I know some times it's cool to put a new twist on a classic, but why would you ever change this amazing and signature choreography? I have seen the tour, i have friends on it and it is awesome! Props to Shane Sparks and the team. but there is just something about watching these 4 guys doing this classic choreography that gives me chills. Its so subtle and amazing! Bravo!

@rtcopper You could tell that his voice was exhausted. He was probably over rehearsed and voice just gave out. But he still did his thing.

Obviously this is a much lighter version of the original choreography, designed for those whose dancing isn't their greatest strength. Not taking anything away from these guys who all do a great job worthy of a full production and not just a concert, but the original choreography just has that extra Oomph!, if you will, that makes it soar and makes this number one of the most thrilling on any stage. Take a look at the clip of the original cast performing this at the Imperial Theatre on Broadway. Curtis' moves are definitely much more elaborate and has "dancer" written all over them. One element lost in this version is the style. In the original, there is this flare to it that makes it almost sexy. In fact, it is sexy. May not have been the intention but there is an irresistible masculinity apparent in the way they execute all those fluid steps. Can't describe it. Like music, it's just one of those things that make musicals so unique that can't be conveyed in words.

@jamdobson Yeah, he did his thing. However, I think they should have let the understudy step in to do that number.

I’m not sure the Actors Fund concerts have understudies. They’re usually like a one or two night only thing

This performance lack the beat and bad assery that is needed. There has to be a lot more anger in the moves, more explosive; to show how mad they are about how their music is stolen and distorted by the music industry. This makes me sleep. Get a time machine and watch and listen to the original cast

Why are the Dreams wearing pants? The dresses in Dreamgirls is a character within itself. I can forgive the singing, and I know they didn't have a huge budget, but the Dreams in pants? Automatic thumbs down.
