as a closeted man myself. He did things he thought would make him happy or what he thought was love. It doesn't justify what he did but he tried to be better later on. I wish they could have done more with him.

Boo York boo York was such a good movie. It had great songs and great fashion! My fav monster high movies are boo York boo York and 13 wishes or something like that. I also owned the lagoon movie ( I forgot what it’s called ). Btw that host movie terrified me.
