Some nice scenery. Looks like the prop's been working hard.
Ya, the approach into YCG is always pretty nice! Yes, this prop looks like it has been working hard through some tough conditions.
I'm loving those On-Board view's of the engine and scenery 👍😎
Thanks so much Ed, it's always nice to get these prop and engine views aboard the Dash!
Beautiful approach and landing, the scenery around YCG never fails to impress!
So true, YCG is definitely an awesome airport to travel from (when the planes are flying).
Always excellent windows view video. Great quality and love the prop view
Thanks so much Jerome! It’s always so much fun to get up in a Q400, one of my favourite aircraft I’ve flown on.
What Awesome Footage! It was awesome to Scenery and also the Prop spin on Approach! Thanks for Sharing!! :)
Thanks so much my friend, I really appreciate it. It's always fun flying in to this challenging airport, especially on these impressive turboprops.
Propeller view 😍
Scenery 😊
Beautiful video ❤
Thanks my friend, I really appreciate it!

What a fantastic video mate! Liked!
Thanks Jelmer!
Beautiful approach and landing
The approach into YCG is always a lot of fun to experience as a passenger, one of my favourite airports to fly out of.
What a view... 😍
It’s always great seeing the scenery when flying into CYCG!
Can see a little bit of ice on the prop at the start! Must have been pretty chilly hahaha. Nice video of the landing and very scenic!! :)
Thanks James! It's always cool seeing the ice built up on the wing and props of the Dash 8. Love flying on these cool props!
Love the dash! These views are truly amazing, looked like a great trip!
I love them as well, always a pleasure to fly on one. Thanks for watching Kelly!
@@TheHDAviation no problem! Thanks for sharing!
This is an awesome video, I love the videography.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!
Beautiful ❤️
Thanks 😃
Very interesting footage Jesse, I love the landscape over there😍 At 8:30 you were so close to the mountains in the final approach😱 Also very interesting to hear the french speaking crew at the end👌 I know, french is the official language in some states of Canada😊 Thumbs up my friend👍😉
Thanks so much Martin, I really appreciate it my friend! Yes, the approach into CYCG is a very challenging one. It is really neat to see how close we come to the hills! They can only land there in good weather, so there are tons of cancellations in the winter months.
@@TheHDAviation you're very welcome Jesse😉
I understand, so it's difficult to get in or out there in winter months🙈
very cool video, thanks
Thanks so much!
I like the Q400. Very comfortable and quiet (for a turboprop). You can get a surprise if the propeller blades shed ice, particularly if you're in the seat next to the prop.
I really enjoy flying on them as well, love these impressive turboprops. Haha I know what you mean about the prop ice shed, it's always interesting to see the ice shields on the fuselage and the paint damage.
superb mister 🤩🤩🤩
Thanks for watching!
*Nice View*
Thanks, there are some great views on the approach into CYCG.
A) All hail the Sky King Richard "Bebe" Russell! B) I've been told that the Q400s are so slippery that they can be a handful to slow down and land on short runways.
The Q400s are fantastic at landing and taking off from short fields, they can easily operate out of runways less than 4,000ft long.
There was plenty of distance left here. In fact, you can see the PAPI at 9:40 when they are on the runway (5300 ft. in length).
They had the gear down a lot earlier than usual. I wonder if this was for extra drag to descend down in to the valley.
I don't think that CYCG is available for use except during daylight visual approaches due to the challenging nearby terrain.
CYCG has a circling GPS approach. The MDA (just under 3000' AGL) reflects the terrain around the airport. Daylight hours only except in emergencies.
