Very nice car. Too bad about the rod bearing. I resurrected my dad’s old 944 that sat for 30 years. Other than belts, rollers, speed and reference sensors, the complete fuel system including fuel tank needed to replaced. I put 1300 miles on it since. I recently purchased your 924/944 Tech Tips after listening to your interview by a 914 engine builder. Take care!
Very interesting point, didn’t know the oil can turn acidic after sitting over the years, yikes! My very same car has been sitting for 25 years, planning to get it back to running this summer, not sure what to expect😬
@@autoatlantainc.2267 hi Dr. 914, Since there seem to be a lot of unknown variables with classic cars or letting a car sit for so many years, would you recommend just doing an engine rebuild to ensure the car runs almost like new? I've got a 914 on hold at the moment.
George, are there any tools designed to get into the nooks and crannies of the Type IV engine? I think I posted a photo on the Club several years of all the trash in the cooling fins and now find that inside the case isn’t much better.

Thank you!
Very nice looking car… But that knock ouch!
"Perfect" would be a stretch- certainly not bad in it's era and a solid platform to start with

Make sure to drain that oil, and if you need any help feel free to give us a call!
