My school has two 450ds on 4903-9101s, oh, and it's on a 1970s simplex panel set to continuous alongside a crapload of 2901-9838s on 4903s/2903 strobe plates

The pull station at 0:30, that's the same one we have in our building I live in in my apartment. 4:08 the Simplex 4050-80, Davis School had that when I was in kindergarten. 2:05 the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton has the Simplex 2903, but at Gilmore School where I attended 1-3 grade, was a Simplex 2901-9806 with same strobe.
I have a space age electronics (558H)? horn strobe that has the same grille/speaker as the Simplex 4051 but a different light. Is this model rare or do you know anything about it?
So in terms of raraty, how rare is the spaceage va4 strobe plate with the rb24d horn ?
That Edwards 895B is a beast! I can only imagine how deaf I would be if those were at my elementary school.

I love this system i love the march time there was a broken fire alarm that i heard XD
One alarm that I can simply never find and have only seen pictures of is the Ceiling mount Wheelock NH. Which is the ceiling mount Wheelock NS but with no strobe. This alarm is really rare and nobody seems to notice. I’ve never seen one in the wild before. The only pictures I’ve seen of it are from manuals and not from actual buildings.

That was the first time in your channel that the 450D is used without the VALS strobe.
My old school has a weird system… it’s mostly EST Genesis but some 892s are located variously around the building… When it goes off the Genesis mostly only goes off but the 892 stays off. I only heard the 892 go off once. We also have some ceiling mount spectralerts but they are only located at the preschool room. My current system is Pyrotronic Bells with Simplex 2904s with Wheelock NSs and 9333s on Simplex Strobe plates. There is also one Gentex GMS in the third grade bathroom. And in my camp are MA/SS 24s with a ceiling mount and one outdoor one with a yellowed strobe. At the upper building mostly spectralert classics.

Apparently someone screwed up the school bell, its still going off.
with some of those simplex t bar pulls you don't need to pull it for the system to activate it just needs to be opened with the key. Found that out the hard way when testing/replacing an old fire system in a school.

Take a flathead screwdriver and pry back the tabs on the horn mechanism of your WGMS a tiny bit. It'll help with the raspiness of it. This should work for any device that uses a Faraday series D1 horn mechanism (Federal Signal 450D-D1, GMH/GMS, Siemens/CP/Faraday/Harrington U-HN/U-HNH, Simplex 4901-9805 and 4903 series EM horns, etc).
Where are you that one guy who the old house is your parents house or something? We had all those old fire alarmsand he had like older firealarms in the garage

I know the Edwards 895's are rare, but what is it like with the Edwards 892 and the chances of finding one for sale at a reasonable price of $50-$90?
There's a couple on eBay at the moment, so I'd say the chances are currently 100% xD

Wish you had a Federal Signal 450D C2 where the 2903 is but those are hard asf to get because they are really rare.
Though I believe you cannot take the strobe off the C2 because mine is soldered on

The horn on the Gentex GMS sounds really scratchy and raspy. For system test 26 put a Gentex Commander 3 in your room on code 3 mechanical horn

Great video! I must ask, what lightbulbs did you use on your 4904 lights. I own 3 4903 light plates and 5 4050-80s that all run off 120VAC and would like run them off 24VDC.
Incandescent 24V 5W E10 base.
The base is pretty easy to find on eBay, the lights not so much.
If you want incandescent, you're probably going to have to buy from overseas, LEDs should be easier to get if you're into that, though they wont fade in and out like these do.

Considering you have a home made panel, why does it take a few seconds for the alarms to activate. I’m pretty sure you are just using like relays and stuff like that.
I have a time delay relay that has an adjustable activation time, it's meant to act as a verification system.
The panel that came before this one activated immediately, making it a really nice potential false alarm magnet.
