I'm big sad. Been waiting for it since the first video dropped and then a surprise emergency surgery took my gaming funds and now I get to sit at home, out of work, and watch content instead of play D': oh well. At least I'm not dead lol
@deekamikaze Don't worry, it's early access and not much you can do to get through a senario without lots of bugs and bad AI. Very promising, and cool how you can control the fleet assets and the devs are great so far.
Despite being my favourite included scenario you allude in this episode to one of the reasons it’s a little tricky - the straight between Naxos and Paros is too narrow for the SAG to fit through without micromanaging them. One of the super cool things with the game though is you can fix it! I’ll have an altered version up on the workshop of this mission that moves the SAG north so that it is headed between Mykonos and Naxos (along with some other changes which are probably spoilers for part 2 🤫)
Ngl i m watching your videos and i just cant stop(game itself, gameplay and the way you play are just interesting and i know that there is a bunch of people just saying that scenarios are unrealistic but if those were too realistic they would cry because video would be boring) , also thx for posting that big amount of Sea Power content.
It's pretty wild they reactived USS Wisconsin (and her sisters) in the 80s and fitted it with Harpoons and Tomahawks. Must have been quite a sight in a fleet with much more modern ships.
I highly appreciate how many missiles the US navy strapped onto the Iowas. Instead of eight harpoons, you get 16, and you also get plentiful supplies of Tomahawks. It makes the modern Iowa-class the best shore bombardment and long range ASuW vessel the US ever had.
I suspect that jam jam jam is the key to taking out the Soviet battle group. I'd also try having Harpoons coming in from multiple different directions. East and West from the Orion's and south from the fleet. Good hunting, Captain. 😊❤❤❤😊
I hope they add more coastal AShM batteries. WaPact allies were in possession of better launchers than the one ingame, such as the truck-based 4K15 Rubezh armed with the same missiles
The only thing not realistic about this scenario is the belief that the Russians can run away through the Dardanelles and Bosphorus without Turkish or Greek resistance.
They were equipped with helideck facilities and refueling capability but they didn't have hangars. As originally built they were designed to carry floatplanes on the stern but those would have been carried above deck or maybe dismantled in compartments below deck sometimes, not in a proper hangar.
Love the sea power Vids and also since The Hellenic navy mostly used US ships at the time it could be easily represented down the line as a nation or via mods
I can’t wait for some longevity in these scenarios. Something where all your units matter and decisions made matter. Refueling/rearming/resupplying will matter. Not the enemy is in front of your go find them. It’s the enemy is somewhere. Unknown what. Maybe don’t destroy maybe shadow them. But so I send all my hells out knowing they’ll need to refuel do I just dumb uncareingly all my sonobueys. Do I send out a 10 ship of interceptors and all my other carriers planes or should I save some. Cause now all the scenarios are being treated alittle same same.
I agree. There should be a few more limitations. I have tried running larger scenarios (40+ units) but the game doesn't handle that well and FPS drops.
I would turn the Whisky around close to gun range and save a Tomahawk! 16" rds are cheap compared to a RGM109!! and you have lots of em and only a few Tomahawks
It would be nice if they would model the entirety of a missile battery and not just the launcher. Looks like a fun scenario but where is the rest of the air group? There's obviously a carrier around, where's the E-2? I can handle leading with your SEAD but there should also be a flight of A-6s with Mavericks ready to go. And some F-14s on CAP. A carrier in a war situation would never be caught with its pants down.
I must say Stealth, even though you aren't the best at this game (no offence) I really appreciate how you're currently *only* producing Sea Power content! Really hyping everyone up.
"Carrier" Kiev? "Carrier Hunt"?? Comrade you must be mistaken! You must mean the heavy aircraft cruiser Kiev! She is clearly a cruiser! (Please don't apply the Montreux Convention to us, thanks!)
@Stealth17Gaming Don't mean to be a 'stick in the mud', but as others have alluded to... Pretty sure you just ordered WisKy to commit a war crime by shelling the city of Naxos. 😅😬🥴

This game looks amazing but I do have a question. Does anyone know if late Cold War (late ‘80’s/early ‘90’s) ships are in the game? In particular, the Arleigh Burke/Kongo/etc. is a noticeable omission from every preview video I’ve watched so far.
@stealth17 it seems too easy. I don’t understand why the Russian carrier doesn’t send its jets after your ships or use jammers or whatever they have to defend themselves and eliminate you just as you would with them. It seems that either it’s on easy difficulty or the AI in this game is not very smart
The Kiev has a handful of terrible jump jets with mediocre missiles. They're not really good for much outside of bullying patrol aircraft and helicopters, or attempting to engage incoming fighters. AA-8/K-60 is essentially an AIM-9B, R-60M is maybe -9D/E. Kh-23/AS-7 is a lot like Bullpup, short ranged and requiring the pilot to guide the missile in.

It is a tad ridiculous that a 16" shell landing within 50m of an AA battery doesn't reduce it to dust

Well that and the fact that the Soviets were somehow able to install missile batteries on islands owned by Greece (you know a NATO member).
