Humanity develops the A Bomb and uses it. We develop the H Bomb and test it. We develop the FU Bomb and don't drop it!? There's in itch that future humanity will have to scratch at some point!
Great narration as always. This story should have a follow up because humanity would not rest while there are quintillion slaves but slowly let the freedom infiltrate the council and destroy it.
Well they would certainly make sure that the knowledge of this technology slipped. That would happen no matter what anyone tried and really would any humans even try beyond a token effort to do so? Free a quintillion slaves? That may be a happy side effect but the goal would be the isolation of the world minds where after thorough reverse engineering. They could be turned while still fully aware in to mining colonies where with their ever slowly dying sapience would be cognizant they they had created the conditions and motives for their own ends. Organic life by it's very nature, cannot be contained.
Pretty sure it was either the Dinosaurs or the neanderthals, not humans. Hence they were looking for promising species that may evolve to take our place.
@@Elmithian neanderthals rose at the same time as sapiens. Homo erectus would make more sense, since they colonized the entire world barring America (and existed for more than 2 million years).
Great story, so much better than the repetitious "humans are the warriors of the galaxy, fighting to save bla, bla, bla..." And the narration was spot on as always...very human of you! Thank-you 🙂👍 ♥️
I like most of the stories on this channel, they are very well picked. Even the fantasy stuff, something I am not that much into and even the more generic stories, since they are usually still very entertaining. But this story was _amazing!_ The idea that what basically has become an unstoppable force of nature can be stopped by what is, in comparison, only a unsignificant speck of dust, simply by introducing an element of chaos and unpredictability is, although in general explored already in fiction, something I have not heart in this form so far. I am not a native english speaker and I am a bit lost in translation here, but I totally dig it. Everyone has his or her favourite narratives, ideas explored and stories and this is definitely one of my favourites on this channel!
Here is a like and comment for the story, for entertaining me, to help your channel grow, to appease the great and powerful UA-cam algorithm demon, and get you the recognition you deserve.
The FAFO drive was version 2.0 of the FU drive. Humanity, if nothing else, will keep tweaking their technology because they wouldn't trust the Council to not be trying to figure out how to finally put humanity down.
Humans are chaos it self and chaos does not like being controlled. The best you can do with chaos is live with it or run from it for that is all chaos will let you do.
Or you can do what we do: Point it in some "random" direction that is definitely not in the direction of what or who is giving us trouble no siree, tell it to go and have fun, step back, and watch the fireworks from a safe distance with your drink of choice.
Finally! A realistic depiction of how Grey goo would work. However, I don't think we'd lose a full 5B people in the situation described. I think it would be under 1B, no more than 3B. MAYBE 4B. It would have to target biological matter as well, especially our food. The famine and war would indeed take as much as 4B, but, with our entire species uniting after an attack like that, I don't think it would take more than 1B-1.5B. our planet is too bountiful for that, and we're not as overpopulated as it may seem. And, if I'm wrong on that last point, we have a 100Ly bubble populated with 60k stars. I could see us losing up to 80% of our population within a few centuries, if we hadn't invented the FU Drive. I suppose it's time to stretch our legs. Let's show this Council that, while we may be the greatest threat, we can be the greatest friend as well. Maybe they'll learn that some "threat" species are not so bad.
I think you are discounting one major issue. The places where people live and where food is produced are often far apart. In this scenario the infrastructure needed to preserve and transport food to people would also be wiped out. It's not uncommon for food to be produced on on continent before being shipped to a different one to be consumed.
Give us ten minutes of searching the cosmos databanks to choose a neutron star and then another three seconds to teleport a teaspoon worth onto our Prather planet of choice. Goodbye olanet, hello end of a war that we didnt start.
Yeah, the xenos fell into the folly of punishment for what might happen. You don't keep yourself safe from nuclear attacks by banning fire.😂 That and the hubris that they knew all the ways to stop nuclear and similar development.
Yet another story worthy of the moniker...HFY. It Lends weight to the old saw, 'the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer'. "Okay you bastards...you just f'cked with the _wrong_ species."
Great narration, but the story itself dragged, for me. Too much science explanation, not enough action or interaction. Seemed more like listening to a lecture than a tale of space.

I mean, we only dropped the A Bomb because Japan didn't surrender. This is "Japan surrendered before the bomb ever needed to be dropped", essentially.
And hopefully for a more honorable reason than simple vengeance, or a desire to see the pretty explosions.
@@The-Do-It-All-Badger Underrated comment, I'd give more than one thumbs up if I could.

and all those civilizations killed off...

So write it.
I like the implication that humans have become technologically advanced before and then we were put back to the Stone Age
Pretty sure it was either the Dinosaurs or the neanderthals, not humans. Hence they were looking for promising species that may evolve to take our place.

I liked the practical application of Hawking Radiation.
“What if footfall, but on an intergalactic scale”.
Fun times.
The 'angels' must have gotten to Japan before they could get their giant humanoid robots always conveniently piloted by teenagers up and running.
You see, this is what happens when you don't make the first shot a kill shot
Like Clint said "If you're going to hang a man, you best make sure he's dead"
Praise the algoritm
Yeah nah that council underestimated what the humans could do with that. Scale it up. Teleport planets or parts of stars onto planets.
Great story, so much better than the repetitious "humans are the warriors of the galaxy, fighting to save bla, bla, bla..."

I love how we got the crows to help us
Great movie. Perhaps it will be remade in another 75 years or so.

FU drive is the best name I've ever heard for a teleporter😂
Great story; Excellent narration! The Council is going to regret not waging Total War against Humanity when it had the chance! LOL!!!
