@Lucid Dream abolishment of the police doesn't make sense. The problem is that the police are given such freedom to inflict justice instead of being a mediator. The poluce union protects them from ant consequences. That needs to be defunded and, instead of protecting the police from accountability, they need to educate their clients. Take away all of the military equipment. There is no trust for police because they haven't shown that they can be trusted. Again, it comes down to education instead of aggression. Black men and women run from and fight the police because they are terrified, rightfully so. I dont have the answers but we need to find them or else we will never change and grow as a unified nation.
@Lucid Dream Saying that the police need defunding means to remove the ability to protect police from illegal actions and fund counseling and education over weapons and aggression. Like ive been saying, look at places like Canada and the U.K.. they dont cary guns at all yet they have a much lower crime rate and a much higher respect fir police because they understand how to intelligently interact with the public. The idea of "defunding" is like you said, reallocate money to a more productive area, not more tools for intimidation. When a cop arrives at a scene involving white people, they generally dont even touch their weapons. @Lucid Dream i saw a video the other day and the cop had to respond to a domestic dispute in public. Before he even exited the car, he pulled out his weapon (tazer). Drawing your weapon is supposed to be the very last resort. This cop should be removed from his position and relieve counseling. That didn't happen.
