The supercharger network has always influenced how I answer people on buying an EV (as an owner, I get such questions). I think Tesla has the best option, but understand not everyone wants one. If someone just wants a short-drive daily, I've said there are a number of decent options out there. For anyone looking to 'trip' their car, Tesla has been the only car I could recommend. This is finally changing the game for non Tesla 'tripping' a car. Nice.
Rivian has the Tesla information baked in. It can route you to a super charger and precondition. It is plug and charge Rivian Handel’s the billing. It also shows the cost on the drive display.
I really hate how the CCS -> NACS change happened, and blame Tesla for withholding their closed standard for such a long time. *HOWEVER* in comparison, Electrify America killed the entire US CCS charging standard through their incompetence managing their network and stations... so that kinda puts things in perspective. Long-distance traveling with EA was always a stressful trip. I'm not an Elon fan, but EA really did EV's dirty though sheer incompetence.
Great video and proposition! Thank you! Does original Tesla Connector look identical (has identical pin layout) to Supercharger - can this adapter be used with old and new Tesla charging stations?
Hi, thanks for all your time and effort in doing these videos for everyone do you know if this or any of those other adapters such as electron and A-to-Z will work on a 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE I know Tesla supposedly opened up their chargers to Mercedes-Benz and Rivian or anybody else out there has experience with charging a Mercedes at a Tesla charger with the adapter please chime in thanks
There are 2 tesla supercharging stations near me, but I don't see them on the tesla app. Anybody knows why ? I have a hyundai kona with the lectron adapter
Say I buy this and I hook it up to my 2019 Chevy Bolt and try it on our local superchargers (they arent listed as non tesla chargers according to the Tesla app) will it work? We have a very poor CCS infrastructure here in Chico, CA. in fact with the exception of the 3 total Chargepoint kiosks (that are capped at 24kw) we have one electrify america station downtown, there are 4 kiosks there (at least 1 is always out of order) and we have 2 Tesla Supercharging stations with 8 kiosks (16 hookups) each. Id love to use this if itll work.
Does Lectron have an issue with its NACS TAB lever? I hear it does not lock the NACS cable to the adaptor. Does anyone know if this is true? If the issue is there then that could make this Lectron Vortex adaptor dangerous to use.
It only works for Ford and Rivian, please do not purchse this adapter, if you don't own Ford or Rivian. I bought one and it does not work on my VW ID.4.
I ran to the comments to say this, but you beat me to it. Yeah just one extra spot. Actually if you're in a Ford or Rivian, and you see another Ford or Rivian charging, you should definitely charge right next to them.
You can find the Lectron Tesla Supercharger (NACS) to CCS Adapter | Vortex Plug in the link below!

Having owned a Model S, Bolt and Energica motorcycle, have been waiting for this for a long time
Did you buy it. Does it work with the bolt?
Now works with the Bolt EV
Solid , at what speed can a Mach e 91kw can charge on a Tesla supercharger?
Is this adapter will work with the Volkswagen ID for 2024?

Will this work on the 2024 Mercedes EQE?
will this work for BYD in Mexico?
just waiting to see the 800v NACS chargers... crickets on that one
Why don’t we have interchangeable batteries like the Neo?
Will you still get a Ford adapter to compare it too?

Go to the website instead of the app
Using an unapproved adapter is not permitted by GM.
will this work on a polestar 2?

Just got my adapter a few days ago and I found no issues with it. The latch locks properly with the NACS cable

Works with GM now. I just charged for the first time in my Bolt EV.
think it got recalled ??

Oops......you just lost your car warranty per GM !!!!
4 Fords or Rivians would take up 5 spots, not 8.

Have now come across 2 of these melted to the supercharger.... neither were reported when i called it in. Aholes
Info add… do a proper review …
lectron is a low quality product, don't waste your money.
I own a RAV4 Prime I don't have to deal with this charging BS.
Listen, just bc u don’t have the balls to transition, don’t blame it on the rest of us.
