  • Are COSTCO Kirkland Wedges OVERHYPED!? An HONEST REVIEW! When buying new golf clubs it’s important to think about the price of golf clubs. Where should you buy new golf clubs from? In this video I test the new Costco Kirkland Signature wedges… Costco golf products seem to be all the rage at the moment, and buying cheap golf clubs can work just as well as expensive golf clubs… are these clubs brilliant? Or a waste of money… let’s find out… and let’s do it now!

I've been using the wedges all this season. Bought them as a curious novelty (along with the putter) and I was very surprised. They are in my bag to this day. Alot of bang for your buck.

Been gaming these for months now as replacements for my Mizuno S18s. Regripped them right out of the box. I find them less forgiving than the Mizunos but better spin and trajectory/distance control.

They certainly look the part. Good, fair review, James. Some pros still suffer from either brand snobbery, or perhaps fear of the big brand's reactions, (in access or other perks), so seem reluctant to praise smaller or value brands. This is not the case with you, as your recent reaction to the new Takomo irons demonstrates. Subscribed

I used them last season, love them. Did upgrade to callaway jaws but seeing how all 3 of the kirtland are the price of one new jaws wedge I highly recommend them. Still have them and the filled out my travel bag.

I know this video is a year old, but anybody that sees this at the end of 2022, know this. These wedges are on sale at Costco right now for $120 for the set. Incredible value. They are discontinued, so get em while they last.

Hi James, George here in Denver Colorado! Well done my man! I was thinking of spending about $300.00 US dollars on three new wedges and I will go to Costco to make the wedge purchase today just because you are cheering for the average golfer to have excellent rounds. Well done, well done. If you ever make it to Denver, we'd like to invite you out for 9 or 18 holes at the club! Cheers GGIII

Happy Saturday James. Trying to work off some of the Turkey and pumpkin pie that we consumed by myself during Thanksgiving here in the US. As I have mentioned before, Santa will be bringing me the Kirkland putter, I would love to have the wedges in my bag. I have too playing buddies that have these wedges and they love them. Both of their games have benefited from them.
If I am fortunate enough to win these fine wedges I would love to play with you when I make a trip to the UK. It is on my bucket list, maybe in 2023. Really enjoy the channel.

I'm subscribed, and have gamed these wedges all season, and look forward to having them re-gripped for next season, because I agree that the grip is pretty much the only weak spot on them.
If someone is curious about them, do remember that Costco (at least in the US) has a no-questions-asked return policy. Buy them, try them out for a round or two, if you don't like them, return them for a refund.

So I have converted over to these wedges. I was playing Clevelands RTX's previously (and I loved them!). But I am being told you should replace your wedges every couple years or so. When brand name wedges are $150-$200, I can learn to live with the limitation in options and get used to these clubs (which wasn't difficult tbh). Spending $150 every couple of years on all your wedges beats the hell out of spending $450 in the same timeframe. I can blow that money on a new driver Lol.

Have tried the Kirkland balls and find them excellent, maybe a fraction shorter with the woods, but only about £1.10 each. You get 24 and I haven't lost one yet - always the way with cheaper golf balls. Will most probably get these wedges when it's time to change. If i dont like them then I'll get most of my money back on eBay.

Bought 2 dozen Kirkland balls. Excellent balls. My Kirkland 4 pack gloves were equal to any Leather glove I even put on. Not enough time on them to see how they last. I’m considering these wedges to replace my Vokey 50, 54, and 56. I hit a 52 at a range a guy had.Heads are lighter and leading edge is pretty thin for me. It spun like mad.

Really wanted to love these - certainly think they look just like the Vokeys. But 2 range sessions and 2 rounds and the ferrules on 2 of the 3 started coming away from the head. Had to take them back. Negatives for me on top of that were the grips and the shafts felt very light versus the regular wedge shafts in name-brand wedges. Pros were the look and obviously the price. Costco takes pretty much anything back within 90 days, so I may give them another try to see if maybe I just got a couple of bad ones. I'd prefer 50/54/48.

  • @keithstarnicky6993

I live in Phoenix, AZ and the courses here are hard/firm desert courses. If I ever played these, would need to bend them 2* strong to remove 2* of bounce making for a 50/54/58 set. Something I have often considered doing, but just never pulled the trigger.

Subscribed. No they're not a rip-off. I think brands/clubs like this actually show us just how unnecessarily expensive clubs from the premium brands are. Brand snobs will always want the Vokeys or the MG3/Callaway etc..
I think it'd be great for you and Chris to do a full test between say those £600 wedges (can't remember the name), your Vokeys, these and then a set of the cheap £25 per wedge Wilson Harmonized wedges you can get from Sports Direct - it'd be £75 for a set of them. Just how much difference is there between the price ranges and is it really worth it for the average golfer to spend £150-200 per wedge? Will the better wedges actually, measurably improve your game or is it £200 because they look and feel nice (to you)?
Or for a follow-up Q - is getting them fitted and in your specs that much of a game changer? Is it really worth the potential £200+ price difference over these?
