As every Warlock main plays Destiny 2, they often fall into 1 of the 10 stages described in this video. As they progress on their journey through the stages, they are known to do a few signature moves that define their class. Stuff like gracefully gliding to their deaths whenever they encounter a moderately challenging jumping puzzle. Of course, every Warlock has their own little quirks and each individual will walk their own path, but this video is simply a collection of some of the most defining Warlock moments that almost all players experience along their journey. Regardless of what class you decide to main, I hope this video is enjoyable and paints a picture of what it's like to be a Warlock.
This video is a part of my "10 Stages of Every ____ Main" series that was originally suggested by a viewer and inspired by Hamaji Neo. Check out the playlist for the series here: • The 10 Stages of Every...

I started playing Destiny about the time you made 10 stages of hunter main. Warlock is my first character and main till this day. I was in the last weeks of Forsaken and I watched it I think once WQ debut. I've waited a year for this and It's finally here. Your series is super accurate. It felt like someone taped my D2 experience and put it in a video. Except maybe stage 7. My friends are so good at the game I never really had the medic phase. I wasn't the cornerstone player they need to provide debuffs or spam rifts etc. So being the medic war rather unrewarding. Other than that I can safely say with 2K hours in the game I'm a good stage 8.5-9. Still making the rare rookie mistakes like bad rift placement lol, never used heat rises or wellskated but I've set a path to flawless many things like raids and dungeons. Similarly I've attained the status of resident lore nerd of my fireteam. It's a chore but a thrill to catch up on lore actively compared to others who know it because they've sat through it, Taken King and before to Lightfall. I'll see you at stage 10 someday Shadow. What I'm trying to say I guess is you've been a key part in my D2 introduction and watching myself run through these stages with stage 10 being the next and final step is exciting.
PS. Guilty of being a floater because I can't see people if they're in the air so I go in the air. Then I realise others aren't as dumb as me and can look up. And I REALLY want hood of the exile.

That bit about stage 9 warlock seeing enemies not as obstacles but as catalysts to trigger perks is so true. A red bar isn’t a red bar it’s 5 Solar grenades. That group of enemies isn’t enemies it’s an empowering rift. Or a burst of healing. Or an explosion that melts the rest of the room.

As a Warlock main since Destiny 1 Day 1, over the past 8-9 years of this game with easily 5000-8000 hours across both games on all platforms, I can commend this video. I truly felt connected to the last two stages of Warlock and I can fully agree that I have committed to the bathrobe, once believing we were the worst class and to know that we are the best class now. I was initially going to play Titan coming from Halo but as soon as I booted up to the screen to choose my class back in 2014, I picked Warlock because Harry Potter! The way you described stages 1-7 are absolutely true when I started playing and it got me a bit emotional cause what you said was really on point. In that time frame from the start of SotH to Season of the Seraph, I've feel like I've grown A LOT as a warlock main. 2:17 I had this moment with my friend I was teaching the game to 😂 except he was on arc and it was after hours of grinding him exotics he said he chose that one because it looks the coolest and it was really strong. Placebo effect

The second I see a redbar I immediately think "firesprite, sunbracer activation, or ignition". It's so fun to make quick decisions on the fly and watch them pay off in real time

"There's so many exotic choices and combinations that they feel overwhelmed"
Ah yes I know the pain of choosing between sun bracers sun bracers sun bracers and let's not forget sun bracers.
Seriously so many of sol warlocks specific exotics are so boring or bad compared to sun bracers and on the subclass that is necessary for so many encounters that it's really the only exotic u need. Necrotic grips on a strand lock is my fav build tho especially bc of thorn buffs.

I used to play as a hunter but later on I switched to warlock now I’m can say I’m a stage 8 warlock main with 730+ hours and I have so much pride for it…
I still have more room to improve on warlock but I am happy to learn more!!😊

    Get nezarecs sin

I just gotta say it for clarity, b/c I'm sure some people will missunderstand with the current context given in the video.
You CAN use Nezarec's Sin with ANY subclass. So long as you are using a void weapon. Vood weapons kills WILL accelerate ability regen in other subclasses other than vpid.

I got Contraverse Hold as a drop while I was in stage 3 and ended up skipping stage 4, now I think I'm just loitering around stage 5/6 because I refuse to use solar

    Really long story ahead
I've played since Destiny since its original launch. I actually started out as a Titan and enjoyed it, but then my older brother also started playing and picked Titan as well, and much better than me too. After feeling upstaged, I decided to switch to Warlock.
It felt really confusing to me at first after playing Titan, especially the gliding, but after a month or so, I got the hang of it. Not only that, I started to like Warlock better. Running Sundance and Shatter Nova made me feel like a badass.
Then Taken King came out, along with Stormcaller, and I immediately fell in love with it. In the wide words of Th3Jez, I was literally Jesus the Super. And it was awsome for me to just go Emporer Palpatine on anything in my way.
Then D2 came around, and I was depressed they removed the original Sundance super, but I got used to it as well. Since then, I've grown more and more as a Warlock, actually making builds and using all sorts of exotics, and when Forsaken came out, I did it again. Same with Beyond Light, and I'm going to do it with Lightfall too.
Long story short, I love Warlock, and looking back on my journey, I'm sure I've never made a better decision to switch in my life

I'm a comfortable stage 8, inching at 9, at the moment. I chuck grenades like they're candy and I glide around the map like I hold a monopoly on regular passenger air service, but I've also started seeing red bars as things to charge or chain my abilities.
