@@SeansCreativeStudio yeah it's still a pretty solid lens. I really enjoy it.. I have no doubt the GM will be better. Im more excited about the size tbh.. I do love my 24mm GM so if the 35 is on par it'll be a massive seller!
One of the deciding factors for me to switch to Sony was more lens choices at a lower price. I couldn’t afford a 16-35 f2.8 for my Canon, so I ended up with the Tamron 17-28 f2.8 for my new A7C and am really loving it! So light for vlogging!
Watching that trailer of a Sony drone filming a Sony car while listening on my xm4 headset... it's just impressive. And considering the audience of this channel, even you may have some Sony camera gear and maybe even a Sony TV... Don't want to sound like a fanboy but you just have to appreciate these type of tech companies pushing forward on every corner :)
Oh my God! The combination of A7Siii + 35mm GM produces amazing results! Now it looks like your Sony footages looks even better than your Canon footages!
Can't wait to see you flying the drone - so curious! :) I absolutely love the 35mm lens and just released my first short film completely shot on the new 35mm f/1.4 lens - would love to hear your thoughts about the video. Cheers from Germany ✌

I’ve seen in other reviews that the focus breathing of that lens is VERY noticeable... what has your experience been?
Always go with that 35mm as your first prime lens! Favourite focal length honestly. Made a video about that a bit back using my sigma 35 and just love that lens!
Sony 35mm GM 1.4 is by far my absolute favourite lens. The 14mm Sony GM is great...the Sony G 24-105 is great...the Sony 55mm Zeiss is great...but the 35mm tops them. I shoot with the Sony A7S III and that damn thing is incredible.
Right now im rocking with cannon but I've been on the fence about getting a Sony..but I feel like the switch its inevitable. Great Video bro ..Great Content
The Tamron 35 mm /f1.8 is a great lens that also does closeups, but I constantly hear it in my audio if I have a mic directly on the camera. (0.2 m close up range/ 0.66 ft )
Can u do a basic videography tutorial? Like do a short with vlogging, b roll, and cinematicc and then doing a behind the scenes of how it was done? I get overwhelmed by camera settings to use so it would be cool to see your settings as ur doing each shot. Especially want to see how you know of exposure if correct (without external monitor using only the camera) and seeing how you adjust focus... wide or center? Or what other settings do you have to change a lot on the fly?
I love how Matti shows how you don't need to have loads of B-roll and crazy angle shots. Just sit in front of a camera and talk. Works for me and comes across even more genuine! 👍
Matti you didn't know sony had a 35mm 1.4 lens before?? they do, it's just not the Gmaster version, it's zeiss. but it's still "sony". this one is a massive upgrade tho!
Sony is just killing it at the moment with their camera releases 😆 But I’m still gonna stick with Canon - at least this year - unless Canon really doesn’t do anything about customers jumping ships
Hey Matti what if I have the sony 35 f1.8? Would you recommend the 24mm f1.4 to along with it? I usually shoot family photography, lite portraits and street photography.
Hey matti I’m looking to get some more lenses, but I’m kinda reserved should I go ahead and get EF mount (current camera is a rebel t6i) or should I save up and go to a mirrorless camera and start getting RF lenses? It’s a lot of money in the long run don’t want to waist it.
Thanks for such detailed review, i am using Sony FX3, comparing Sony 35 1.4 GM and Sony 35 1.8 for video shooting and film making purpose only. If I don’t mind the focus breathing issue on GM, just considering the video image quality. Does these 2 lenses make any noticeable differences? Someone tell me the video image on FX3 is only 4K 10bit so on video I would hardly notice any differences, but I would like to buy GM if it does perform any better on video image quality. Thanks
Actually, there was a 35mm f1.4 for Sony. The Zeiss Distagon 35mm f1.4. What a coincidence, that yesterday I have posted a video about that lens and today I see the GM coming :D
0:54 Hello Matti! I am a fan of you since 2018 i did not comment recently but I have a question, What camera did u use for these pictures? Are they also taking by sony a7s3 or? Thanks a lot (=
Hi Matti, Did you see focus breathing as a problem in any scenario? In Dan Watson's review at somewhere 9:08 while woman is walking towards camera it racks focus softly but I think because of breathing backround makes this weird jerking effect for the field of view.
Do people actually use it at 1.4? Wouldn’t the depth of field be so shallow that things would barely be in focus ? Or do you use it from a far enough distance so like a whole subject can stay in focus not just a sliver of them.
The canon stuff has better stabilisation right? and their RF primes are 1.2. I was all ready to swap to the canon R5 but the overheating and their attitude to it and stuff made me wait. This 35gm looks amazing. I've got the 16-35 2.8 GM atm
Great video Matti! I have a Sigma 24-35mm F2 paired with Canon EOS R, it’s a beast, but the loudness of autofocus is so disturbing, that it’s impossible to vlog with it. 😄
February 22 is my son's birthday. I can't wait for that drone!!! And I need that lens! :). Thanks for the wonderful videos and inspiring me to expand my videography.
I hate when we have to sell things. The one lens that everyone should need is... like this will always change depending on the lens they're marketing lol
It is nice to hear your trying to convince yourself that you have done the right thing. I don't care, if it works for you great if not, don't care :) Be happy for what you work with.
Hi Matti, what I know Musicbed already removed their "free trial" recently. I saw your link for Musicbed above says "FREE TRIAL". correct me if I am wrong about this.
I'm going to be honest. One of the main reasons I want my channel to take off and turn UA-cam into a fulltime thing is so I can update my gear. Don't get me wrong. I love what I have and as of now it's perfect for me but that doesn't mean I don't want to move into a pro setup
Who wants to see me flying the Sony Drone???? If I get the chance I hope I dont crash it 😂
Mee
Yesss
The question should be: Who doesn’t?
Mee 🙏🏻
Is it wrong if I want to see you crash it? Hope it will be a lender unit though!
"Sony I'd like to try your drone"
(Goes and deletes every drone crash from past videos)
Haha
Flying a drone you built yourself with a RED camera is the scariest :-P
I would need to see a doctor about my heart after that!
True!
Hope it doesn't have rev limiter
Yeah that sounds scary.
That would be anxiety
Gerald undone, Jared , chris hau all dropping this vid at the same time! Yours was my choice!
exact same minute too! had to have been pre-planned
@@GTSO0 or under embargo
Maybe it was the first time they all could legally talk about it
Tony Northrup too
Sony's had the Sony Zeiss Distagon 35mm 1.4 since 2015! I love it.. still probably trade in for this but just so you're aware :)

