I see a profitable business coming out of that if that is the case.

I love how there's a thousand UA-camrs making videos about this $10,000 truck and not a single one of them did enough research on the truck to find out that they are not anywhere near as cheap as $10,000. You would think at least one of the thousands of people making videos about this truck would have done the tiniest amount of research possible to present information on the truck which would have completely changed the video considering it cost twice as much as they are telling everybody it costs.

However, mine comes making 156hp and after I unblock the air filter (there’s a plastic piece that sort of covers the air vent) makes 167hp. This is widely known in Indonesia that the engine makes more than what the manufacturer claims and with simple bolt on can go up to +400hp.

    A 10k brand new truck ?
Yes I want 2 of them.
Sadly, I will have to wait 25 years to obtain even 1.
If only toyota could come up with a "glider" option.
You know, the almost complete truck, with out engine, transmission and interior.
Leaving power plants a special order from toyotas parts division.
3 cylinder turbo, 4 cylinder n/a, smaller v6 n/a, auto trans, manual trans etc...
Interior components from bottom of the barrel and the way up to lexus leather opulance.
    Kit car style.
So that thin profit margin could get much higher.
Granted, the "glider" portion of the kit would still be in that $10k region, but the additional parts could be as cheap as used toyota tacoma all the way up to lexus race components.
Keep in mind that the Indian company Mohindra already sells a "jeep" like 4X4 utv, that can be made street legal in many states...
I think it could be done.
Still far more reasonably priced than modern pick up trucks that are being purchased less often due to insane pricing..

    1. Champ is not available with 4x4
    2. IMV is not the same platform as either of the Hilux models destroyed by Top Gear and WhistlinDiesel
    3. If international market vehicles pass NCAP, ANCAP and JNCAP testing, they should be able to pass NHTSA tests with little or no modifications
    4. Ditto for the EPA and its foreign counterparts
    5. The Tacoma is not a redesigned Hilux, but I do agree it is much softer
    6. Champ is bigger and more powerful than a kei truck. Not the same market niche at all

how this doesnt pass the safety regulations is absurd, but you can drive a tiny 2 door "smart car" on the highway, yep! boomer laws!

It's so dumb. Americans would buy these. Hipsters and tradesman would love them. As someone with a toe in both pools, I would buy one.

I hate all the new technology in cars today. I have a new Outback, and Tacoma and am not impressed with either. I would pay to have a solid small 4x4 truck with no frills, absolute minimal electronics (radio, USB port, AC, speakers) and enough power to pull roughly 6000-7000 lbs.
