@dragonriderabens9761 it's hardly needed for memory or background data because it's one straight course, your right gamescience has spoken plus we have developers talking about series S being difficult outside of wukong,Case Closed
i got a series s and a 4090 pc and it still runs like shite on my pc so no i blame ps5 pro lol (jkn of course lol) every game should be on every platform period , exclusives are DEAD! and thank fook for that . cept for nintendo but there in a dif place lol )
Series S was available since day 1 as the Series X was. If developers haven't figured out the hardware 5 years later? That's their problem. They lose sales or a Game Pass deal with Microsoft at the end of the day. I honestly hope Rockstar puts these developers to shame with GTA VI running on a Series S.
Yeah I mean it's definitely game scientists problem but this is their first triple A game of course they don't have the skill to optimize on a weaker console.
Jeez. Such vitriol lol. I just hope GTA 6 isn't woke garbage 🙄 2K destroyed the Borderlands franchise with their SBI agenda, if they do the same to GTA, I'm not getting it.
Idk about them being shills I find it more likely they’re tied up in a mix of an exclusively deal and an NDA So no matter how much they want to, they can’t port to Xbox or say the truth about why without getting sued by Sony
Phil Spencer said...... "I want to give you the choice on how you play your games, and who you play with, and not try to do slimy platform things to force you to do what I want you to do," he said. Spencer referring to PlayStation as "slimy"..
@@MichaelM28 As a toxic Sony fanboy, I would be completely silent when it comes to the term "money hatting". After all, Sony was so ruthless with Bethesda that the takeover came about in the first place. lol
@@MichaelM28 oh, I hope Microsoft and Xbox did do that.. and that they just beginning to do that.. Because guess what... Microsoft is worth $3T so they can easily moneyhat sony out of existence... Have a nice evening now poony..
1. Series S has 10 gig of RAM instead of 16. 2. The devs have said they lack the skill, which is true because look at the ps5 port of the game, the game runs at 30 fps with frame gen to achieve an artifical 60 with horrendous latency 3. DF ran a PC with similar specs to the series S and the game ran at 25 fps, so it is possible 4. MS believes sony locked down the game to exclude xbox. Which is unlikely because sony would be screaming it to the roof tops 5. Sony just helped wukong get the game to run on ps5. But the devs could of of just said NO we don't have any deals with sony. Like how balders gate devs did. 6. Series S can runs demanding games like hellblade 2, dragons dogma, cyberpunk, flight sim, indiana jones with raytracing, space marines 2, exc so what makes wukong special
The devs have blatantly admitted that they have little to no experience in optimizing the game for the Series S so it's not the hardware's fault here, they made a game so good that they didn't even consider how it would run on a platform that people call a potato where other big titles like Baldur's Gate 3 found a way to make it work on Series S so Game Science should start learning on how to optimize instead of playing the blame game.
Right, if it can run on X it can run on S. Just crank down the settings until it works. Its also a first game dev studio and what this chinese studio is really doing is OPTIMIZING THEIR PROFITS per month of development. They can make it run on S no problem. Theyre just being typical Chinese and dont want to.
Game science don't seem fussed, the blame is the xbox community, game science not intrested in xbox clearly, xbox need to let it go,they doin ok with stalker2
As an X owner, I cannot stand that the games have to run on both. How much better would games look and run on Series X if the S did not hold it back. Perhaps the games run well on the S as well as X because the game is held back for the S.
Got an X and two S in the house , and tbh I only ever notice a difference in fidelity most the time. Things for the most part run buttery smooth. Of course there are outliers . Another good video Bruv. ##BRUVNATION
Yeah the series s is a really good little machine it's a massive over achiever and again a testament to how good Microsoft at engineering their systems #BRUVNATION
Same, the only time I notice a big difference is a outlier title that targets only 30fps on series s and 60fps on series x. I think they should always give a performance option and lower the resolution if needed so FPS matches the X.
@@SirBruvianThe Series S is going to be one of the most genius plays in gaming of all time. When Xbox launch their handheld all this optimisation done for the Series S is going to put them YEARS ahead of Playstation's handheld.
Is a twofold problem. The Series S is vram limited. The devs used to be mobile devs, using UE5 which is heavy in the ram. Is not like the game is running well on Ps5.
Technically they ddi not blame the Series S. They said they aren't good at optimizing for consoles. The person writing the article and fanboys blamed the Series S even though the game isn't even properly optimized for PS5 either.
@Couple.of.Fools. I'm not sure. I haven't played it on PC. It would be funny if it was also having issues on PC, then this whole conversation would be entirely nonsensical. It would just be another game that released unfinished.
