Yeeeeaaaaah welcome welcome. So happy for your comment. It is our absolute pleasure. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for stopping by ♥️.... Micheal
Hey Micheal, my pleasure! Did you get around to shoot that expansion-focused video in the end? Couldn’t find it on the channel. :/ Also, would be very curious to know how you compare the West Kingdom to the South Tigris series. Thanks 😊
Great review and ranking. I enjoyed watching each of your thoughts on where each game goes in your ranking. I also liked that you each respected each others opinions and that each of you had your own rankings. I've been trying to figure out which one to try first and been watching a lot of reviews and it's interesting how everybody has a completely different ranking of these 3 games. I think I'm going to try architects first. Thanks for the great video. I'm subbing for sure.
Thank you so much for the kind words, and thank you for sharing your rankings, too. I really don;t think you can go wrong with any of these games. They are all great.
I don;t feel like a legit gamer because I have never played any of these games. (kidding). They are certainly atop my list of games to get to the table, though. Thanks for bravely ranking them in public and risking the controversy!
Ha Ha ha, "controversy" is our middle name😆... Oh, no worries about not playing them. There are more than enough games out there to keep us busy for several lifetimes😊
I completely agree with your rankings (#3 Paladins, #2 Architects, and #1 Viscounts). All are great but if I had to save one in a fire, I would grab Viscounts without a second hesitation. I love that even if you pick a certain task to focus on (which is usually the manuscripts for me), you have to pivot based on the cards you draw and the townfolks you can accure. We recently played a game where the first 10-12 cards were all criminals. We really didn't want to use them but if we didn't, we would never see some others. It was an interesting balancing act as virtue dropped quickly and so strategies had to evolve. Viscounts is a crunchy game that, once your group knows how to play, doesn't overstay it's welcome but is always a great time. Great discussion; I'm glad I stumbled on to this video. Thanks!
this is my 1st time watching the nerd shelves, thanks for the comparisons ,watching this i think im going for Viscounts because we love Deck building games, and i think architects might be too light for our group still a good game tho, but still torn between Architects and Viscounts this vid just give Viscounts +1 point :)
I can't speak for Judie, but for me, the expansions make each of these better, but I'd keep them in the same order. Raiders of the North Sea however, the expansions make the game so much better.
@@TheNerdShelves Thank you for your response! I have Architects and Artisans, but keep reading mixed reviews about whether Wonders takes away the fun in its simplicity. Seems like I'll just have to give it a whirl at some point. Looking forward to your guys' thoughts on Wayfarers if/when you guys get around to it. Great channel! :)
i havent played architects yet. i agree paladins is a little samey and some strategies seem stronger. i love viscounts everything about it. all the mechanisms and it has a little take that as well.
I'm curious what you will think of architects after you have played it. It is a brilliant game, just a bit lighter than the others. Thanks for your comment😊
Sorry Judie, I'm right there with Michael. #3 Paladins, Feels like a solo puzzle to me. #2 Architects, Love this game but a bit lighter. #1 Viscounts, Just the right interaction and depth that I love. Now waiting for the Architects expansions to arrive with the big box, and already backed the Viscounts expansions with the big box.
have viscounts and architects, viscounts just takes too long: setup and play. architect was faster to the table even though it felt simpler and straightforward like raiders. But that hit the sweet spot in my game group: not too heavy on the rules, around 60-90 mins, fast gameplay, interactive, not too punishing, but with enough thinkiness to keep the brain cells engaged.. though one thing we want is setup variety which viscounts gives us. Architects has some variety but felt it needed some setup variety, like the leaders expansion for arnak, perhaps the expansions will help. get well judie!!
@@TheNerdShelves yeah if architects was a wee bit more complex that would be the best sweet spot, and if viscounts had 1-2 less things to think about and quicker setup that would be awesome
I love Architect and like it even more with Artisan expansion. I just recently played the artisan expansion. My ranking is Paladins #3 Viscount #2 than Architect #1. These ranking hold without expansions.
Yes, Architects is definitely a solid choice. We will be adding a second video with expansions and we'll see if or opinions change... Thanks for sharing♥️
@@craigandrews7544 Hi Craig, no we haven't done the expansion rankings yet. With regret, we haven't been able to play the Viscounts expansion. Thank you fo rthe reminder though. We will try to find a copy and get it to the table soon.
First time viewer of your channel, and wow, loved this review! Thanks for all the insights and entertaining and respectful dialogue.

Thanks for this presentation. Only recently, I learned and have played “Paladins” twice. Great game! I haven’t played the other two, yet.
Oops, sorry I missed this comment. All of them are great games. Paladins is such a thinky game. I'm curious what you would think about the other two.

Great video! I still haven't played Paladins so I can't rank them all. Of the 2 I played, I prefer Viscounts, but both are solid.
Thank you so much, and yes I agree. Of the two, both are solid, but Viscounts just pips it for me. Thank you so much for your thoughts.
Architects is the only one I've played, and probably the only one I want to play? Anyway, nice hearing both of your thoughts on them!
It is a solid choice. Thanks for watching.
