she was ahead of her time (kind of unfortunately). In the 80's there was not much space for female action protagonists. If she was on he prime today, she would be huge, as not only she is very skilled martial artists, but she is stunning beatiful and can act. She would easily land a role on some marvel movie, perhaps as black widow, o even dc wonder woman and such.

Aint trying to be wok but thats just reality of Hollywood. Its hard enough to be a female actress without sleeping with the producers but it is harder to be a known actress doing a thing that usually considered a dude thing to do like martial arts. Michelle Yeoh peformed many action martial art movies in the 80's and 90's and yet most people only know her in Couching tiger and recently Everything Everywhere all at Once. It is really hard to break through. Unless you a really great actor, being a soley martial art movie star is hard as a women

Other than Ms. Rothrock and...maybe Sigourney Weaver & Michelle Yeoh, who all else would be in that movie to make it a box office draw? Ronda Rousey couldn't draw in many viewers to an actual Expendables movie. And with all due respect to Ms. Rothrock, she's the very definition of a B to C movie actress. Were any of her movies ever in theaters?

The former didn't take off (unfortunately) after Rocky IV. Particularly with the weird Masters of the Universe movie after which he was doing mostly B movies. And as for Norris, he also fell off the radar after Walker Texas Ranger and he got revived by the 2000s Chuck Norris Facts.

As much as she has contributed to the action movie scene, and achieved in martial arts, It kills me that this woman never really made it to the major movie scene over the yrs. I mean, how kick ass would it be to have her in the expendables?

Michelle is from China and martial arts runs in her family so I'm sure she has been in the martial arts since a child. Cynthia is 5-6 years older but you have to give Michelle her credit as a very top notch female martial artist!

No she said herself in a recent interview she has had no formal training in any martial arts but a background in dance, maybe search and find out for yourself. Cynthia is a real deal martial artist and Michelle is not, maybe just a little training for the roles shes played.
