We also both agree on the water cup, keep it until it needs cleaned.

I can say, the "sweet spot" is definitely a thing. When I wear something for only a few hours, It doesn't belong in the hamper yet. My sweet spot is the back of my desk chair lol. I hadn't even thought about what happens with the sweet spot once you get married. Lol

As a woman, I have to agree with the husband on the 'sweet spot' and water glass topics. Though, the sweet spot is not on the floor as that dirties the only partially dirty clothes more--you put them on a chair or at the end of the bed. Also, the water glass....that is too much work to get a brand new water glass every time you need a drink, not to mention that then over half the dishes will be glasses and the washer will have to run /far/ more often. Just put it to the side a bit and unless you have a family of ten or something, it truly doesn't look untidy.

Also, the one taking the clothes off is the one responsible for emptying pockets. Unless we are taking each other's clothes off..... for spaghetti?

After a long time I decided to get a small tub to keep them in so there's always a place, and I don't have to complain about them anymore 😆. One thing I've complained about many times are INSIDE-OUT socks!! No one should have to turn those right-side-out, lol! Thankfully he got better at that! And the water glass is true! He turned to me and smirked, "That's not a thing."
So, yep, I'm commenting. I might start digging that hole the next time he dumps the pile of clean clothes (that USED to be folded) into the hamper to be washed again because he's shuffled them around the room so long to avoid putting them away that he's forgotten they were clean.
But no, we each have our quirks and he puts up with a lot of mine too. I'll give him 5 more smirks. Then I'll start digging. :)

    How about this:
    - Sweet spot for "purgatory" clothes: chair or couch, folded. *Definitely* not on the floor - it's just as dirty, even if I just finished cleaning up. (Lifehack for tidy people: I actually throw empty shampoo bottles on the floor, so I don't forget them in the shower, and since they're on the floor, I'll definitely pick them up.)
    - I also have an "agent" water cup, yet he usually stays in a corner, making the kitchen seem less untidy.
    - Too many cleaning products in the shower: I don't have that problem. Yet.
Oh and emptying pockets: I forget it maybe once in half a year, I immediately suffer the consequences - it's usally a tissue and I get to collect everry single piece of its remains from all my laundry. Everything with a little more weight lands on its place once I'm home. Yet my father is rather someone to keep all his coins loose in his pocket, so either we could hear it crumble on the floor just before the pair of jeans got thrown in the washing machine or my mother committed literal "money laundering". Classic :D

The argument for us is how when he goes in the kitchen to do the simplest thing like clean an apple or put some food on his plate the entire counter ends up all dripping wet everytime. It's a mystery. Anyone else?

Or toast! How can one slice of toast produce enough crumbs to coat the entire kitchen? And how do you get peanut butter on every single cupboard door handle and drawer pull?

The laundry issue at the start is verbatim an argument my wife and i had for years lol. She finally gave me several different baskets and let me decide what goes where. As long as it is in a basket, i dont get in trouble.

The pockets!!! I hate checking pockets, because I hate the texture of dirt and grime getting under my nails from my husband's work clothes. I am sensitive to certain textures and will avoid all cost checking pockets before the wash. I can handle my clothes because I don't do with what my husband does. So, he is responsible for checking his own pockets. lol

Sweet spot is 100% a thing. Water glass also a thing but only 1 glass a day. Tomorrow you get a fresh one out. I discovered that the water glass is thing for my kids too and I never even taught them. I was doing dishes one day when my son asked me why I had washed his water glass. I said I didn't know he had a water glass. Now we have a designated spot for our water glasses.
