Vagus nerve: basic balance exercise
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 жов 2024
- Vagus nerve balancing can be a key to your health journey. Practice this exercise a minimum of 2 x/day or as recommended by your doctor. This can be done in times of stress, but is best done to help balance - before experiencing stress.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you so much! God bless you for creating free resources on UA-cam for all who seek or find you! For this, you are an angelic healer! 🙏❤️ 😇
This has really made a great improvement for me after anxiety and balance problems following a stroke two years ago. I don't really understand why it works, but it certainly does and I don't think it is just some placebo effect. Thank you for posting it.
I highly recommend looking up vagus nerve stretches and stretches for anxiety, and vagus nerve activation exercises/stretches and making a playlist. Watch it and do them along with them every day you can even the ones that repeat. You'll start learning them and making it a habit very easily and quickly. It's the only thing that helps me. I'm trying to avoid a stroke or heat attack and trying to get medical treatment for other conditions and doing what I can in the meantime. Glad to hear you are still with us, Bertie.
@chuck u farlie I'm a covid long hauler it's been 1 1/2 years since I first got sick it's been a long recovery and about 85% better... during the first couple of months I had really bad anxiety that developed along with what was happening which was high heart palpitations and my limbs would get cold this went on for a few months and left me in the ER many times.. doctors wanted to label it anxiety and just give me Xanax but I refused to say that was the main cause as covid leaves wide spectrum of issues.. during this time I read about the vagus nerve and it was interesting.. even to this day I feel a soreness on the back of my head to lower neck.. so just wanted to share and praying for all those going through these types of issues..
@@azboldazalion1938 Good luck to you. Life will get better. There's going to be better days. Every time I think I've had it there always is. Even when it seems there couldn't be.
I do this exercise sitting on a chair with my hands relaxed in my lap. I first turn my head all the way to each side and hold until I yawn. Then, with my face facing forward, I turn my eyes all the way to each side and hold until I yawn. It works.
I have Cushing's disease and this exercise helps reset my nervous system.
Does that work well? I can't get this exercise to work at all.
If you feel like it doesn't work keep at it for at least 2-4 weeks. It may be that your vagus nerve needs THAT MUCH help before it will actually balance. I find people who don't 'get a response' within a few seconds give up on it. Your nervous system may actually need MUCH more than a few seconds for it to balance.
Excellent quick demonstration- straight to the point! 👍🦋

Try using Frankincense essential oil.
I yawned right away! Thank You. God Bless You
It honestly worked! Thanks a lot, it made me yawn and I needed this like you don’t know how bad. I owe ya one . lol
This is amazing, thank you so much.
Thank you! I had Covid a few weeks ago and for some reason I got really bad anxiety and heart palpitations. Finally, I’m feeling a bit better.
thank you for this video dr cheryl! i hope this helps reset the vagal tone towards parasympathetic activity. may i know - so i can inform the people i help - what the mechanism is like or the rationale for how it helps do this? warm regards, peter
Dipping my face in icy water works with vagus nerve reset. At work, ice packs 3 mins each at left and right area behind my ears, does magic.❤❤❤❤
Thank you!! That feels so good!!
Thankyou .straight forward clear .
Thank you so much for sharing this. New sub! ❤️
I want to do this exercise whilst playing guitar, in order to practice in a more sympathetic state. I haven't read stanleys book yet. Might there be any benefit from practicing with the eyes set to their outermost left or right side (in turns of course), or does this exercise only work with the hands behind the head? many thanks
I believe doing the eye movements icw the intertwining of the left & right hand and then placing them behind the head causes the left & right brain hemispheres to (re)connect.
Vagus nerve mediates parasympathetic state so this will do the opposite of sympathetic.
Valuable video! Thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks very good and clear.
I tried doing this last week after watching a different video. I got so much nausea it was awful.
And the next 2 days I had a headache.
Coincidence?
Happened to me too
Thank you! 💐🙏🏻❤️
Can this be used as a fall asleep to help increase heart rate variability?
Thank you for sharing
Are you supposed to feel sensations in your hand? Is there a specific way to position yourself on the floor? Is the sensation at the back of the throat like an itch? I've never done this before and not sure what sensations I'm "supposed" to feel or notice.
How does this exercise actually work to reset the vagus nerve? Thanks
Thanks a lot
Hi dr , i am suffering from dizzenes and high heart beat palpation and unblancing eyes are shaking condition due to vagus nerve or accessory nerve what should i do my routine work are effected badly do i start same excerise or what u suggest .thanks

Have you tried taking vitamin b1?
@@natureswonders7647 what type of b1? what brand? what dosage to start? does one build up the dosage?
Me too! 😞
Thanks a lot 🙏
When you do this lying down do you lie flat or use a pillow?
Will this work, if the Vagus Nerve was damaged during a Parathyroid Operation?
First few times I tried it took about a minute but after practising a week I now yawn within 5 seconds. Is this a good thing or have I Pavlov-ed myself?
Great!!! It's like if a train is off it's tracks and trying to steer back in line...it can be much harder to get the vagus nerve back on track if it's WAY off. The more you do this the easier it is to get back on line - maybe because your body now knows the pathway, and/or maybe because you're not as far off track as you were initially. Great work!!!
Very useful. Thanks Dr
Great
.
🙏🙏
is this supposed to be super difficult bc it is soo tough for me to do
Thanks, one of many good options. Only in the beginning of the video you turn around and leave your mic behind. Hard to follow then.
Thanks for the feedback! much appreciated!
How many times do we need to repeat this exercise in one go just once at a time..one time in morning ..one time in evebing..one time in night?
❤❤❤
🙏 I will try.
Mahalo, th-you much appreciated.
😇
Thank you mem,❤️❤️❤️.
Can’t this bring on dizziness to those prone to it?
I'd love to hear about this if it's your experience. It may depend what the dizziness is caused by. You're not moving your head so positional vertigo from crystals moving inside your ears should not be an issue with this.
Great Muscly Biceps Cheryl 💪
How long does the yawning normally last? What about moderate to severe cases of VN dysregulation?
Will this help if you are suffering fro bowel movement , due to Vagus nerve.
There may be much more going on if the bowel movements are not only related to an anxious feeling. It can help, but it sounds like you may need more support.
Thank you
You should know the optimal dos and donts with this maneuvre....the differentials and hiccups.
How would you know if the stomach Vagus nerve is not working?
Signs of vagal nerve dysfunction can be anything that the vagus nerve innervates (the vagus nerve 'controls') including sensations and functions of.... heart rate, digestion/bowel movements, nausea, reflux/heart burn, dizziness, anything anxiety related really. If you think of symptoms of a 'panic attack' those are typically mostly due to the vagus nerve influence.
I actually assess it in my practice - check he back of your throat. The little "hangy ball" (your uvula) may be more deviated to one side or the other - that is an easy way to assess vagus nerve dysfunction, but it's not 100% reliable.
Love you, Madam.
Did not happen. Only got tired eyes
The same for me.
what exactly is happening in this process, whats the science behind it?
I don't think there is any. It's probably based on polyvagal theory.
only annunaki knows why
this hurts my arms so badly
You can also do it laying down
or cry....
