Discord was teaching them that they literally don’t need anyone or anything else to solve their predicament.

My theory for Sombra now speaking is that in the revival he lost a lot of his shadow allowing him more self control but making him less, well, dark. Then again he seemed stronger rather than weaker and there's not much room to explain that later on with him being, kinda dead, so it seems. Whyever Grogar didn't reresurrect him, idk.
It is because he in fact is not.. do you thing it is coincidence that Twilight become ruler out of nowhere? She in fact always was crown princes as his doughtier, when sisters are regents until she would be ready. Discord don't even try take whole thing seriously. Also I suspect that Tirek in fact also collaborate, as Twilight is his niece.
Huge Bonus Sin: Longest age of peace? Are you kidding me? Actually, this is worth more than one point. One for the fact that under Celestia's rule, Equestria experienced 1000 years of peace. I mean, it was probably more due to the fact that the writers didn't want to bother writing anything to fill in that 1000 year time gap than anything else, but conveniently enough, nothing major happened in 1000 years of Equestrian history. How is that not the longest age of peace? And yes, extra bonus sin for just how unbelievably convenient that was. A second point goes to the fact that since the mane six have been active, Equestria has been through a lot, so peace is not the word I would use for it. Sure, they fended off various threats, but those threats conveniently coincide with the rise of our heroes, which is just the trope of heroes attracting villains, which lends credibility to the stance of the antagonist of that Glass movie. And yes, that too is convenient and contrived as heck.
I just realized, if Grogar is the father of all monsters. And Discord could be one of those monsters.... Could Grogar one up Tirek, by not just having Discord drained of his magic, but also split into his animal components *not the parts but the whole animals that make him up, like snake, lion, goat, etc*
Did you notice Sombra face when he was saying that? Grogar has triangle talisman known as "bell" (also used by Tirek in the past) what allow him summon Shadow entity (in his time known as Bray), what was one who created monsters and Grogar lost control over them when Gutsy (Celestia) take it. So Grogar was just stilling someone else credit at that point and probably was not aware that someone was in the room (Tirek probably also know that he was full of shit). And yes, Discord is one of them... he in fact is dreadful alicorn ;D
3:14 - that's a good point; where ARE Cozy Glow's parents or guardians? Did she learn her conniving ways from them? Did they try to bring her up right but nothing seemed to work? Did they send her to Twilight's school in a last-ditch hope that the school could straighten her out? Did they have a tragic "accident" after Cozy decided she could do better on her own? And if so, she must surely have some kind of official guardian, whether that pony actually pays much attention to her... unless... do you suppose Cozy could actually be a very small and young-looking adult mare who's only passing for a filly??

Tirek and Chrysalis (especially Tirek) went a little more comedic in S9 compared to their previous appearances. And it was villains interacting with each other, something we’ve always wanted and like to see. And even more hilarious seeing this little child in between all these ancient and powerful villains.
@@cordyceps7531 Finally? I've been seeing comments like that left and right. It would be rushed if all of the villains rushed Canterlot but for now, it was establishing the villains. They had to fit all this info in just 2 episodes though.

Sure. The one princess who actually knows how to do her job with very few problems gets the LEAST amount of time, while the one princess who took up a charity case and decided to let her friends teach a school she didn't even need, instead of getting actual qualified teachers to run the joint, gets the MOST time.
What I really wish would happen in this episode, is if Flurry Heart gets mad that Sombra is being so evil and decides to unleash her magic to fight him, THEN the mane six use their magic to defeat him
okay so....there already was an episode where they didnt get to use the elements of harmony...like wtf...I clearly remember they summoned that magic withough the minerals
If you're talking about Rainbow power, that seems to be a one time thing. This seemed to be proven when they had to use the elements again against the pony of shadows
I noticed Alvin Sanders voice leak through at 9:16 and it blew my mind (specifically the "conquering ponyville") ..also really good point about the tree of harmony spreading, geez !
Y'know... Discord was the one with the power to change reality itself. I'm not suprised that there are few things that can stand up to him. For a kids' show, this has some god level characters in terms of power.
