    Thank you for the demonstration. I always thought I had to find someone that knew how to weld aluminum. I'll be putting this new found knowledge to the test here soon.
    Thanks again

    I have a crack in the same spot on my jon boat. I was taking in a bunch of water the last time I took it out. I had to keep pumping it out every hour. I'm about to fix it this weekend. Thanks for the video

    Awesome video man! I've never brazed aluminum but tried some bronze rods back in the day with an oxyacetelyne torch. Also, we miss you on MW lol.

    Those aluminum brazing rods are life savers. I think there’s like 6 or 7 in a tube for the Hobart rods and under 20 bucks. For anyone attempting this, can’t stress enough the prep work. GOTTA BE CLEAN!
    Good video Josh!

    Great trick Josh 👍 Where did you buy your brazing rods?

    I used low temp brazing rod on my pontoon, the braze seemed to be porous and still had little bubbles under a pressure test so I used JB weld on top of it. Probably just a cheap rod (Harbor Freight)

    • @TheWeekendAngler
      @TheWeekendAngler  3 роки тому +1

      I almost went with the harbor freight rods, but a few months ago, Fishin' n Stuff used them and had a little better results out of the Hobart rods. That's why I went with those.

    Propane gas will work but I used a mapp gas torch and made the job a little quicker and used less gas to get the job done....

    • @TheWeekendAngler
      @TheWeekendAngler  Рік тому

      Mapp will work fine too. I had actually planned on using Mapp, but my cylinder ran out right as I was starting the video. Off to Plan-B. LOL.

    Let it be known that cleaning with brake cleaner on welding surfaces is not recommended. Some brake cleaners are "Chlorinated" and when heating the residue, the fumes will kill you.