@@SirBruvian I have played it on PC and it has optimization problems too, even if you have a powerful computer it stutters a little at times, and requires more hardware than the game would really require if it were well made.
@Couple.of.Fools. Its not good. Even on a 4070 they have to use frame gen (fake frame with input delay) and fsr or dlss (upscaling from low resolutions and I dont mean like from 1080p to 4k). Unreal Engine 5 is bad it tanks performance on everygame that launches with it.
The devs said they do not have the experience to optimise for series s Ya ram is an issue, but alan wake 2, hellblade 2, and others run on s and are higher demanding than wukong And gta 6 will run on it So while ram is an issue, so are dev skills
Not to mentione the whole globe and simulated physics and atmospheric pressures, resistance/friction and air density in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 on the Series S is fine? Seems like a dev issue to me
@@SirBruvianI would assume that applies to all platforms though right? If you don’t have the skills to develop for the Mac for example the Mac user base is going to lose out on that title - that’s how it works today. That doesn’t mean the Mac is a bad platform or anything.
The state of the industry is that they are accustomed now to throwing power or money at a problem but not solving them. Broken games lack of optimization. It’s a huge release now fix later paradigm that consumers need to reject with our wallets.
1.The steam deck has more ram 2. Its at like 720-600p on the steam deck. No upscaling. 3. Steamdeck users use fsr 3 ( big input delay) and low settings which doesnt look that bad on a small screen.
What I've heard is that the Series S is selling way more units than the Series X so although I don't care about sales figures (as I'm not a shareholder or anything of the sort), I think it made sense business-wise to offer a cheap entry point that's also way more portable/compact. The problem is just that its built-in storage was a bit limiting and in some places the PS4 digital version was too close to its price point. And I'm saying that as an Xbox guy. BUT... There's one possibility here that people have talked about online (including "Digital Foundry"): Xbox is rumored to be making a handheld console in the future and Phil Spencer has hinted as much. In that scenario having games optimized for weaker (yet impressive) hardware will be a huge win for them since I'm sure it'll help make current gen games run on that thing since some games have already been optimized for hardware with lesser specs. I mean it would be quite the feat to pull off to cram a Series S level chip and cooling inside a handheld but here's my prediction and let's see if it comes true.
Hell, the series s made it possible for handheld pcs to exist because devs had to optimize for weaker hardware, the series s has issues but this seems like it’s a dev problem where they are not experienced with optimizing for lower end hardware, my personal opinion is that Xbox should get rid of the parity clause and let BMW be released on the X right now and then release it on the s later
Well if you think about it Black Myth Wukong still has issues playing on the base PS5 and those issues have still not been resolved and even on the PS5 Pro the issues are still apparent. Because let's just be honest it's pretty clear that Wukong will eventually come to the series S and series X but I think the developers of the game really need to rework the engine to work on the Xbox series s
My guess is there is some truth to both rumors. I think they had a timed exclusivity deal with PlayStation, so they deprioritized optimization for the series S. Then when they started working on the optimization for the series S, they found that took longer than expected due to their lack of experience optimizing for the device so they were not able to hit their intended release date for X-box.
To be fair, the devs did say that they didn't have the experience to make the game run better. I don't think they were blaming the Series S outright like ponies said they were, but, I think it's more along the lines of, "we're new at this, and we're trying our best to figure it out, sorry for the delay". What i do think Phil should do is get rid of that parity clause. It's clearly affecting development for some companies.
The S is not a weird choice for Microsoft. It was a weird choice of hardware, they should have instead repackaged the Xbox ONE X hardware for the series S but with the improved SSD for quick resume and diskless ofc. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A KILLER DEVICE.
What was weird in Series S hardware? It was build like low end gaming PC. I’ve got mine around Black Friday 2021 and played all new big and small games from game pass. Console was and still is amazing price/performance deal. This is low end device with all current generation experience.
The Series S is Xbox's generational transition to a handheld. When both Playstation and Xbox drop a handheld.... What optimisation has Playstation done to make their games run on cut down hardware? Xbox has the Series S. Telling you all right now the Series S is a genius move and nobody is talking about it.
I think having a game run on previous gen hardware (Xbox One/ PS4) is more detrimental to the potential of a game than the few limitations of the Series S. Its time to move on from the last console generation.
