Would love so see a high speed run with this kit. Still debating on if it’s worth it. Never had any major cornering issues with my xmaxx. On this Maxx, this is a mandatory purchase.
I wouldnt consider this one as crucial as the maxx widekit but it does make you like the xmaxx more... hahaha
HOLE! That’s the RC version of a dog saying Squirrel! I say that because I take my RC’s out in an area that has some pretty gnarly squirrel holes & will damage them so I have to be on high alert because you can’t see them. Wider is better seems to be the way. I have a Windigo & any body knows stock it loved to flip over I used wheel extenders & some nice wide wheels & tires & it made a huge difference overall.
The posture you’re standing in wile working on the XMAXX makes my back hurt for you🤣

Slash doesn’t need a wide body I tried my dads new slash and it’s really hard to flip over. Most of the Time you just lose grip but don’t roll over

Longer arms will only do small changes in driving. What Traxxas need to do is make a coilover for their vehicles that has adjustable high and low speed compression and rebound adjustable. This enables possible different combinations for style of driving and tuning.

I wonder how its gonna hold up during the crashes, I broke stock arms quite a bit so the longer must be worse as far as durability goes? Would love to see some bashing to see.
my gut is telling me it will be worse for bashing, more chance of catching a tire and more leverage on the inner part of the arm after landing jumps off center or cartwheels. I just got an Xmaxx last week and broke a stock arm, I think I am going to go with RPM arms with the threaded pins. I felt like the truck stock was fairly stable and balanced.

@@Jobro_Ya_Know that's good to know I might buy the kit, local store didn't have stock arms I bought a set of aluminum but I don't think I'm going to install them I broke the upper rear bulkhead need to order that part I talked to people who ran rpm arms and several told me they are cracking seems like traxxas heavy duty arms are the best option for replacements or the wide Maxx kit
@@davidbrennan5 yeah I haven’t tried the rpm ones. I wouldn’t go with the aluminum ones they bend a lot. I beat on the xmaxx quite a bit. I have had a couple bad landings but not enough to say they are indestructible. Good buy I think the handling alone is worth it. Seems to jump better too.

Now I know you are a professional driver so when You land you land smoothly normally. But with both mini maxx and xmaxx do you feel not landing prefect and smooth the arms have a higher chance of snapping more ?

Ive change my widemaxx Maxx Solar Flare tyres with Louise MFT 1/8 ST-Pioneer TIRE 17MM, and result more stable and really become RC Monster.. handling almost similar to Xmaxx... please try it bro..

Just saying, if u replace the shock oil to 40wt,and adjist the spring collars, the thing will have very very little bodyroll, i have badlands on my xmaxx with the widemaxx kit, and on tarmac, u can half throttle the truck and turn and it wont flip, it just slides and become a drift car, how sick is that lol
For the $1k price I wish the Xmaxx already came with the widemax kit to be honest, kind of like the Maxx v2.
You aint lying lol. My local shop told me 1500 extra batteries, chargers etc. 1k for the truck only 🤷♂️
It probably will never come with the wide kit because not everyone will want it. So unless there is 2 versions available, you'll only see the stock version with an option to upgrade like we see right now.

Hey Mark, little bit of an off topic question but i was wondering which tires would you recommend for bashing the xmaxx? trenchers or sledghammers?
Little bit of a late reply but if you haven’t already figured out. Trenchers are just about the worst option anyone could think of for bashing. They weigh almost a whole pound and a half more per tire than the stock ones. Sledgehammers are what I am using and I have only blown a tire once with a castle system

With all the batteries you charge I'm surprised you don't have a charging station. I see horror vids of batteries exploding or catching fire. I've been debating a battery box myself...
I've never had a Traxxas battery give me any problems ever. However, the lesser known brands all have caught fire eventually. I kept all my Traxxas vehicles using Traxxas batteries and chargers and I monitor everything from my phone while charging. It's the best setup ever. No other aftermarket company can match Traxxas' research and development.

Why not? Isn´t it a Killer deal for 10 plastic parts, 4 springs and 4 drive shafts?! ;) Here over in Germany they even want 200€ (Compared to the US 199$ it schould be more in the range of 177€.)
I bought the kit and installed it but now it seems it need a huge area to turn when driving, and standing still on short grass wheels barely turn, so question is my servo dead if yes is the upgrade version from traxxas worth it or should i buy something els Plex help
Just recently did the wide kit on mine and it definitely makes the turning radius worse. Pass on the traxxas servo they are slow and there are so many better options for the same price.

Hey Mark. Have you come across any solutions for the pinion and spur stripping and/or coming lose issues? Can’t get through one set of packs without them stripping. Running the high speed pinion.
Them stripping can but bad gear mesh or bad gears. Check gear mesh I set my manually and havnt stripped a gear in a year. I had a issue with the pinion coming lose I wiped down motor shaft with degreaser then used some blue loctite on the grub screw let it sit for atleast 24hrs
