1) Reduce waste and minimize new production. Basically, buy less new stuff to reduce pollution, save raw materials and divert stuff from landfills.
2) When choosing new, aim for things that were produced sustainably, will last a long time, and will contribute to a healthy interior environment.
3) Support local economies, small craftspeople and ethical manufacturers that pay a living wage and provide clean, safe working conditions.