Honestly, until they defeat Sombrero the second time I was with the impression they were still in the nightmare, you know the "false scene were they brake mental control, because lower their defenses, and what is most nightmarish than Hope itself", and that wold fit more:the forest would be a distraction, and with Discord not just solving it, and a bonus that when out the event wold be similar and that put them on edge, especially twilight. But I suppose that was to much to expect. Cool episode thought.
I really don’t like what they did with Sombra’s voice... I mean, it’s amazing that he’s actually talking but for the entire 2-part episode I just couldn’t stand his voice... He sounds like a freakin whiny, spoiled rich kid...kind of like Blueblood from the Season 1 Finale... Why couldn’t they just stick with the scary ominous voice they gave him in the Season 3 premiere? That fits him and his appearance way better than that bratty voice...
Honestly, the first two episodes were really good. And I love that Discord was supporting the idea of Twilight ruling over Equestria! It was proven when he looked disappointed when the princesses told her they’d give her some time.
Speaking of 39: Sombra conveniently forgets he can spawn a limitless supply of anti-magic crystals. That's like if a villain with Kryptonite… left it at home, then attacked Superman with an AK-47 instead.
10:25 Did the Students tell Twilight and the Others about their Encounter with the Tree? Maybe the Tree can’t hold back the Forrest when it has moved to Twilights Castle (therefore being physically further away from the Forrest)?
I felt like this whole episode was kind of anticlimactic as I expected Sombra to be a more fearful villain and the one that plotted this whole plan, but they added a new character instead. Not disappointed but it was not as idk it was okay I guess :/
In fact there are clues that Twilight's father isn't villain at all. Discord don't even try pretend that whole thing was serious, as he in fact was informed what is going one. Just Sombra keep his act before turning sparkly, so he could pop up in the future if needed.
I actually hate the fact that Twilight is back to doubting herself in this episode. In the MLP movie, she was stripped of EVERYTHING. The Princesses, the Elements, her books....even her friends. And it was then that she TRULY understood her role as the Princess of Friendship. She understood her power. Now she's just back to relying on everything again. It weakens her character, I think, for them to do this to her.
moliminous: 10 whole years and they havent changed the 1st song or the intro me: my dude this isn't an anime were they change the song after a season and the intro changes a little bit after a season as well :/
What changed Sombra from hardly talkative Sauron expy to talkative and smug supervillain? Sure he is still the chessmaster and crazy prepared tyrant he was, but it was toned down to the standard MLP villain kind of villain. Wasn't the whole part of not speaking much beyond a few words because he was a no-nonsense enemy who knew not to do the typical defeat by arrogance?
My guess? They were so focused on giving him more personality, they forgot to make sure it was the right personality type. Quality, not quantity. That's our lesson here.
3:16 Took you this long to figure out these "Sins"? I was asking these question at the end of season 8. Also also, there is no need for anyone to move Sun and Moon. Their World isn't ruled by the same law as our Earth. Check alternate season five finale where Nightmare Moon won during season one. All healthy, no one starving.
This episode looks rushed, there's too many things going on at once--come to think of it, what the hell is going on? It's filled with plot holes; filler; and stuff never been resolved--all throughout the whole episode! I'm surprised Sombra can talk now. In the end, nothing was accomplished nor was a single lesson learned.
So Grogar waited until aaaalll evil villains were utterly defeated by 6 ponies? Grogar would have saved alot of his time if he just destroyed the fake element balls episode 1 Or he is actually less powerful than Nightmare Moon and let the ponies defeat her... I dont really know
7:45 The sin I see there: Not taking Starlight with them. She's extremely powerful and capable plus facing of against a dark magician would be the perfect situation to test this but I guess the episode isn't about her but Twilight.
Wait. You're NOT sinning how it makes no sense Sombra could so easily destroy both the Tree and Elements when we've been informed last season that its power has grown? You're also NOT sinning the fact that if the Mane 6 had just remembered their Rainbow Power connection they wouldn't have needed to return the Elements to the Tree, thus not leading Sombra to it in the first place?