This Black Myth Wukong situation is one of the best case example to show how ones bias/affinity to anything can impact their judgment when it comes to that said thing. There are multiple games that have released both xbox & PS at launch with poor to terrible performance over the past few years, and everyone has unanimously blamed & bashed the devs/publishers for that. There are lots of examples, but the clearest one for me is Cyberpunk 2077, as I personally think it was arguably more anticipated than BMW. It launched poorly on last gen in December 2020 and improved gradually, but even when it later arrived on current gen ( including the series S), there were initial issues that took a few patches/ updates to make it better. At the time, I thought CD projekt red would stop to exist because even though people thought the underlying game was good, everyone unanimously agreed they did a terrible job at optimization. Now BMW was initially advertised to launch on all platforms, and during all that development time, they never mentioned their challenges with the series S to the public but waited until after launch on PC and PS. Now fanboyism j can understand, but media narrative to bash the series S and give the devs a free pass I couldn't comprehend. The game was great, but any honest person can see that the game was poorly optimized on PC & PS. Even now, when the purported statement from the devs is literally saying yes the series S has challenges, but the game is not on Xbox because of our skill issues, the narrative is still blame the series S. Hence, the Xbox tax.
There was none of this denial from Microsoft for Baldurs Gate 3 when it got delayed so the fact Microsoft seems to think a deal is place for Wukong is curious
Over the last year I switched from PlayStation to Xbox. My son has a Series S, there’s an S in my living room and I have a Series X in my office. Never had a single issue on the S playing any game.
This is the first time ive ever heard a developer actually admit they don’t have the experience to optimise for the series S and i think Microsoft should send their people to help with it. I think the problem is that S and X has to be released at the same time. Ya pay $800 for the series X and then have to wait longer because they have to make it work on a less superior console. They should only delay the series S release.
I agree with everything you said, I was mad at the fact it wasn’t coming to Xbox but oh well Xbox has many games to play in the meantime and in the future
I would not call it a exclusive deal. But I would not put it past Sony to pay some people off to make excuses. Think about it as you said it yourself... Black Myth Wukong is not a more graphical intensive game than some of the titles you named. Microsoft has the team in place to help them. Which brings me back to why I think Sony has something to do with it.
Reasonable analysis and opinion. I think the PS5 pro just gave the same headache of having to produce two versions but in a pivot, as a developer you should really just concentrate on the PS5 and then make a few adjustments if needed to get the 45% increase Mark Cerny expected and get from 30 to 42 fps. Call it a day. So it's not as bad a problem. No one is forcing you to make PS5 pro updates and the influencers will see an improvement no matter what the truth is so who cares. I do think the big issue with the S could be 10gb RAM instead of 16. I think the rest isn't as big a deal but the wukong team might have to redo their art as the simplest fix. I'm generally of the belief here that the truth is in the middle whereas many people are lining up on sides, which is weird.
The issue isn't about series s being a weaker console even the steam deck which is considered to be the weakest amongst these new generation consoles rans black myth perfectly fine,it just game science are bad at optimizing games for consoles, they are inexperienced, they are just a small studio dedicated in only making games for pc only and this is their first time porting game in consoles and thats why it sucks this way, even the playstaion 5 hardwares are also struggling to handle the franchise with too many issues, series s can run bmw perfectly it's that game science studio are inexperience in optimizing Xbox hardware
I agree with your original statement however it's not a console exclusive The developer was going to release on PC first Sony money added the development of their console version to get it early so no it's not an exclusivity deal but it is a rush deal and I can see how this is all getting lost in translation.
If Capcon can get their games on the Switch, then other developers can get their games on Series S. It’s the developers’ skills issues more so than hardware issue.
I do not own a console so I looked up the specs. 10GB of RAM is a problem because the Operating System will use at least 2GB which leaves 8GB for a 1440P console GPU. Where I own an AMD GPU (same company makes both) and it is marketed as a 1440p video card. The GPU came with 12GB of VRAM and I have had games max it out. Educated guess is that if the devs target 720p then upscale to 1080p it should run at about 30fps. But Microsoft should have used at least 12GB of RAM for the Series S.
I've been back and forth with the Series S argument as well. Sometimes I think it's good, and other times I think it was a mistake. In terms of sales, it actually beat Series X by quite a bit, so no one can argue that it wasn't a good system seller, but also, developers still have to optimise their games for both consoles which costs time and money. Now, we're starting to see it buckle with newer games like Hellblade 2 which runs at sub 720p and looks like crap. A lot of games are capped at 30fps too which isn't ideal. For the next generation they just do what Sony did and have the same console with an all-digital option for those who want to spend less.
I’m not worried. It will eventually come to the series s, thick I think is a good system but I doubt MS will do something like it again mainly because of smaller devs having a harder time with it.
