    Omg I love love love your tutorial I have been singing this song since 1972 on guitar. Then at Folsom High School (Sacramento) during school year 1973-74 where I completed 12th grade. Now I will be able to play on keyboard at Folsom High School “50th” Golden Jubilee. Pierre-Thank you! You rock!❤ 🎵🎹

    Pierre...🙂 I thoroughly enjoy your 'teaching style' - the way you present the info and the care with which you use your words do wonders for me. Like yourself, my wife finds this to be her favorite song. So, with that in mind, and because of your way of making it appear super easy, I am going to learn this for her for Christmas. I've only got 11 days, but, I am confident that I can get this down in time to play it for her on Christmas morning. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

    I can’t believe this song is 52 years old. I was born a year after it came out. Some of my earliest memories were of my hippy parents playing this album quite a bit back then. I’ll usually play it 2 or 3 times in a row, myself when I’m in the mood to hear it. Good memories with a lot of nostalgia! Tyvm!

    Pierre, you may be the best instructor I’ve run into on YT. Having just watched your ‘Sailing’ and ‘Hello, it’s me’, I’m deeply impressed by your clarity and articulate explanations of so many facets of these songs. I know that you’re spot on because these songs have been in my heart for a long time and know them pretty intimately. Thank you so much for these! Brian P.S., I’d love to see tutorials on Duke Ellington’s ‘In a sentimental mood’ and Stevie Wonder’s ‘My Cherie Amour’. (No worries at all if they don’t appeal to you at this time. Thank you!)

So while I still can is there any chance we might ever see the outdo to Layla? seems as that fits your type of songs you choose.It's a great piano part that really defines that song. which seems like other songs you teach. not to gush but thanks again, I really enjoy learning from you.

    • @pierrejpiscitelli
      @pierrejpiscitelli  10 місяців тому +1

      I'm thrilled that you're enjoying them! Are you referring to reading key signatures, or hearing what key a song is in, by ear? Can you elaborate?

    • @csikora5150
      @csikora5150 10 місяців тому +1

      @pierrejpiscitelli Thank you! Moreso what a beginner can focus on for memorizing notes and chords. I've seen some players add stickers to their keys but feel like that could be a crutch in the long term.

    • @pierrejpiscitelli
      @pierrejpiscitelli  10 місяців тому +2

      @@csikora5150 I intend to make some more general theory-focused videos in the future... the stickers are fine as long as you take them away quickly so that they do not become as you said, a crutch. The best approach is two-fold: Learn songs that you love to keep things interesting while simultaneously incorporating the building blocks of theory into your practice. Learning a new major scale every week with both hands and correct fingers, as well as a new type of chord in all twelve keys is a great place to start. For example, focus on major chords in root position, all 12 keys one week. Next week, minors in all keys, next week inversions, next week dominant 7ths, etc. so that you build up the vocabulary from the ground up over time. It takes years and patience!
