Just like you said, Longines dimensions are for lumberjacks or people who like extra desserts. I’ll take the BB Chrono with more reasonable dimensions and the modified Brietling BR01 movement.
@@KC-bv9kf The Black Bay Chrono's size isn't exactly refined either. At around 14.6mm thick (with slab sides) and 50.1mm lug-to-lug, I think both the Tudor and Longines can benefit from some further trimming. Perhaps that will happen down the line, but I do like both watches and think they are well built.
I absolutely freaking love ❤️ this a stunningly gorgeous piece. I have always known of Longines but have never really spotted anything that jumped out until this. This watch truly speaks to me ! Well done Longines, well done indeed : )
Just ordered a blue one on a bracelet. Got a great deal with a trade in for another Spirit Longines, I actually made a hefty increase on the trade in, now have quick release bracelet and a better clasp and a Wolf watch winder thrown in to sweeten the deal. Happy!
Great review. A big step in the right direction for Longines. Sub 15mm height and a $4000 price tag would have sent shock waves across the industry. This one, just misses the mark for me.
Thanks Juan! Agreed on that, people felt the same about the Zulu Time so we’ll see if they’ll introduce something smaller in the future. Just like the Legend Diver for instance
I think the price tag sentiment can be alleviated by buying pre-owned or at least reasonably discounted new, but I definitely think that given the utility aspect of the watch they should have forgone the open caseback to likely shave off some thickness. Having female end links would have been helpful as well.
The industry is lacking a generic thin automatic chronograph movement. Sadly until then we won’t have affordable thin automatic chronograph. Or you can choose to go the modular chronograph route which and ETA 2894 for example, but in that case people complain about the pushers being misaligned with the crown…
A very beautiful watch, but a monster, especially its thickness. Very nice video of it, Aleks, maybe your best. I have their "Heritage" Big Eye which is
Thanks Chris! Appreciate it. I hear you and agree regarding the thickness. But I have great hopes for the brand and think they’ll establish themselves with more reasonable dimensions in this segment in the future. Because the product is good but the packaging could get better.
@@AleksWatches Absolutely. i think Longines have been doing a lot of good things. And I think we are seeing the start of the Group War ('Team Rolex" and Swatch). Tudor is chasing up Omega as they move upmarket and take up where they were. And Longines is moving up to where Tudor has been. Get out the popcorn :)
Thickness and lugs to lugs, ok, nothing changed from this house. A little more and the Tudor bb chrono is thinner and an excellent movement. Next… Great review, though!
Thanks for watching! Tudor is probably their closest ”rival”. If they could slim down their cases a bit I believe they could go head-to-head with Tudor and give them a good match 😎
@@auxillery8998 That would be your opinion. IMO the model I have is just about perfect, for me. And I think a 17mm thick case would be a problem for a lot of potential buyers, certainly anyone who wants to wear it under the cuff of a well fitting dress shirt. That said, there's certainly no lack of variety for watch lovers.
Stars aren’t going anywhere, it’s a part of their design aesthetic going all the way back to the 60’s with the admiral series. Personally I like them- just adds a bit of visual interest to the dial
Great colors, easy to read numerals, nice bracelet - but, I am sorry, I cannot get over the 5 stars on the face. They make the watch look like an AMAZON review. LONGINES used to make wise decisions when it came to design. This is NOT one of them.
Not sure why Longines even released a chrono this thick. It was doomed to failure as soon as the number 17 was revealed. 17mm ain't gonna fly anymore - no pun intended.
I'm fed up with all this big watch...even the caliber is completely lost on this case. It would better to have a descent diameter like 38mm And 13mm in thickness with a manual movement. The watch would be nicer with a finer design.
@@AleksWatches that'll be 15mm. 17mm is an insane monstrosity. Shame on Longines and Swatch group. They have all the technology and tools, knowledge to do better
It’s quite puzzling considering they already have the Big Eye with wearable dimensions. Let’s see how far it will fall in the secondary or grey markets by the end of this year.
How do you like the Spirit Flyback Chronograph?

All so good
Welcome back LONGINES 👏👏👏

Congrats!
It is worth the additional cost to get the titanium version at 124 grams on the bracelet it helps to negate the additional thickness
good review as usual...love what Longines is doing
🙏🏼🙌🏼
It's beautiful.
very good review....love Longines
Thanks!
Nice review and beautiful watch from Longines.
Thanks Amed!

If you buy the Black Dial on bracelet can you also buy the Leather Strap and NATO Strap separately?
Uh, Aco, kida. Svaka cast 🎉
Hvala Milane!

Did you say "applied Roman numerals" ? Only Arabic numbers can be seen on both black and blue variants.
Oops 😬
Decided for a Hydroconquest instead... Nice but too thick and too expensive for me. The looks of the watch btw is awesome!

i like the spirit collection designs, but seems like their watches are meant for big wrists 😅
whats your wrist size?
16,5cm

When did karim benzema start reviewing watches
Saudi not paying good enough so need extra cash from UA-cam…
Beautiful watch but unacceptably thick at 17mm. I have a Zenith flyback chrono with a rotating bezel and display back and it's ~13mm thick.
Doesn't look as good though..

So this in 39mm diameter and 12mm thickness, without the stupid stars & that's a game changer 🤞
Stars are ok imo but yes, 39x12mm would be 🤤

Better get your drawing board out then as they and Tag have both come out at the same size..
I like everything about this, but the size is just a definite no-go. Make this a 39mm, with maximum 13.5m thickness and then we're talking.
I guess the general opinion on this piece is exactly like yours
Would buy one in a second if it was at least 2.5mm thinner

I don't see Roman numerals
Freudian slip

17mm wtf.
