This is probably the most heart-wrenchingly raw episode to date - especially the last half. But the lessons, growth & re-direction that come from such a vulnerable conversation are remarkable. These episodes are always very different, the guests are always so diverse, and in all honesty, I can imagine you never really know what to expect. Jessie had been going through a lot of pain when we sat down - so that’s where this conversation went - one of my principles when having these conversations is to not try and force them in my own direction, that tends to lead to a more honest raw path.

Ultrasounds aren’t good for babies. My friend had a miscarriage hours after one. There’s no good reason for an ultrasound other than a month before delivery if in utero surgery is required. Other than that, it doesn’t help the baby.

Jessie was headlining at the Isle of MTV concert in Malta in 2013 and staying at same hotel as us. By the pool my 7 year old daughter was desperate to say hello but too scared and got upset and shied away. I approached Jessie and told her my daughter was too afraid to come over. Jessie asked where my daughter was and walked over to my crying daughter and lowered herself to daughter’s level and soothed her and made her smile. My daughter is now almost 18 and neither of us have forgotten the compassion Jessie showed. It meant so much to us. Thank you Jessie. I hope you get to live your life healthy and happy. ❤️❤️❤️

It's honestly one of the best interview techniques, even police use it. If you stay quiet, the person will speak because humans tend to not like silence for too long. It works so well in this setting because the person really gets to think and speak without interruption. So good.

"You're grieving the life that you imagined.. that you dreamed of" I burst into tears upon hearing her say those words. I just had a miscarriage last month (it was supposed to be my first baby and only a few know it) Truth is, it's not really how long the pregnancy lasted, it's how you processed the idea that a beautiful life is starting to grow inside you and it's gone just like that. It pains literally and figuratively. My heart goes to those who experienced and who are experiencing it right now. I hope you'd all stay strong but if you feel like grieving, then feel it and don't try to speed up the process. Grieving doesn't have a timeline.

This is why I am so grateful to have found your channel. These thought provoking, honest, raw interviews are so beautiful. I met Jessie when she was doing capitol rocks one for the boys and she was in the changing room that we would usually use and she said “sorry I got told i can use this space shall I go somewhere else” I thought oh my gosh what an amazing person. I told her it’s fine and I left thinking what a lovely person and I’m so glad that in this interview I still amazing person with such humility. Thank you again for this and thank you Jessie for being so raw and vulnerable

Man...I barely knew who Jessie J was. I started to listen to some of her work lately, and I was amazed at how she pours her soul in her music, and what a GREAT VOCALISt she is! In this awesome interview you can not only get a sense how much she has gone through in her young life, but you can also feel how together her shit is after going thorugh so much. She is definetly a GOOD, OLD soul. Keep writing and recording great music and doing great things, Jesse!

What a wonderfully open an honest interview. I just wanted to give Jessie a giant hug. I had 2 miscarriages before I had my son and was amazed at how many people I knew that had experienced the same thing but never talked about it. Jessie's vulnerability and down to earth nature are truly amazing considering the industry she is in.

For me it was abortion. Finding out how many people I knew had one, including my own best friend who had never shared with me prior to my own experience. I had a really hard time with the aftermath and felt so alone in my experience. I know abortion and miscarriage are completely different experiences, and really totally opposite ends of the motherhood journey, but I do wish more people (not celebrities, but people I know) would talk about abortion, miscarriage, IVF, etc to normalize the experience and make it feel less isolating.
