I've had Forest Service temp close a gate while they were doing culvert work, and not posting why. I was on an adjacent spur and when I hit the closed gate my 1st thought was, what's this call going to cost me? I used my offroad ap and another route. Next day the temp closure was over. I understand the fine can be pretty spendy if they write you up. Nice job as always.
I'm confused are you really based in the US, if I go off my general sample of off road recovery channels, you know how to use a shovel and are not afraid of using it, it is also over the size you'd give a 5year old to make sandcastles at the beach. You use recovery tracks not expecting them to get someone out who is completely bottomed out on the axles and wonder why they don't work. Engage 4wd before you start tearing up the roads this is all very odd. Sarcasm aside nice job the driver of the range rover did a pretty good job too not falling into the plant the foot and bury the car at the same time. As a fellow 110 owner I'd be interested int he setup of the 90, it's obviously got larger tyres and the guards have been cut back, it's also twin locked, did you adjust the gearing to compensate for the bigger wheels? Engine is stock? Running a little more boost? Do you find the recovery ropes make it more feasible to get a heavy vehicle out with such a light one? From memory some of these topics have been covered here and there in other videos although if you find the time running through it all in one would be nice.
😂 had me going for a second. As for the 90, we have Ashcroft diffs, axle shafts, lockers, t-case, and transmission. Pretty much Ashcroft everything. We highly recommend them. We’ve also re-geared to 4.37.
That Range Rover has a horrible tow location. You have to remove part of the bumper to access it. Not happening out on the trail, especially since it’s held in place by plastic clips that would most likely break given the age
Those tow screws can pull the vehicle... but only if you tighten the rope before pulling, no shock load. Shock loading one of those it will snap but a slow steady pull would be fine like a winch pull done cautiously. Can work.
Nice seeing another Land Rover

As a matter of interest there is a huge recovery point in front behind the lower valance that’s removable 😊
We figured that out eventually but unless it’s a quick pop off clip, we’re not removing any parts of a bumper just to access a tow point
It was fun to watch that Range Rover just sink in that snow. He must have gone in when it was frozen. Good to have you back.
They did in fact go up there first thing in the morning
The L322 has recovery loop in the middle of the front bumper seems dumb the sport does not.
that was rad
Did you air down the customer’s tires?
We did not air them down. We don’t like to air down customer’s tires unless absolutely necessary
10:04 what’s the brand of that snatch block?
Do people that drive around gates and barricades onto closed roads get cited by law enforcement?
I think it’s up to their discretion
@@threecreeksbackcountry Thanks!

Kinetic Rope makes it possible to pull heavier vehicles out relatively easily. Haven’t touched the turbo. Did upgrade to a bigger intercooler tho
@@threecreeksbackcountry Cheers, so not too many big long highway trips in that configuration me thinks.
@@MrNeroDiablo we take this truck everywhere in the off season. I’ve driven it across country, from
AZ to Moab and back, all over. 18-20 mpg average
Nice to see an old landy diesel doing its thing 👍
I think its gobsmacking that some manufacturers think its a good idea to put low profile tyres on a 4X4
Glad you’re back. Appreciate the videos.
I saw you on Motorheadz and decided to check out your channel. Love your vehicles and especially the Unimog! Excited to watch your old and new videos
Is the towing eye (uk name ) that screws in to the bumper no good for off road recovery?

Great to see you posting again, you were missed. A careful well planned recovery, slow and steady considering the conditions. Well done. 👍🏽😎
