Wow, this was so interesting! It's so cool how aware of everything the photographer is. I can imagine it takes lot of practice to get such an eye for detail!
This information is amazing..I took years of Graphic design in High school watching this channel has brought so much back and added so much new information. What a wealth of knowledge!

Love the simple workphlo. Great product photography tutorial - I would love to see how to photograph simple products to cut out on a photoshop background. Thank you PHLEARN.
Awesome videos man, if only other tutorials were half as good as what you put together. Very well thought-out.
Again great free tutorial can't wait to see the rest. Thanks

thanks for sharing! really enjoyed this :)
I always thought that product photography is easy and you do almost everything thru the way you shoot (perfect lighting, angles where the camera should be, shadows fixed) but as it turns out a LOT of post editing happens. Thanks for the tutorial, I learned a lot.
never sure whether to save to my photoshop tutorials favorites or photography. well, I'll probably do both. he he..thanks for the tips.
The background is perfection and I learned so much about set construction. Thank you!!

great tutorial thanks guys
Wow, I wish I was even a tiny bit as good as you! Thanks a lot!
When building sets like that what material do you use to get the best result with painting? I think I heard you used MDF? All the MDF I see when I go to Home Depot is 1" which is so heavy to manuever versus what looks like .5" used here. Thanks anyone's comments on this would be awesome!
That was great and very interesting.
Came across this looking to brush up on my product photography as I got a new job as a product photographer and I am super nervous. I have been working as a school photographer for 5 years and haven't done anything along these lines since college. I may have to save this to a play list and study a few videos to get back into the swing of it.
Mind me asking how you ended up at both of your jobs? I cant seem to find people hiring for positions like these (School or Product photography)
@@TaylorMadeMoment I Will do all kind of photo editing
that was lovely
Awesome video!! Thank you
Great tips!
love it
did i mention i love you? great tutorial xx
Fascinating video...
Greats tutorial, thank you
I will be using the iPad version of Photoshop a soon as it comes out. I hope you are thinking about some tutorials for it. You rock
Looks good.
Curious about using that levels layer to see what's going on. Is that a layer that's put there especially for that purpose and how do you set it for best results. Thanks.
Patrice Lemee did you ever figure that out? I was wondering the same thing..
Is there a video that explains the levels check layer that you’re using?
Nice work☺️
Hello I have a question, this set up with the hole in the box will help me to take nails pictures or nails products.?
Thank you
Thank you so much!!!!
ohhh god, thank's bring me to this video
Thank you so much!!!
Have you got a link to the vid on inner or outer glow..i remember it was some sort of samurai women or something..cheers
I enjoyed this because I am always eager to learn. If I was doing the photographs for a company that makes the purse, I could see where these techniques would be useful. I am shooting for Ebay sales however and need to be able to get the shots as clean as I can (i.e. squared up in the lens, lit properly). I do about 60-70% vertical straight down and about 30 to 40% stand mounted angled down slightly. I do not want to spend more than 5 minutes to grab my photos for a single item. I would like to learn getting super detailed macro shots and be able to pull out to get full shots of the products. Nice work though.
Hello, how can i find
that box background with pastel color?
Very interesting thank you
How did you construct the box where the products were? What were the materials ?
you're awesome !
Using the new Content Scale in Photoshop 2019, I'd simply crop the image and then use the Conteny scale as a copy of the background and and paste it behind the source image (so you don't stretch the content inside.
Where are you getting the paint for those great colors? Or are you getting the wood in that colors somehow?
Thanx!!!! Not my theme but verry helpfull tips.
Thank You
Wow
That's a gorgeous hand.
very useful
Anyone have an idea of how someone can build a similar tri-color open box set up?
Boss.
What is the levels layer you keep turning on and off?
I am interested in knowing what materials you use for the setbox? Is it foam board or something else?
wow
what materials are they using for the box? MDF board that has been panted over or pre colored mdf board?
I can't make a clean line between the two papers.. how do you get it to have the graphic look???
Hi, phlearn, any tips how to get the cardboard you have? The color is less reflective as mine
Nice 👍🏾 subscribed
waw, you are great
what is the setting for the level?
Pardon my English, I’m not a native speaker. I run a retail online shop, with varieties of products, and I shoot and edit every picture of each product. If I’m gonna follow the steps on this video, I think I’ll spend most of my time just to shoot and edit. Are these steps inevitable in product photography for every individual photo (and, yes, I have to spend most of my time doing it)? Or, is there any other way to process it especially when working on so many, many products? Like perhaps a format for the photo session and editing process for consistency?
Ok I have a question. What is the best laptop to edit pics on? My wife wants something for Xmas but idk anything about this stuff. So I would appreciate the help. Thanks 🍻
macbook pro 15". Don't buy a macbook 13", is too small.
Look into DELL XPS, for example. Don't waste money on Macbooks.
@@gu-yang only if we talk about laptops, mac is expensive but worth. If u want a PC... never waste money with Macs
That’s what she wants a lab top. Mac is very expensive it’s just something she dose for fun. It’s not like she has a business or anything like that.
@@jamesbroderick3660 If it' just for fun and she's not a professional don't buy a mac then. Way too expensive and comes with specific programs that she probably won't know how to use. Any pc around 600-800€ is enough
How long take that kind of session for one product ? Maybe 3D render could be faster ?
or use already made human hand model, and photoscan that bag or other product. Recreation of bag could take around 2h (with colors and texture ) + 2h to create good maps for it. Then 3h for render in V-ray ?
What tripod and head is he using?
Is there anywhere we can see how to put the white board under the bag but then photoshop it to the green board?
I got very excited watching this video and paid/subscribed for the course. Unfortunately, they don't provide a thorough information about each topic. I learned a few things about product photography but I was hoping for more. They could definitely cover more! I'm a bit disappointed :(
Hi Ani, If you have any questions about your PRO subscription email our support team at info@phlearn.com. We have several tutorials covering product photography.
Im the first one.
When you use gradients or blurs over a solid color or big brush size and....., it automatically causes banding artifacts in the final result. My question is: expect adding noise, is there any better solution to get rid of this common issue? If no, "noise" in "product photography" is OK?!
Great video and great topic. I just have one question. Aaron you seemed different -- hope everything is alright!
I’m trying to take better photos of my own products soil trying to learn.
Can you do a tutorial on how to do clothing flat lay with a focus on lighting
👌🏼✌️👌🏼✌️
nice
I wish we saw how you combined the images, e.g. the image with the green floor and the image with the white floor.
Yes, it's a shame that this was missed out
Where I can find gide about 21:10? Sorry for my English
это превьюшка, они продают курс целиком за 50 баксов. прости за мой русский)) phlearn.com/tutorial/ultimate-guide-product-photography/
What is the material of the set up, FDF board is he saying?
Are you using Photoshop 2019 yet? If not, why not?
insert 2 months later meme :)
Didn't know Nick Kroll knew so much about photography
Am I the only one that noticed that at 9:42 in the video the control box for the example is spelled wrong? On the video it's CRTL but on an actual keyboard it's CTRL. Just something I noticed when I paused the video to take notes. Love the video though.