Not all devs have the experience they will gain it working on the S which will help all development. I used a series S for about 3 months while I waited on the digital X coming out. My grandchild wanted the Series X for the disc drive so we swapped. TBH I was using it on my 65” Plasma TV and couldn’t tell the difference. Only reason I needed an X was … to be honest I never needed to have an X only difference I can tell was more space to hold more games which I don’t really need as I usually play one game at a time. In summary I’m an idiot. Although it does help having games I can get my achievements on🤷♂️
Not saying it's true but I believe it was Microsoft who claimed it was a deal that have with Sony. Microsoft is a Sony partner do that could be a reason for them to not announce that. Conversely, Bailers Gate 3 had to make an exception of not having local coop. The pets are supposed to have feature parity but Microsoft allowed this to avoid further delays.
My only thing is why hasn't Wukong devs denied the rumors of them having a deal with Sony. Maybe thave have an agreement that neither one can speak on the fact that they have a deal. Could it be an under the table deal?
Microsoft used Sony's bragging about exclusivity against them during the ABK acquisition to the point their legal team managed to get partial documentation as evidence. So id suspect they'd keep deals a bit more low key now that gaming is more on the radar by regulators for scrutiny.
Would Sony be screaming about it being exclusive (temporarily)? What does the more damage? Claiming it be exclusive or making out Series S is weak? With exclusivity deals people can wait until reaches their platform, but if Series S looks weak, then people will think devs will drop Xbox, so games may never come to Xbox, so gets PS5 instead. Trying to make out Series S is weak would be better for PlayStation in the long run. Plus makes no sense for devs to publicly announce they are not experienced - if they seek out other job opportunities then the employers will see they are inexperienced and will not get hired. The best thing the Wukong devs could have said was they are still busy supporting PS5 and updating it, and do not know how long it will take, which Stalker 2 devs said about bringing that to PS5. I have never seen devs moan about developing games for Switch, they either do it or they don’t, and a lot of games came to Switch that would not seem possible. Plus Jedi Survivor came to PS4 / Xbox ONE. Overall it just seems a lame excuse just to blame Series S
Dude, this is one thing you’re gonna have to get used to, everything is the series S‘s fault. The fact that it can play Indiana Jones at 1080 P 60 FPS, the fact that it can play, Senua’s Saga HB2 1080 P 30 FPS. And it has no problem running B06 at 60 FPS.#TheTaxIsReal. #BRUV it’s an absolute joke.🙄
I personally don’t think anything wrong with having two consoles for Xbox Xbox series X and the series S is it sound like to me that the studios can’t be bothered to import them onto the series XS because the S might be a cheaper version but the Xbox series X is more powerful butstudios can’t say we can’t do this. You can’t do anything. Just do not have the right people to make it happen.
Mustn’t forget that XboxSeriesX/S has sold less than half the number of PS5 now, so it’s got to be a disincentive for some smaller 3rd parties to release on Xbox. Especially as it requires more effort in the process
So… 1. Wukong isn’t exclusive. It’s on PC as well. That’s likely why Sony isn’t bragging about it being exclusive 2. There has been evidence in the past that Sony actually paid devs to NOT put their games on Gamepass. It’s entirely plausible (even probable) that’s what is happening here as well. It’s not an exclusivity deal, it’s a “keep it off of Xbox” deal
I have both PC and xbox so i could play black myth if I wanted to but I could care less about those types of games. I would like it to come to xbox so more people can have the chance to play it. Im sure someone on xbox wants to.
reason some devs are able to is, they know to set graphical settings for consoles behind profiles for each console the game detects. sony in their wisdom omitted this while helping the devs to optimise for ps5
Game science director said that they lacked the experience in optimizing series s hardware,it could take them some years to learn and optimize the system, they aren't blaming the hardware but they are rather blaming them selves for their inexperience on consoles optimization, even PlayStation consoles hard many issues with the franchise, its struggling to handle the franchise, game science is just a small studio that only makes games for pc and bmw is their first port trial on consoles and thats why it sucks this way
The S is a fantastic little machine especially on a monitor. I have both the X and the S. The X is obviously great for a 4k tv or a monitor and the S is good for a 1080p tv or a monitor.
Yeah, bro. I feel they're lying. None of it really makes sense. Sony sent over a crew to help out with BMW. Sony got a timed exclusivity deal out of it. Unlike STALKER2, where Xbox helped the developers, but the devs decided to not work on a PS version now. If it's a skill issue, why not just ask Xbox for help? At this point BMW devs should just say, "no comment" when asked about the Xbox version for now. I do agree with you on Sony shouting it from the roof tops, but maybe this time, they're trying to keep the heat off of themselves?
