Nakummek! I lived in Nain, back in the sixties. In the school we spoke English, but when we played outside we spoke Inuititut! That was a long time ago. I don’t remember much any more! It’s a beautiful language, keep it going!
I’m a bilingual Montrealer. I’ve heard this throat singing before on You Tube. Don’t understand it but find it fascinating! The Inuit people are such a rich and interesting culture.
What year did the people decide that everyone should learn their language? I'm wondering because it must have been fairly recently ort the teens would have been brought up speaking their language instead of trying to learn now. I'm impressed with the determination and the respect the younger ones have for their seniors and for their culture!
there is a history of the government and churches stopping Indigenous children from learning their traditional languages (among other much worse things) for a long time in canada. it's a shame so many languages are now dead, and truly impressive that some survived in spite of this
how do they make a living? I was looking at small villages in Northern canada they have to be subsidized because I noitice they live in wooden buildings and have giant oil tanks I guess for the winter
The very first time I hear this language. Best wishes, may the language endure and flourish.
Seems you’re very,

Great to hear Labradorimiut dialect. I don't often hear it spoken! A lot of similarities with Nunavimmiut (Northern Quebec).
Almost has a Swedish sound to it … lovely! Don’t let it die! Language is so beautiful!
Have you ever heard a Swede speak? 🤔
Definitely nothing like Swedish.
Pilluak: life is incredibly diverse isn't it? Just it's all so intriguing.

It's all subsidized by the federal government.

Their ancestors came from Siberia.
Many people in the north have "asian" look.
Because they're mongoloid race
Stricking how sweet that language and those people are. No time to fare wars I guess.

I put this writing into google translate, and it said "English" -----> I don't think so.
@@MrDANGitall Google Translate doesn't yet have an Inuktitut option, sadly.
I don't understand it, but it looks beautiful 😍
Fun fact- the writing system in nunatsiavut uses roman orthinography!
aku jadi bingung karena satupun saya tidak mengerti apa yang di ucapkan

Language is a human invention. Cope with that objective fact.
Looks like 80% of the language has words that only begin in the letter K.
There are 2 different consonants from "k". k sounds like it does in English and K is different
