Who started this split among reformed churches? There's always a dominating personality. What a terrible time for a split.

He is correct. One should read what Steve Wilkens has to say about those who are united to Christ. Children of believers, who have been baptised, are not said just to belong to the visible church, but are actually united to Christ, and chosen in the sense of Eph. 1.

This is inaccurate right off the bat. Federal Vision does not teach that all children who are baptized indiscriminately are united to Jesus Christ and the salvation that he offers. They are objectively covenant members as in they are a part of the visible/historical church, but covenant members doesn't necessarily mean they are a part of the invisible/eschatological church.

      Yes indeed
They are united to Christ _covenantally_ and not salvifically. Sad that so many Christians are quick to use the word "heresy" and often don't even understand the doctrine that is allegedly heresy

God does not make a covenant with those he has not elected unto salvation. So unbelieving children are not united to Christ covenantally or salvifically. Unbelieving children of believing parents are UNDER THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE COVENANT but not IN the covenant.
