How To Make Ruffled Tops From Old Tshirts

- Fun and easy upcycling project! In this DIY video we will take two old white t-shirts, and with some creative cutting and sewing, transform them into a lovely feminine ruffle top. We then dye it daffodil yellow, on the stove top, with Rit Dyemore. Finally, we add lovely flower appliques cut from curtains, blue bird from a pillow cover, butterfly from a bath mat and patches made from scrap fabric around my sewing room. Think of all the possibilities....enjoy!

I do love that ruffle. One of my favorite junk journal creators, Cathy, at Cathy's garden, uses crinkled seam binding that looks just like this. After watching her for almost a year, my husband secretly bought it on Amazon from my list. So, part of the 100 yards is going to a shirt I'm making.

First of all apologies for not sending greetings before, rather late than never. Wish you both the best ever moments of love, joy, enchantment, all the good things the Universe can offer. Now on this video huge thank you! The tiny ruffles are magic! Sounds silly but yes, still a bit stuck looking at what I have and how to do it with T-shirts. Have already applied your techniques for a couple of lounging dresses and this particular video, yes arms, a big problem with my old dresses and even t-shirts, my arms with age just got wide, no shame about it, that is life, and do not want to discard beautiful designs and fabrics, so you just gave me the tip I needed to widen sleeves and turn t-shirts into lounging dresses. I have so many I might add another layer or two of ruffles to make comfy pieces to wear at home. And some t-shirts I will start turning them into thin strips, some that have designs I do not want to wear anymore. Thank you thank you thank you for sharing this precious tips.
