I have recently stopped buying plastic storage bins, which I love and have a lot of because with a lot of kids you need to organize. But recently, my eyes have opened to the dangers of offgassing and now I look around my house and cringe and open windows very frequently, even in the winter. Thank you for this, as I am in the middle of my “out with the toxic and In with the less toxic” rampage and finding it very difficult to find affordable options. One thing I worry about with a lot of the wooden products is wondering if and what they were treated with. Michael’s craft store has wooden crate boxes which are great for organizing. I do wonder if they’ve been treated with anything but they look like all wood. With a 20% off coupon you can get them for 10 or $11 and they’re fairly big. Thanks for this! Looking forward to more.

Love! Thank you so much. It's unbelievable how much toxicity we live in and so hard to know where to start to clean it up. I learned something new about the PVC pipes. Now I'm questioning my water :(

I would say ‘put heads together’ and create a cutting machine where it also uses water. This is a very sad; you go to work to make a living not to die from it.

I think they, (Home Despot") Hahah, sells Non or low VOC paint, too. They may also sell hardwood flooring, the real stuff, like white oak. I'm excited to try a, 1/3 rd beeswax, turpentine and boiled linseed oil finish on solid wood ! Thanks for the cool video! Keep up the good work! Have you smelled white cedar from Canada? It smells the best! I use it as a cheaper option for decks, as compared to plastic decking. I'll be asking my local lumber yard to source some of that FSC plywood. I will be using it for sub floors. Thanks again!!!

Coming from so one who knows and trust me I know. A lot of shops cut dry and don't give employees or won't even let employees have respirators and other PPE. I've been in a lot shops and on million jobs. Hardly ever see anyone with a mask of any type. Mask cost money and slow the employee down. Company's could give a shit about the safety of the employees!! It's just the world we live in.

My favorite is the soap stone because of all the texture & color. I love that you said the soapstone patinas, very cool. I also love the wood but after someone eats at a wood counter how do you clean it? 🤔 I’m so used to using a spray and wipe cleaner that disinfects

i used a portion of real butcher block on a cabinet I rescued from the garbage in my old home. it was just one surface so i went ahead and treated it just like it was a butcher block? oiled it often but cut right onto it. I think IKEA wood tops are sooo pretty but they are no longer full butcher block? they have composite inside but this makes them lighter and also they are more sustainable according to their website. I'm thinking of either stainless steel, butcher block, or soapstone now in my kitchen. my issue might be what the fabricator my contractor works with could make for me?

This is not hard. You wear a mask in the grocery store, you put on a mask when cutting silica based products. Don't forget about the mail order cat little box people, they use silica sand. DUH!

Keep up the good work. Another benefit of copper (in addition to ayurvedic tradition of drinking water out of copper cups as the extra copper in the water has health benefits including the prevention of grey hair) is that viruses etc cannot live on it. Copper is naturally bacteriostatic, thus ideal for door knobs and pipes.. It would be interesting to see a video on the horrors of PVC pipe. Also they sell a (I think its PVC?) board at home depot.. White sheets that u can cut easily into shelves. I like them (+even chemically sensitive people like them) because they have no smell.. Curious if they have the same carcinogens +endocrine disruptors as PVC Pipe, and curious (even if they did) if it would matter much if U were only using them as shelves since they might not out-gas much if you're not running water over it?? (as U would with PVC pipe) or would they??

We are just finishing our build of our house made from Western Canadian hemlock. So, of course we are looking for as much sustained products as possible. We are using Quartz kitchen countertop and using our old butcher block pieces that we bought with us from the Uk years ago. We are now trying to transfer to natural products and moving away from using plastics.
