Thanks Leon, I always struggled to take selfies with my sony 'smile' camera which is useless in low light and not much better in daylight as you cannot see what your picture will look like until after its taken. This will be a game changer ! liked for you.

No way great video Leon. I had to do a self take on my phone last night at midnight coz everyone on the lake was asleep. I balanced my phone on bait bucket on my bedchair between pots of popups, and it worked using the phones timer

Genius!!! Have been looking for a w/p compact camera for ages with an intervalometer that i could set and walk round to the fish. This method is so much easier and i can just use my phone. Cheers!

Bluetooth shutters are also worth buying cost next too nothing from ebay. I have a samsung s5 there are various settings for voice command on the camera would imagine most have this same setting these days. Keep up the great work 👍

Whistle app also available on android. Check the camera settings on your smart phone first most now have voice command anyway.

Im looking at getting the Fish i kit for my iphone that consists of phone holder,bluetooth remote and also a plug in flash.Have you used these plug in mobile phone flashes and do they improve the pictures .A passing angler recenty showed me some fantastic pictures on his phone and he said to get them he would video the fish on his mobile then review the video,pausing it and screen shotting it to the extract the shots he wanted.This did away with any need for a remote or whistling and the pictures were amazing.Have you ever tried this Leon?
With phones these days you should be able to screen shot the video easily
I gave it a go over the weekend but I have to say that the whistle app isn't quite up to the task unfortunately, I've tried a couple of different apps that do the same basic thing but they all seem to have the same unreliability when out on the bank. Works ok at home where you've not got wind or bird noise to contend with the phone mics are not good at picking up sound from more than about 4-5ft away. I've ordered a bluetooth remote for about £10 inc. delivery to hopefully solve the problem and will let you know how it works out

It might work better with some phones than others so I guess there is that, I was using an S5 and you had to give it a full on, fingers in the mouth wolf whistle to ensure a response which is not exactly practical or considerate to the guy in the next swim.

I've had the bluetooth shutter control delivered and I'm quite pleased with it, fits in the hand nicely (rough dimensions = 50mm x 20mm x 8mm) and gave me no problems with bluetooth pairing. Range seems to be about 20ft but I'm sure that'll vary with phone type, not noticed any input lag so it's just point and shoot. I doubt that it is water resistant in any way but I just put it in a little baggie to keep it dry and it worked fine from within so no worries there. Pairs as a keyboard on a samsung device, the smaller button functions as shutter control on android and the bigger one seems to take the function of the volume up button (can be set as zoom or take picture in the phone settings). Cost including delivery was just shy of a tenner and comes with a battery

If you video it, you can watch it back and screenshot the best angles of the fish. Job done. Endex.

Great tip and saves me buying a camera tripod! Trouble is I can’t whistle 😂 so may have to just use the timer on my iPhone camera 😆

As an alternative to the whistle app, turn on voice control under accessibility settings on the iPhone. Then with your camera all set up and holding the fish say "Turn volume down" (yes, I know that sounds crazy) and it will take a picture. This avoids problems trying to use the timer and holding the fish at the same time.

Hi Leon I have a a Bluetooth remote shutter for my phone and just started a syndicate and was wondering about mobile night shots as my front facing camera don’t have a flash
Get an LED light put it on a bank stick mate, that will help with the shots

Do a search on UA-cam I’m sure there is a reason, unfortunately I haven’t used the app for many years so can’t recall the proper setup for it

Spot on for day time shots but no good for night shots as you need the flash on your phone

Only if you remain totally motionless for a second then you should get a good photo from the videon

Done what you said mate but you don’t get the camera on the iPhone as you do this app the camera picture on my iPhone is far better than this app mate.
Any ideas?
Must be a setting somewhere in the app because the app will only be using the phone camera anyway

You can use any bankstick :-)

They have a inbuilt flash sim would work Reckon
A lot of phones now let u use the timer by voice control, my last 2 phones had this on them, no need for the app

Once you got it lined up, surely just spin the camera around for a night shot using the flash...

Leon, It works on the android version and of course the quality of the picture with the rear-facing camera should be much better too.
