I have a 4.2 kg female 17 year old black part-Persian cat and a 10kg (and still growing) male white Maine Coon kitten. Yin & Yang cats. Both have been spayed/neutered. They are lovely but have very different personalities. One is clingy, the other very independent. One remains indoors while the other one loves being outdoors. One eats wet food twice daily, whereas the other one insists on a combination of dry food and wet food twice a day. I'm working on reducing the kibble. Both tolerate grooming well, and the rare bath, but the older one is very vocal about disliking her inner legs and belly being brushed. I wouldn't trade them for anything.
My black cat was in two other familys before me and they where not very nice. He needed some time to open up but now he is always on people loves cuddles :D Also strangely he is now 16 and the older he gets the lighter his fur gets now he has spots that are almost brown.
Only 189 cat owners studied, really? And what about different countries? In my experience, Tuxedo and black spotted cats act differently. Why do people think that subservient behavior shows more intelligence than not. Do you think humans who are subservient are smart? Long hair cats can be and often are different from short haired cats in personality. Beware that your Calico cats are very prolific so please get them spayed early. I have had both a diluted (grey instead of black) Calico and Torti which have even more depth to their personality. Anyway, I think studies that are both larger and involve different countries would be more accurate. Every cat has its own personality, just like humans, so take this with a grain of salt.
Don't you trust science ?? it's written in the thumbnail... It's science ! My black and white spotted cat was born early august, which makes her a leo, and you know what science says about leos right ?That she's an entitled little b. which she is ! That's not opinion, that's fact ! It's like that famous science experiment where a bunch of phDs asked 189 people what they thought about their neighbors according to their skin color, and guess what ?
I have a calico... She's the warmest, loveable, love to cuddle kitty. She's always with me when I'm home , sleeps with me.