I have 3 series s and 2 series x in the house, every game that i own or use are played on all systems and these were day one buys so if it doesn't come to Xbox, so be it, i have a ps5 and still haven't been interested in wukong, i do rgink om going to miss it now.👍🏾👍🏾
To be fair if developers have to still create games for a 10 year old console like the ps4, games are held back from their full potential on PS5 or newer generation. We've seen this with so many games on both consoles. But Wukong is poorly optimized because it runs on the unreal engine 5. I would suggest you look up the amazing a UA-camr Threat Interactive. He points out the problem with why modern games look blurry and are less obtimized than games from literally 10 years ago. Its very technical but its interesting to see the actual problem we all thought was just normal.
It's not the Series S at all. I mean, below are the minimum specs for Black Myth Wukong. Then you have all the specs in between the max specs and min specs. So, how they put those games out on all these different configurations but struggle with the Series S? I wouldn't be surprised if Sony had some kind of agreement but more than likely they just don't want to bother with it. Minimum Specs for Black Myth Wukong CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600 RAM: 16 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB Dedicated Video RAM: 8 GB (6GB NVIDIA) I'm pretty sure the Series S is equivalent to all that.
Indiana Jones.stalker 2,alan wake 2,cyberpunk,hellblade 2 and redfall all of these games are more demanding and can run on the series s fine. Its not the console its the developer they dont have a clue on how to optimize.
@@SirBruvian the devs are missing out on money if they dont want to optimize it is what it is. im perfectly fine without the game its a darksouls clone i dont like those kind of games personally.
Don't know if this is off topic or on topic but the gaming industry is reaching a point where all these companies that have their own game engines are slowly losing people who actually have experience with said engines and can't train new people because they no longer work at the companies
The devs aren't good at optimising for console They decided to use frame gen to reach 60fps on ps5 and in case you didn't know all types of frame generation shouldn't be used unless your base frame rate is already reaching 60fps as the latency would be terrible otherwise and for even more proof of the developers incompetence instead of having a 40fps mode they decided to make it a 45fps mode and if you weren't aware having a 45fps cap in a 120hz window that will cause frame pacing issue and frame timing problems So yes the developers just aren't very bright which is not helped by using unreal engine 5 which is just unoptimised regardless
At least they admit they aren’t that skilled. There may not have been an exclusive deal but Sony did send help so I’m sure they prioritized that port and they definitely did not help with the Xbox port. They should get help from devs that are more skilled. Coalition, Bethesda, Halo Studios.
As a fellow programmer, i can assure that any software can be optimized on any hardware (dont get weird with this 😂). I think its a skill issue, it always is.
I have 2 Series Ss in other rooms (for streaming and for multi-player occasionally) and it's been pretty great. BMW, I just don't believe a game that has a min PC spec of a GTX 1060 w/ 6GB cant get a working S port in 4 months.
I totally agree with this man but Microsoft won't acknowledge this they will not back down on the complaints of series s the series s is there hope is Flagship console
Series S is also the future. If Microsoft designs there handheld to run series S profile games then the Xbox handheld will instantly have a massive back catalogue on launch.
One .. I believe they are in the pocket of Sony microsoft said " they can't comment on deals that were made " Two skills usual " we don't have the technical knowledge how to deal with the S low rams
When it comes to making things like this you have a spec to keep across board. This is due to the fact you are sending one version out to be either translated into Xbox code or ps5 code to a porting house. A third party who makes ports they also usually handle some of the mundane localization. I during development will make for the lowest gpu on market that's required. At this time I am confident my lowest common denominator is Xbox series S where during bench tests it is indeed the slowest and the one I need to keep in mind for it is still a mainstream console. That being said there is nothing stopping me and my publisher from discussing a pc version that has more content or a PlayStation version that has more content. I would never blame Xbox for the performance issues of my game that's not how this works. Aim to dev for all but if you truly feel like you can do more for one or the other then do it or don't offer it at all to the console market. This is coming from a community who use to make a version of the game individually for all the consoles on the market. At one point you had a version on game boy advanced which was nothing at all like the pc or console. For instance Age of Empires which was unbeatable by the way the company ended up offering a patch you had to send your physical card back to them to get it updated.
To quote VGFightschool: "For every Black Myth WUKong that skips the Xbox, there is a WU CHANG Fallen Feathers coming Day 1 to Game Pass" I hope for Game Science's sake, they release BMW sooner than WU CHANG, with Xbox Play Anywhere for the dual entitlement across console and PC!