I’m already nervous flying my DJI drone, but if I had my Sony mirrorless camera on there, I would be a lot more cautious when flying!
Its so true! its good to always have insurance on your drone!
Matti: Sony, what do I have to do to fly that drone
Sony: could you tell everyone that our glass is as good as Canon's
Matti: Done

A sony drone? I am SIMPING rn
Congrats on the million subs😁👍
There are noooo worries! Great video Matti.

35 lens has opened so many doors for me as far as photography goes, I’d have to agreee!
35mm might be my favorite focal length. Super versatile. Great video!

"Naive" is a nice way to say it haha! I Started a Cameras/Travel Channel right before we went on a lockdown.... great sense of timing, yey me!
you still have 200 subs
glad to see some skating action again!
What's happening with colors from 5:21, temperature continuously shifting between warm and cool. Weird skin tones.

That drone is sick
I hope Sony bring back their old ads but instead they say 'It's a Drony!'

The switch to sony is worth it Matti. Cheers to 2021!
from canon to sony
from dji to sony
WHATS up with matti
lol
Sony is just killing it at the moment with their camera releases 😆 But I’m still gonna stick with Canon - at least this year - unless Canon really doesn’t do anything about customers jumping ships
Are you keeping the Sigma 35mm f1.2 or trading it in for the new Sony 35mm GM?
Hey Matti what if I have the sony 35 f1.8? Would you recommend the 24mm f1.4 to along with it? I usually shoot family photography, lite portraits and street photography.
“Sony just announced a drone??” Haha great video Matti!
Congrats bro, Your this video color looks amazing and super quality
Loving the videos and can't wait to try out that drone! Thanks!
Full frame drone shots with a 10bit ALL-I codec...... yes please 😭
Sony's had a 35mm f1.4 for ages now. It's the Zeiss!
Have been waiting for this lens for a long time!
Great job. So happy you're using Sony now. Sony would be crazy not to let you do a review on the new drone. Good luck.
Heck ya! Pretty sweet thanks for the inspiration!!
‘This is the new Sony lens’ coming in wobbling on some wheels 😂
Your love with wide angle lenses 😆👌🏼

