    Wife and I just started getting into board games. Love Architects! Your back shelf is games we either play or are on our list. But I have to say I have enjoyed your videos. Not only are they informative, but I like the fact that your just a regular guy and the videos come off like you are just talking to your buddies. Keep it up.

      Thanks, and I am very much just a regular guy shooting some videos on his phone in my free time haha

      If you like Architects and worker placement I highly recommend Raiders of Scythia which is basically an updated Raiders of the North Sea and Rajas of the Ganges. Rajas adds in coloured dice as a currency as well as some tile placement/tableau building.
      Lots of other worker placement games out there like Viticulture, Lords of Waterdeep, etc. that are excellent too. Welcome to the addiction, er, hobby.

    I have only played Paladins and I agree it’s a beast to set up. But I love it. I think I enjoy it more than Orleans which feels a bit similar. I backed the recent KS for the expansion and Tomesaga is coming with that as well.

      I need to still check out the tome saga. It is a neat concept for sure.

      We played through the tome saga and it was fun to start with Architects and go through them. The co-op mode is tough and fun. Paladins took like 4 or 5 plays before we really got the engine going and best it co-op.

      @@seth7447 Did you enjoy it more coop or competitive?

    • @seth7447
      @seth7447 3 роки тому

      We did the competitive rune first gaining times and special perks with each game with the final winner determined after Viscounts is done. However, the co-op mode is much tougher because you have to know how the cards work with the actions you take as a set. I like co-op more because it is so challenging that when you finally win you feel like you conquered the world.

    I would rank them for myself Viscounts, Architects, and then Paladins. I agree that all 3 are pretty good games

    A lot of people always criticise the setup for Paladins & Viscounts. For me it is a breeze compared to setting up Eldritch Horror. 🤣 Eldritch was my entry game to board game, so it doesn’t bother me much to setup. However I did find it less tiring if I set up the night before then I play the next day, so it’s just going straight to game on the day.
    I love Paladins the best then Viscounts.

      Pre setting up games does help, unfortunately I hardly ever play with the group at home so that's usually not a viable option. When I'm playing solo though I definitely set up games and/or leave games set up after for a day or two.

      @@TheBoardMeeting same here I hardly play with a group. Mainly play solo especially for the heavier games. So just to make it easier for me I set up the night before then when I wake up the next day I would get straight into it.
      I’m slowly introducing my friends into board gaming still. Although I ❤️ my euros and don’t mind playing solo a lot.
      There were two weekends I just did one weekend all played Paladins. Then the following all Viscounts. Sooo good

    I own architects and it gets played pretty frequently. Haven't pulled the trigger on the others in the series because they seem to be a bit more crunchy and rules dense, which doesn't suit my game group very well. I want them really bad, and I know I would like them, but I generally don't do games solo, so there's currently not much point to getting them.

      They are a really great series of games

      If you still haven’t gotten Viscounts I can’t recommend it enough. The first half of the first game is a little confusing, but everything is so intuitively designed that once you get going it’s a really smooth and fun experience.

    Since you've reviewed these titles, have you gotten to play with the expansions for the games? If so, have your thoughts changed? Thanks!

    • @TheBoardMeeting
      @TheBoardMeeting  Рік тому

      I have played with all the expansions for all of the games. The only expansion that is an auto include is the Age of Artisans expansion for Architects. All the other expansions I say are pretty good but I haven't been including them when I break these games out in recent months.

    • @riverOfWinds

      @@TheBoardMeeting Thank you for your response! Kind of figured Artisans is always included because it just makes the base game that much sweeter.
      Great channel! Your content is fantastic. :)