I can run Black Myth on my Legion Go, which is significantly weaker than an Xbox Series S. I do believe there is some sort of marketing partnership that includes some sort of exclusivity. Sony definitely locked that game down with possibly a 2 year deal. I also think Microsoft is to blame due to Microsoft's political views, especially in the Xbox division and the controversy surrounding game science. There are a lot of reasons why Black Myth isn't on Xbox, and none of them have anything to do with the Xbox Series S. I believe it's political. Microsoft blocked Christmas Massacre on Xbox because it was too violent and didn't align with their family Kumbaya image.
The facts are the company was making the video game for PlayStation and Xbox. They were also running out of money to make the game. Sony jumped in and gave them money. Now there is no timeline for the Xbox release. Coincidence nahhhhhhhh
The developers knew beforehand the hardware they was working with when building wukong for the system. The issue isn't skill its the developers not wanting to compromise there game to fit on the series s. Look at the game how good it looks. Is it really a skill issue? I just don't believe it I think like I said before its the developers not wanting to cut any corners at all to get the game to fit on the series s they want the series x version on with all the bells and whistles on to be the same on the series s. I think that's the issue. An if its not that why did they take soooooooooo long to say anything about it? They knew what hardware they was working with from the start. Its not an hardware issue it's a developer issue
they are still making games for the ps4(not sure about the xbox one) And they can't with the series s? Yk whats also funny. They stopped selling the one x despite it being more powerful but with last gen components
Can someone help me understand how Black Myth Wukong can’t run on the Xbox series S, but it can run on a steam deck. Besides the RAM the Series S does offer more power. I apologize for my lack of understanding and over simplifying but I’d really like to understand. Thank you 🙏🏿
The devs admitted they don't have the optimization experience to get Wu Kong on the series s. I wouldn't be surprised if xbox send out some engineers to get this port done asap.
I feel as though if this was sincerely the issue Microsoft would have done so already. I do not think they are okay with their stakeholders missing out on a game of the year nominee.
In the ABK Trials, Microsoft Xbox said or implied that Sony PlayStation has paid to keep games off of Xbox before also in interviews about the BMW situation Xbox has been implying in a nice but vague way that's what's going on. So I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that not only do the devs just not know how to optimize their games for consoles and are being lazy about doing it, but they also may have an under the table deal with PlayStation. Until somebody on the dev team comes out and officially says that there is no deal, I'm choosing to believe that there was a deal made and that the dev's also just have a skill issue with making their games for console, I'm choosing to believe that both are true. Because you're telling me the console that can run Halo, Cyberpunk, Baldur's Gate 3 and Flight Simulator 2024 can't run Black Myth Wukong, really? I call BS.
You are wrong, things have changed since FTC. Sony wouldn't put the time exclusivity out there like before, because eyes are on them. The problem is sony payed them for an exclusive deal, while its also a skill issue.
Honestly, the way I've heard people talk about Black Myth Wukong, it better be God's gift to gaming if it ever comes onto Xbox, or if I ever get around to buying a PS5 and playing it. Because ngl, I'm getting sick of the discourse surrounding that game now.
@@LCJammerTo be completely honest with you, those aren’t really my type of games. The only Soulslike games I ever played were Bloodborne and Nioh, I barely got through the first level of Nioh before I took the game back to the store lol. I was willing to give Wukong a shot just because I never heard anyone explicitly say that it was never coming to Xbox, but with the discourse I’ve seen surrounding that game since the game awards, I’m not losing any sleep over not playing it🤷🏾♂️
@@keronwilliams4409because you know it's the biggest failure in gaming history or course people still talking about it, same story as starfield being an unfinished game that make modders and dev just give up on it
People are blaming new devs that have to do extra work for having to wait longer.... yeah no shit. If Xbox wants to compete and make money then dont make shit harder for devs. The devs are still making tons of money from PC and Playstation and just wait until the Switch 2 comes out. So why would devs be in a rush to work more for the Xbox brand when they have the least amount of players.
Bro I know your liking Xbox but I highly recommend go PC, Xbox days are number with MS releasing their games on PS As for Black Myth it's a XsS issue, RAM specifically, several devs have spoken up on XsS RAM issues (look up Del Walker for example) 5:35- Yes exactly that's a RAM issue
I'm not upset at all if it doesn't come to Xbox it doesn't come to Xbox if it does I'm going to play it it's either or my opinion I'm not losing any sleep
The Xbox series s will be the future, just like television and movies nobody buys dvd or Blu-ray anymore they just download it off their tv. 1. Series S has 10 gig of RAM instead of 16.
2. The devs have said they lack the skill, which is true because look at the ps5 port of the game, the game runs at 30 fps with frame gen to achieve an artifical 60 with horrendous latency
3. DF ran a PC with similar specs to the series S and the game ran at 25 fps, so it is possible
4. MS believes sony locked down the game to exclude xbox. Which is unlikely because sony would be screaming it to the roof tops
Exactly man it makes no sense #BRUVNATION
@@QueenOfTheFairies I wonder if Sony paid Game Science to hold off on the optimizations
🤦🏻 sorry but your wrong.