Honestly at this point I've learned cannon doesn't exist and role with it. I also had some lines about it but cut it for time. I'll do another video going way more in depth
My guess is it happened too fast for the tree to react. With cozy n chrysalis it had time to register a threat here it was like a thanos snap. It had 0 time to see the attack
Wait! I know it's not exactly my place to say nore do ya have to listen. But i have a theory on king sambras voice. He was still very weak and stuck in that shadow form when he first was on. Maybe that effected his speech
The mane six is literally unfair. And if they were just a little less lucky, they would have lost a thousands of times. So this show should be named not "the magic of friendship", but "the magic of russian roulette with only one empty slot".
You do realize that the castle was made from a box dispensed by the tree and wasn’t the tree itself? And that the tree’s roots “somehow” reach the school? It’s still the same tree and not a completely different one

The one princess who actually knows how to do her job with very few problems gets the LEAST amount of time, while the one princess who took up a charity case and decided to let her friends teach a school she didn't even need, instead of getting actual qualified teachers to run the joint, gets the MOST time.
Exactly! That's really annoying! And I like Twilight!
What I really wish would happen in this episode, is if Flurry Heart gets mad that Sombra is being so evil and decides to unleash her magic to fight him, THEN the mane six use their magic to defeat him
I haven’t seen the episode yet. But due to how often I was laughing and rolling my eyes. I don’t think I will...
okay so....there already was an episode where they didnt get to use the elements of harmony...like wtf...I clearly remember they summoned that magic withough the minerals
If you're talking about Rainbow power, that seems to be a one time thing. This seemed to be proven when they had to use the elements again against the pony of shadows
@@MidnightLucario1 nah
I noticed Alvin Sanders voice leak through at 9:16 and it blew my mind (specifically the "conquering ponyville")
..also really good point about the tree of harmony spreading, geez !
Y'know... Discord was the one with the power to change reality itself. I'm not suprised that there are few things that can stand up to him.
For a kids' show, this has some god level characters in terms of power.
He clearly was acting whole time, though. In fact it is almost like whole thing was another setup..
I wish that when sombra asked bic mac to open the door big mac would had said" yep".
Discord openly hate his half-sister..
Speaking of 39:
Sombra conveniently forgets he can spawn a limitless supply of anti-magic crystals. That's like if a villain with Kryptonite… left it at home, then attacked Superman with an AK-47 instead.
You are right with Luna breaking shards XD.
This is how the writers go through a normal episode based around Twilight. It's literally explained in the episode.
10:25 Did the Students tell Twilight and the Others about their Encounter with the Tree? Maybe the Tree can’t hold back the Forrest when it has moved to Twilights Castle (therefore being physically further away from the Forrest)?
Sombra doesn't reform and become good after all.
Maybe King Sombra needed a friend in order to be reformed. Similar to how Discord was reformed by being friends with Fluttershy.
In comic he was reformed. Just read the siege of crystal empire, it gives Sombra a good arc
When the sins counter goes from 41 to 28 because the ponies are digging
4:29 I think that's a reference to Typhon and Echidna, who were, in Greek Mythology, referred to as the Father and Mother of Monsters, respectively.
That one dislike is Grogar
Chrysalis has the best expressions in existence!
10:43 To borrow from a quote earlier in this episode, "It's cute that they thought that would work..."
If we don't get more Sombra then I shall go full freak on Hasbro!
Lol same
Scroll Keeper That is only if Grogar revives him again. 🤔 But I think Grogar is done with egotistical Sombra. 😂
Think about one more thing - people made a ship Twilight × Sombra. 😯
This is show is done and it’s all about milking the money 💴
They went Adam Taurus with Sombra. At least Umbrum Sombra in the comics was badass and not pathetic.
@@TheRezro true he kept his act but he seemed cocky and not as intimidating as I expected. Nonetheless it's just a cartoon lol
@@dragonlordxxxxx That it is cartoon doesn't mean that it is stupid incoherent mess. It only mean that it can be ;D
Anyone else notice that at 9:53, it goes from 41 to 27?

Yay 😁 been waiting to hear your opinion on the episodes 👍
When he mentioned Burger King foot lettuce I nearly burst out laughing
I actually hate the fact that Twilight is back to doubting herself in this episode. In the MLP movie, she was stripped of EVERYTHING. The Princesses, the Elements, her books....even her friends. And it was then that she TRULY understood her role as the Princess of Friendship. She understood her power. Now she's just back to relying on everything again. It weakens her character, I think, for them to do this to her.
