You make me a lot more excited about the opl3. Compared to other sound solutions the games i heard on opl / adlib did not have that sound to them i enjoyed from for example a c64 but your showing it can be done. If you ever want a real challenge see if you can cover Hi Fi Sky by Lman. Its a C64 song that gets a lot out of its sid chip.
Most of the time, games were trying to keep Adlib compatibility, so they couldn't use the square and sawtooth waves. I make heavy use of them, so that might be the difference you're hearing. I'm not familiar with the song you linked - I'll have to look into it when I get online later, thanks.
On AdLib Tracker's website, there is an SDL version you can download for Windows. It contains a very good emulator for OPL3 playback. It also runs great on Linux through Wine. It's not perfect emulation, but it's the best I've ever heard.
NABDay is best day.
This is nearly as good as a konami-VRC6 cover i once heard! bravo, this chip is so much harder to work than a VRC6.
Should've titled it "Underwater Tambourieene" :)
Good to see you back again keep up the good work
Amazing as usual
