      @Typhoon0627 2 місяці тому

      ha! that's funny... my name actually is finn mccool and i moved from LA to the chicago burbs and after 5 years here, I'm ready to go off grid. But I'll take Antarctica over LA and the fact that on any given day it can take you 2 and half hours to go 15 miles, or the insane cost of everything (like my wife's cousin spending more than my mortgage to rent a rundown studio apartment in north hollywood that's the size of my living room), or the even more insane politics there.
      Chicago/IL is corrupt as all get out but only in California will they completely ignore the massive homeless, drug, and theft problems all over the state to spend $90 million on a "wildlife crossing bridge" over the 101 freeway in a feeble attempt to help a now dead mountain lion cross the freeway safely - while simultaneously making it that much easier for coyotes, bobcats and other predators to make their way into neighborhoods to attack people and eat their pets because there's no food or water in the mountains amidst the unending drought... and the defense is "the animals were here first". The people running that state are legit insane.
      I couldn't make this shit up if I tried, but about 10 years ago there was actually a new law proposed to ban the sale of black cars because black attracts more heat, thus making people run the AC in their car more resulting in poorer gas mileage and creating more pollution. Fortunately, someone had enough sense to throw that out before it got to the ballot, but today, I wouldn't be surprised if that passed.
      Newsome is definitely getting paid off by PG&E to push the electric agenda there, knowing full well that their infrastructure can't support it. You can't even endure a heatwave there without rolling brownouts, so yes, makes perfect sense to ban gas vehicles, gas appliances, and wood burning fireplaces to make everyone completely dependent on electricity, so when the power goes out you have nothing to make food unless you have a BBQ. And soon enough they'll ban those because some inconclusive study claims it causes cancer and asthma in babies, and the smell of meat cooking on your grill is offensive and infringes on the civil liberties of your militant lesbian vegan neighbor.
      I always say "if you love LA, you haven't lived there long enough.". With enough time, the novelty will wear off and the hours upon hours of your life wasted in traffic or circling blocks trying to find parking only to not read the 15 posted signs correctly and still get a parking ticket, or the unending months of oppressive 95* heat with 40mph winds, brush fires, bums breaking into your car to steal your shit over and over and over, more traffic, no straws, no plastic bags, more traffic, oh and your lease is up? yeah... we have to up the rent another $200 a month because we need to make renovations, more traffic, oh and there are new taxes on corporations this year so the company won't be able to pay out bonuses or raises as a result... oh look! it's "winter time" which means it's dropped from 100* to 80* and windy and we need to switch to the "winter blend" of gas, that's gonna be another 40 cents a gallon. Ope! whattya know it's January 1st there's another gas tax increase, you're now paying 70 cents a gallon in taxes on gas that's already the highest in the country. Oh and one more thing... since so many people have switched to electric cars, we're not getting as much gas tax revenue so we're gonna have to raise your registration 50%, and we might even have to start charging your 4 cents a mile to drive in CA. Look that one up, it's coming. I could keep going... But hey, at least you don't have to wear a parka or shovel your driveway anymore. So ya got that going for ya!

    I’m from Ohio, and I say, “it’d actually be warm if it wasn’t for the wind” all the time. Also, I have shoveled the driveway for my 94 year old neighbor across the street for the last 14 winters.

    Never know how Wisconsin you are until you see stuff like this...LOL...the Kwik Trip scenes were hilarious! We have 6 locations in a town with less than 50K people, they are great...LOL! I wish their bread was better, I would never have to go to the grocery store.

    I moved to California a year ago from Michigan and have been rather homesick. Thanks for making me laugh with all the great content 😁

      omg opposite for me! I lived in Cali until I was in my twenties (moved to another state on the east coast) and then I moved to Michigan. I live in a big city, so don't really see the small-town Midwest hospitality, but it's still funny to me because I 100% believe it and have even said a few similar things (like it being nice out if it weren't for the damn wind!!!) lol
