Actually, I had to delete my game and restart it. I saved in front of the gate and I got female Sprigatito on the second reset… unfortunately I think it’s the same method as saving before interacting with Leon in Sword/Shield ••• EDIT: 😳 okay, actually I tested on a separate file and it does work saving in front of them… My luck was just terrible it seems 😳 (runs off and hides from embarrassment)

i got the Female Jolly Springatito first try with no resets
This definitely does work, it took me about 30 tries over the course of the three days that this game has been out for training here and there each day to get a female starter, I’m one of those weird trainers that only plays with female Pokémon 💅 so this was a very big help for me 😁

I got a female Modest Fuecoco, with maximised IV in Sp. Attack (i.e., the "Mischievous" characteristic) in less than 1 hour of soft reseting.

Also can confirm rerolling for gender DOES work. It took me something like 40 resets to get female quaxly. 😫

Finally got my first Switch on the Friday just gone and got Scarlet on the Saturday just gone.
Started it up and I knew I wanted a female Sprigatito because it just looks like a female to me when the other two Pokémon look male and it took me 8 tries to get a female Sprigatito as I was watching this video 👍
I don't understand the whole turn off the auto save thing and save manually for this to work since for me I had auto save turned on and the last auto save was always in-front of the 3 starters.
So why manually save if auto save does it for you am I missing something ?

yea you can get ability patches that you can use for ha but they are rare from terra raids. I also am tryna find out if you can soft reset ha

I kept reseting FROM MY HOUSE!! Several times trying to get a female Sprigatito. Buddy if i had just known it didnt set the gender as soon as you see them then i wouldnt have struggled so. And what's worse? After i saw your video, i went and saved infront of Sprigatito just like you said. It was female! XD

Asking where to save
You can save directly in front the Starter. Just make sure AUTOSAVE is turned off!

Does the gender affect the stats at all or is it just the nature
Nature gender just so you can breed it with easy pokemon from same egg group
rng always bothered me. 40+ resets and my cat is still a guy. am I doing something wrong? I load the game, pick the cat, see the male symbol and reset immediately. rinse and repeat... am I missing something or am I super unlucky?

Honestly only thing you need to worry about is gender cuz it's super easy to change nature and can easy hyper train in this game

I wanted to start with Fuecoco but I find more easy to get a Female Sprigatito on my own and then get/trade the other two male starters than ask everyone for a female Sprigatito.

There is NO "Soft Reset" in this game. To reset your game, you will need to Close the game (on your Switch) and then reopen the game.

You have to do it from your switch settings

Get a female so you can breed more of it with another easy-to-get pokemon in the same egg group

You can’t. They’re Shiny Locked. You will need to breed them later on.
