    Today, Dubai is a global economic hub, home to massive tourism and business industries. But not that long ago, it was only an outpost in the barren desert.

    • @ArabianCrescent
      @ArabianCrescent 3 роки тому +7

      @Florian D. Did you not see what happened in the Arab spring, It's not as simple as overthrowing a monarch, We protested, We got shot, For the gulf nations it stopped there but in the other Arab nations when we continued we shot back then it was a civil war where our enemies and terrorists can exploit it, we can't just leave our homes, We're still using our money for zakat charity to the impoverished here in Saudi Arabia which take up 10% of the population, And we want to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine which neither the west nor the east are doing much about.
      We're most especially waiting for the mahdi, Our prophet described 1400 years ago how wealth will ruin the Ummah and there will be a period of disunity between Muslims where Injustice and Opression will increase, Then the mahdi will come from Bilad al-sham (Syria,Palestine,Lebanon,Jordan region) and will unite the muslims.
      All of those things happened except the mahdi, And since Pan-Arabism doesn't have any leading figures or party then it's easy for a person from Palestine to ask the arabs to revolt against the monarchies, Due to the internet it could spread fast and Arabs will sympathize with the person.
      Once there is a new leading figure for Pan-Arabisim another Arab Spring could happen, And we're mostly waiting for that person, Pan-Arabisim is still very popular and we all want to revolt, We just don't know when or how or who will lead it.
      We prefer staying and aiding our families with than just leave everybody behind.

      Until there's competition, western int'l airports being "s*tty" in your mind might have something to do with the fact there's so many of them, and competition is tough.
      Once a few other countries build alternate int'l airports for connecting, a massive chunk of the revenues (budget airlines) will pick the most efficient alternative, 5 star service and pretty air stewardesses notwithstanding.
      The Hindenburg was an awesome experience compared to "cramped" and "s*tty" airplanes of the time.

    You have a huge amount of wrong information my friend I'm from Kuwait there were never an Arab spring here only a political right movement called " Karamat watan" and it didn't change much. Kuwait is considered half monarchy state and the people and government have a great bond.
    And about Dubai : Human rights are terrible... It's a shame you didn't talk about the workers that turned Dubai into a a successful city and barely get any of their rights as human beings

      Actually in Dubai, just as long as you are 21 and over you can get alcohol in restaurants or bars but to buy it you need the license. Either way, Muslims end up drinking anyway.

    What he fails to tell you is that Dubai was almost bankrupt and Abu Dhabi had to bail them out. All that money came from oil. It is the reason the Burj Khalifa has its name and is not called the Dubai tower as was originally planned.

      In the 1st world war Israel was promised to Arbs and Jews under different treaty’s. And the Arbs are still angry that the British (colonial landholder at the time) gave it to the latter. That’s why they hate that country so much- because they want the holy land for themselves, and think the treaty written for the arb uprising should’ve been honored instead.