0:24 Have to admit her not teleporting during certain points irked me.
Like when they were trapped by sombra, they didn't NEED to dig.
I though thet they did try, just Sombra inhibit they magic? Teleporation is quite dangerous, so I don't complain when they don't overuse it.
“The elements of harmony are right here!”
- Twilight sparkle, Season 1 Episode 2
6:46 is it just me, or are those guards wearing "Justifier helmets"?
moliminous: 10 whole years and they havent changed the 1st song or the intro
me: my dude this isn't an anime were they change the song after a season and the intro changes a little bit after a season as well :/
What changed Sombra from hardly talkative Sauron expy to talkative and smug supervillain? Sure he is still the chessmaster and crazy prepared tyrant he was, but it was toned down to the standard MLP villain kind of villain. Wasn't the whole part of not speaking much beyond a few words because he was a no-nonsense enemy who knew not to do the typical defeat by arrogance?
My guess? They were so focused on giving him more personality, they forgot to make sure it was the right personality type.
Quality, not quantity. That's our lesson here.
Yeah, and why did he just stand there and wait to get blasted into oblivion instead of leaving like he did the first time?
3:16 Took you this long to figure out these "Sins"? I was asking these question at the end of season 8.
Also also, there is no need for anyone to move Sun and Moon. Their World isn't ruled by the same law as our Earth. Check alternate season five finale where Nightmare Moon won during season one. All healthy, no one starving.
Most of them is still a shit though..
This is how they bring in Grogar?
Discord Is OP.
I’m at the bank doing adult stuff yet watching this
Huge from Israel
Low key roasting the princess 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This episode looks rushed, there's too many things going on at once--come to think of it, what the hell is going on? It's filled with plot holes; filler; and stuff never been resolved--all throughout the whole episode!
I'm surprised Sombra can talk now. In the end, nothing was accomplished nor was a single lesson learned.
So Grogar waited until aaaalll evil villains were utterly defeated by 6 ponies?
Grogar would have saved alot of his time if he just destroyed the fake element balls episode 1
Or he is actually less powerful than Nightmare Moon and let the ponies defeat her...
I dont really know
Grogar did say he only just got powerful enough...he likely wasnt poweful enough during epi 1 season 1
Is it bad that if I was doing this, I would remove a sin every time Cozy Glow is hilarious and/or adorable?
Not only if
@@sheepketchup9059 I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that. Could you explain?
i see you're not a fluttercord...er(?) almost never mentions the shipping scenes
2:56 chrysalis goes full party of one.. best thing ever..
7:45 The sin I see there: Not taking Starlight with them. She's extremely powerful and capable plus facing of against a dark magician would be the perfect situation to test this but I guess the episode isn't about her but Twilight.
Twilight subconsciously act according to a plan..
6:50 Did anyone else notice that when Sombra made the royal family neal, Flurry heart did nothing.
So what's the point of having discord reform if he just going to say you're on your own
It had 0 time to see the attack
chrysalis's "nya" made my day
Grogar somehow brought Sombra back to life, which probably explains why he summoned him.
Tirek didn't do it, lol. Do you even known grogar?
They said in the show grogar did it
@@Doc903 Did I write Tirek? I meant Grogar.
he's a necromancer : that's "somehow" ;)
11:55 Their prolly Shocked that There’s Thousands of them
7:37 U can also hear her voice go from Tara to Kelly when she says that
Endgames looking pretty good
Villains always have the heroes on there knees but then decides to not end it
you wonder why they always lose
That presuming that they really are villains.
You literally pointed out every thought I had while watching this one XD awesome
2:53 when i laugh at my own video
The marks in the floor represent each time Lord Tirek was being annoyed by Cozy Glow
Wait! I know it's not exactly my place to say nore do ya have to listen. But i have a theory on king sambras voice. He was still very weak and stuck in that shadow form when he first was on. Maybe that effected his speech
it hasn't been 10 years. it's only been 8, almost 9
Close enough missy it's been 9 years close enough
@@thotpatroller7892 that's sir to you. also, it hasn't even been 9 years yet
8:15 *Customer Support Voice*: "Have you tried turning it off an on again?"
