Big Takeaway: One condition for managing other people's money is that you should be financially independent. What's the point, you might ask? You're doing it because you love the game, not because you're chasing the prize. It's a very different psychology.

Selling $BABA was a big mistake IMO! It’s one of the best Investments to have. He might have done it for tax purposes and then will re-buy. (Idk) But, Alibaba is solid. Don’t let his selling change your perspective. Mohnish makes mistakes too. In the future we will be watching a video of him talking about his regret selling if he doesn’t buy back.

Solid on what basis? Alibaba isn’t the monopoly in the Chinese network shipping logistics. In 2017, they self proclaimed they were slowing down rapidly. The turmoil that’s going to hit China with all the aggressive military action they’re taking makes a Chinese investment bad. Better to buy when price drops

Thank you so much, Mohnish! Fascinating story for the university endowment investment in Iowa! A tiny correction for the average $ for each student -- $1billion/1000 students= 1 million each, not 10 million.

Love Mohnish’s thinking, sharing, advice etc.,. Just one thing I think he is inconsistent on what companies in his portfolio he discusses. While he generally doesn’t like to talk about existing holdings, he has spoken at length about the Turkish warehouse company in almost all videos, spoken about Rain industries, GM etc but doesn’t like to discuss Alibaba. Anyway that was just an observation. Huge respect for Mohnish. I always watch his video as soon as they appear in my feed- 1st day 1st show 😀

@@omarpetrillo9389 no idea cause it could be a few things. However, at BABA’s current price I think the upside to it’s intrinsic value is significant. So if he really did sell 😅 he must’ve either had a big change in his valuation of Alibaba (in which case I’m curious to know) or he just managed to find something much better, but then why sell BABA instead of the other stocks he is holding 😅

Hi I am an 18 year old high school student who suddently fell in love with educational finance. Is there a way for me to speak to Mr.Pabrai directly or to people who have a lot of knowledge about the stock market? I am not interested in meeting other beginners since almost everyone act irrationally and try to sell their self made formula that they haven't even tried themself or for long with good results. Is there somewhere I can talk to patient investors who are a bit more experienced who would like discuss and share their journey?