How's it performing on PC?
The devs said they do not have the experience to optimise for series s
Ya ram is an issue, but alan wake 2, hellblade 2, and others run on s and are higher demanding than wukong
And gta 6 will run on it
So while ram is an issue, so are dev skills
Yea but that becomes a issue doesn't it, so if a dev team can't do it then Xbox just loses out on the title ?
Not to mentione the whole globe and simulated physics and atmospheric pressures, resistance/friction and air density in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 on the Series S is fine?
Seems like a dev issue to me
@@SirBruvian they could hand it over to xbox to get it working like others have in the past, this team is still learning
@@SirBruvianI would assume that applies to all platforms though right? If you don’t have the skills to develop for the Mac for example the Mac user base is going to lose out on that title - that’s how it works today. That doesn’t mean the Mac is a bad platform or anything.
Also the dev are dumb for not moving to a higher ver of ue5. Ue5.1 is well known for bad proformance.
I have it for Steam deck so im not horribly worried, but if i can get it to run on there without causing a fire, they can get it to run on Series S

Good point.
The state of the industry is that they are accustomed now to throwing power or money at a problem but not solving them. Broken games lack of optimization. It’s a huge release now fix later paradigm that consumers need to reject with our wallets.
1.The steam deck has more ram

@Blast1314 For a second I was like "wtf do cars got to do with anything?!" at the BMW part. Then I was like "Oh..."
@@ChertograadSeries X has been outselling it this year.
I’m Just glad I have a ps5 (pro) to be exact, and I’m able to play this gem of a game.
Having less total ram than One X was a mistake imo. I was surprised by that when it was announced.
❤❤❤xbox series power best of the best 💪🥰
This game wasn't even ready for release on pc or ps5. They should've just delayed it. It still doesn't run well on ps5.
I have the series x and series s and trust me the series s in not weak. If I just had the series s I would still be happy
Facts
Same. There is nothing weak about the S at all. Hell, I was surprised at how identical Indiana Jones nearly looks on both machines.
Thanks for the video Bruv. I'm really disappointed on this one. Why all the mystery. I mean who to believe. At the end of the day it is what it is.
They never address rumors, just like the time LGBT pour lot of shit at them and they never replied a thing. and frankly, they shouldn't.
Microsoft used Sony's bragging about exclusivity against them during the ABK acquisition to the point their legal team managed to get partial documentation as evidence. So id suspect they'd keep deals a bit more low key now that gaming is more on the radar by regulators for scrutiny.
They don't neeed to drop support but they should not expect parity at the same time
Would Sony be screaming about it being exclusive (temporarily)?
Xbox has helped other smaller developers with Xbox s optimization in the past.
Mustn’t forget that XboxSeriesX/S has sold less than half the number of PS5 now, so it’s got to be a disincentive for some smaller 3rd parties to release on Xbox. Especially as it requires more effort in the process
So…
1. Wukong isn’t exclusive. It’s on PC as well. That’s likely why Sony isn’t bragging about it being exclusive
If some devs can do it then should all devs able to do it as well it isnt that hard to figure it out
reason some devs are able to is, they know to set graphical settings for consoles behind profiles for each console the game detects. sony in their wisdom omitted this while helping the devs to optimise for ps5
I have 3 series s and 2 series x in the house, every game that i own or use are played on all systems and these were day one buys so if it doesn't come to Xbox, so be it, i have a ps5 and still haven't been interested in wukong, i do rgink om going to miss it now.👍🏾👍🏾
The Xbox tax definitely exists. I guarantee if this was PS It wouldn’t get This much attention
Put the Xbox S out of its weak misery, Microsoft.
U right it is bs not being able to make it run on series s
I'm pretty sure it's a Dev team optimization issue since they are new to console developing right now.
I just can't understand if Black myth wukong can run on a steam deck then why it can't run on a xbox series S.
Minimum Specs for Black Myth Wukong
CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600
RAM: 16 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB
Dedicated Video RAM: 8 GB (6GB NVIDIA)
I'm pretty sure the Series S is equivalent to all that.
Exactly man it makes no sense #BRUVNATION
Indiana Jones.stalker 2,alan wake 2,cyberpunk,hellblade 2 and redfall all of these games are more demanding and can run on the series s fine.
Its not the console its the developer they dont have a clue on how to optimize.
