Your spirituality is not determined by the number of spiritual experiences you have, but rather in the magnitude of the exaltation of Christ in your life.

The more I read the Bible, the more spirit filled I am. It has changed my life since I started reading my Bible every morning.

It’s always good to have the Word guide us in all things that pertain to God and not allow emotions to get the best of us. The enemy works through lack of truth as one of many things he does to cause divisions and errors and heresy’s

You can't quench the Holy Spirit by reading the Bible. This is the biggest lie I've ever heard next to Satan tempting Eve. Whenever I read the Bible, the Holy Spirit makes it come to life. He is quenched when we don't study his word. This is how I understand this, anyway.

I'm glad the doctrinal mistakes are mentioned as being potentially found on both charismatic and non-charismatic churches! I would say: the difference might be that in non-charismatic churches, those doctrinal mistakes don't shout as loud ;-) and are a little bit more difficult to spot. Let Christ be exalted as King and Saviour in our lives (may He reigns absolutely!), and let the Word of God dwell in us richly (and in it's entirety), like a solid rock under our feet!

So sound. There's really no confusion in how God communicates with his people.

'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
Did you turn off your heart? Did your turn off your soul? Did you turn off your mind? No matter where you are at, a Charismatic, reformed etc... that's not healthy, thats trouble

I have a reformed Protestant background but when I moved house a few years ago, I joined a Pentecostal church. On the surface, it’s a Christian congregation, then you start questioning things. Why are all the elders from the same family? Why are they not interpreting tongues if they speak in tongues? Why is the pastor’s niece, the ‘worship leader’ always starting prayers about herself? Why are some elders posing on Facebook dressed up as death, vampires, witches and Satan? Why do they claim that they have their “free lunch” of salvation (without the fruits of the spirit), so nothing can take that away from them? Why is the pastor tolerating verbal and emotional abuse against people who question these practices? Why does he want all the money raised for an office when ten members are his own family and the other ten are being ignored, apart from a few family friends? These false teachers often tolerate witchcraft in the churches and their false doctrines support their spiritual abuse. I left and I will never get involved with another charismatic church ever again. In isolated places, like the valleys in Wales, many churches are these false churches.

@@wyattearpswoman838 I do thank and praise the Almighty God and our Lord Jesus Christ for exposing these. False teachers cannot stand proper church discipline and there will be always easy signs. The Holy Bible gave us a whole set of rules in terms of correction, church discipline and qualifications for our elders. Anyone undermining or ignoring these should repent while they can. I’m still slightly undecided about the perseverance of the saints, but much of my theology came from the endless Reformed Protestant literature and the sermons/writings of Dr. John MacArthur and Dr. John Barnett. There are a few more internationally known teachers and pastors I follow, but the dedication and discipline of these Calvinistic teachers (also being very close to my Christian congregation in Hungary) always gives me the strength to be bold when important decisions need making. When I saw the signs and attempted to gently raise the issues, I was out within weeks. Satan is the most active in false churches, it is often said.

4:19 Pushing "Calvinistic truth everywhere". That's a problem right there on your side. And that's coming from a Baptist. Calvin was not God.

"Calvinistic" is an adjective, not idolatry. You can specify your doctrine without practicing idolatry.

I'm not a fan of Calvinism because calvinists tend to think they are correct no matter what.

Amen, it’s a big turn off when the religion of Calvin is brought up. I personally am in the middle, where I know none of us would choose God on our own but also that the Holy Spirit convicts everyone. It becomes a divisive issue only when people overthink it. For instance when you get the “frozen chosen” who don’t share the gospel. For
      everyone reading
this: believe and you are chosen, don’t believe and you are not

A number of people I met from Christmatic churches use to be in the occult and had a really sad and beat up life beforehand and thus lack discernment. They need to know the truth and not live by some emotional experience and witnessing these healing sessions by charlottes that justify they have staged healings because the ends justify the means. It is not edifying nor glorifying to the Lord to condemn them but rather reach out to them. It may do a lot of good to reserve judgement and go to one and test everything said with scripture.
