We’ve had this conversation in ProJared’s Discord many times. Nintendo tends to prefer maximizing gameplay and minimizing story to keep them “evergreen.”
This is an interesting take. Would this be due to stuff like cultural references and outdated mediums? What comes to mind is something like cultural references in a game like Conker's Bad Fur Day that are hilarious but also not something a younger person would know about and something like old unskippabe CGI cutscenes that were prevalent in the 90s and early 2000s.
I'm sure the next two Advanced Wars games will come out afterwards. I guess Nintendo is testing the waters and see if this series is still relevant enough to warrant those two getting a remake. Although I don't even know whether or not the latter two games were critical darlings/financial successes when they came out. If this comment sounds idiotic, let me know.
nintendo's pricing, i feel, is the reason they have been mostly been able to deliver full, quality titles out of the gate without resorting to scummy DLC tactics and still turn a good profit... AKA once people have the expectation that something will drop in price to like 20$ after 6 months a large chunk of your playerbase will wait for that...
Yeah, I can see that. But why is it that some sort of greatest hits or selects from early gen are not eventually discounted? I feel like offering classics that are more than a few years old for something like $30-$40 new wouldn't hurt the quality.
I can tell you put a lot of effort on it, and it’s not easy. Thanks for sharing! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for the kind words!
I just got a Switch and so many games look amazing and I want to get a bunch of them. Advance Wars is looking more and more tempting now 😎
It is a really fun game. Don't play for the story, but there is so much content, and the gameplay is still as fun as ever, especially AW2.

Haha nah, not at all. I think DS was crucially acclaimed and successful, but I think Days of Ruin was much less successful (could be wrong, though).