Fly it man! Would love to see it.
Sony drone! Excited 😁
That drone gonna be so interesting
"Sony if you are ok with this, I would like to try that drone" dang !
Thank you mate 👍
You should do comparison video & let us judge which lens is better.
If you get that drone, I will fly over and do a 14 day quarantine just to test it out with you.
The drone looks awesome. It’s a beast. I would be nervous flying that much money around.
Hey 👋 Matt
Happy 1M Subs 👊 ❤️

Been rocking the Sigma 35mm F1.4 for a while now. Loving it. Would love to compare it to the Sony 35mm F1.4.
Matti, what lens do you use mostly on your Sony camera?
Matti, if you like the 24mm you gotta try the 20mm. Its 1.8 instead of 1.4 but at that focal length, half a stop is negligible.
Yes yes yes! That lense seems great! I will be getting it! Your rock matti!
Actually, there was a 35mm f1.4 for Sony. The Zeiss Distagon 35mm f1.4. What a coincidence, that yesterday I have posted a video about that lens and today I see the GM coming :D
Man, CES is in full swing!!
that is some Canadian AF b-roll. Made me wonder why don't we see more ice skating from you and Pete
I have the SONY FE 35MM F/1.4 ZA ZEISS DISTAGON T* LENS worth upgrading and why ?
The sony drone looks amazing
Please do a follow up a7siii video. So glad you’ve switched. But want to hear your thoughts after using it for a while.
Both look pretty legit 👊👊💥

Popping my A7Siii on a drone will be crazy. I can’t wait for this product, instead of upgrading drones I’ll just upgrade my camera.
Dito on the try out!
Battle of the drones part 3.. with peter 😱
DJI Needs competition SOOOOOO BAD! I really hope Sony has the cashflow and will to swing at DJI really hard for the prosumer/Pro market.

What about the focus breathing for video? I’ve read it’s a major issue with this lens.
Great video Matti!
I have a Sigma 24-35mm F2 paired with Canon EOS R, it’s a beast, but the loudness of autofocus is so disturbing, that it’s impossible to vlog with it. 😄
Oh that lens needs to find it’s way into my bag.
February 22 is my son's birthday. I can't wait for that drone!!! And I need that lens! :). Thanks for the wonderful videos and inspiring me to expand my videography.
@ matti - do you have a link to that favorite sony 24mm you mentioned in the video? Thank you :)
Gonna wait to see Matti flying the Airpeak.
Which focal length did you use for the shots at the table (you Talking).
Man I sure would like to go ice-skating
Sony, sponsor Matti so he can fly your drone!!
Hey Matti, once you said you had switched to Sony but why your main & vlogging camera are all Canon?
so if you can feel the lens focus , is there a risk of camera shake ?
Thank you for your input, i am gonna check it out.
I hate when we have to sell things. The one lens that everyone should need is... like this will always change depending on the lens they're marketing lol
Hey Matti, I am searching for that microphone you loved that was two-directional. Do you remember which video it is in?
Learn love repeat.. love that..
HI Matti, Could you please make a video of the gear you use to make your youtube video's since you switched tot Sony? :D
I love the ne Matti
So this was the Sony Drone I was waiting for? lol
It is nice to hear your trying to convince yourself that you have done the right thing. I don't care, if it works for you great if not, don't care :) Be happy for what you work with.
I need this lens!!! But hey, drop the price little bit!!
Its true! Do you own/use sony cameras alot?
These lends names sound like airplanes 🤣
What is your office chair?