Its just a shame there lack of compency leads to Xbox fans missing out
@@SirBruvian the devs are missing out on money if they dont want to optimize it is what it is.
im perfectly fine without the game its a darksouls clone i dont like those kind of games personally.
Yes this been a wild ride with this game still looking forward to play it if it does come on Xbox lol
Don't know if this is off topic or on topic but the gaming industry is reaching a point where all these companies that have their own game engines are slowly losing people who actually have experience with said engines and can't train new people because they no longer work at the companies
dropping series s support would destroy xbox. That would be an incredibally stupid move for xbox
They won't do it they can't the S is there backbone
Agreed, you might as well just give everyone who bought it because it's the cheap option the finger
Half the Series sales are the S.
The devs aren't good at optimising for console
They decided to use frame gen to reach 60fps on ps5 and in case you didn't know all types of frame generation shouldn't be used unless your base frame rate is already reaching 60fps as the latency would be terrible otherwise and for even more proof of the developers incompetence instead of having a 40fps mode they decided to make it a 45fps mode and if you weren't aware having a 45fps cap in a 120hz window that will cause frame pacing issue and frame timing problems
So yes the developers just aren't very bright which is not helped by using unreal engine 5 which is just unoptimised regardless
I totally agree with this man
but Microsoft won't acknowledge this
they will not back down on the complaints of series s
the series s is there hope is Flagship console
Series S is also the future. If Microsoft designs there handheld to run series S profile games then the Xbox handheld will instantly have a massive back catalogue on launch.
I dunno. An under the table deal to keep a game they don't own off a competitor's platform? Sounds like day ending in "Y" for Sony.
Paying for exclusivity is so embarrassing. Like bragging about "going on a date" but in reality you just paid for a stripper.
One .. I believe they are in the pocket of Sony microsoft said " they can't comment on deals that were made "
Two skills usual " we don't have the technical knowledge how to deal with the S low rams
I have been playing Black Myth Wukong and the game is amazing. In my opinion, it should had been GOTY.
Hell divers 2 for instance reason it probably won't ever come to Xbox. Is due to the series s.
So you can still play current games on Xbox One and PlayStation 4,but the Series S doesn't have enough power 🤨?
So far 100% of every new generation game that has released last year is working fine on Xbox Series S so why all of a sudden BMW isn’t working?
Yes. They are telling a lie.
Because ngl, I'm getting sick of the discourse surrounding that game now.
game is good but nowhere near elden ring or sekiro.
@@LCJammerTo be completely honest with you, those aren’t really my type of games. The only Soulslike games I ever played were Bloodborne and Nioh, I barely got through the first level of Nioh before I took the game back to the store lol. I was willing to give Wukong a shot just because I never heard anyone explicitly say that it was never coming to Xbox, but with the discourse I’ve seen surrounding that game since the game awards, I’m not losing any sleep over not playing it🤷🏾♂️
It's a great game, that's why. You are missing out.
@@Leesin6767 No I’m not.
Just remember Concord cost $700 Million total with everything 🤣🤣🤣
That concord problem was in 2024 its 2025 dude, a new year, and people still running with that??
@@keronwilliams4409 Well... I think Sony is still pissed about it. lol
Bro I know your liking Xbox but I highly recommend go PC, Xbox days are number with MS releasing their games on PS
As for Black Myth it's a XsS issue, RAM specifically, several devs have spoken up on XsS RAM issues (look up Del Walker for example)
5:35- Yes exactly that's a RAM issue
I'm not upset at all if it doesn't come to Xbox it doesn't come to Xbox if it does I'm going to play it it's either or my opinion I'm not losing any sleep
I heard european xbox sales are the same as the ps4 lmao
The Xbox series s will be the future, just like television and movies nobody buys dvd or Blu-ray anymore they just download it off their tv. Nobody will buy physical games anymore so a disk drive will become useless. The only use for a disk drive would be to play backwards compatible games but Xbox has solved this by letting old games free online
Lazy devs bruv 😂 stalker 2 is one of the most demanding games out there and it runs on the series s.
Patience everybody patience
Playstation in Western region has nothing to do with Black Myth Wukong. But Playstation asia does have to do with black myth wukong because we have our Playstation asia crew in asian region. There's no Microsoft crew in asia region lol
Sony didnt pay for an exclusivity deal they paid and sent help to get it as is game wasnt optimized on any platform and still needed time but sony needed optics
Bmw still runs bad on ps5 and pc til this day. Facts. Especially on low end pcs.
as someone who has the series x it's xbox fault realise the series s all they had to do was realise series x as a digital & physical console that easy when it under power to ps5 & series x course it coursing problem & xbox enforce system parity
