A true pioneer and a master of the craft of MCing! The Ragga Twins put Hackney on the map! Make note when I say that the Ragga Twins would rinse out all the new breed of MCs. They have consistently stayed on top of the game and never fell off of the top spot. I really enjoyed this interview. Deman is such a humble and positive man. His life stories were great to hear. Sound Systems laid the foundations for what came afterwards. Big up the Liquid Lunch Thames Delta Radio crew. RTC 4 Life!
Legends of the scene. Loved Ragga Twins early works, Hooligan 69, 18" Speaker, Wipe the Needle etc. The Reggae Owes me Money album is one of the greatest albums ever made in my opinion & still sounds fresh today.

@@djanil9733 Yes, I do hope we get to hear from PJ and Smiley on here, more about their rapping and the decision to work with MCs and focus more on producing (they still rapped as SUAD and were phenomenal, for instance over the Peel Session version of Lamborghini, the tune they originally sampled Deman on which he mentions in this interview), their side of the story getting into trouble with all the uncleared samples, their stint producing ragga jungle under the ‘Red Light’ and ‘Blackman’ monikers, the idea behind their 1995 album ‘Black Men United’ and why they included versions of many of their Red Light tunes with the soundclash samples removed (which I can’t imagine were under the same copyright restrictions as the stuff they sampled as SUAD), the UKG project Youngstar.
