When it comes to States and legal colors for safety lighting, we suggest contacting your States DOT Office.
I never understood why Towing companies don't spec their lightbars with front facing Takedowns and Alleys more often. With all the service calls that they go on front and side scene lighting is just as important as rear scene lighting. Very nice set up.
+Mike L Thank You :) Funny you mention this... The F-550 now sports Nano's on the front bumper and on the head-ache rack sides.
Muito lindo, pena que esse tipo de tecnologia não exista aqui no Brasil. Vocês estão de parabéns.
love the tow trucks. keep them coming.
in New Mexico they cant use red facing forward, but they can have any other colors, facing any direction except red facing forward
In Oregon State we call tow trucks, wreckers, wheel lifts, flatbeds, rollbacks, heavy rescues and rotators "Tow Vehicle". More to the point, Oregon Revised Statute (ORS) 816.280 describes the legal colors of emergency lights that a "Tow Vehicle" may use, in any combination the owner desires. Oregon Revised Statute (ORS) 801.530 defines what is legally considered a "Tow Vehicle" by the state. As the law is written, a pickup truck, fully equipped with Emergency Roadside Service Equipment (jack, fuel can, lockout kit, jumpstart), with company markings can have Red or Amber lights. As the law is written, a fully marked service truck has the same legal rights to these colors as a "Proper" tow truck, under ORS 801.530
Now I believe Stuart has shown 2 of Anderson's trucks. Both were amazing and well lit.
Stuart, do you plan on showcasing anymore tow trucks? We know about 90% of your business is with police or EMS. But we buy lots of your equipment too!
We definitely want to show off more of them :) Just not sure when that might happened. Thanks for watching and providing such an informative comment :)
You can use colors other than amber in many different states.
Texas just for 1 example, ANY vehicle creating a road hazard can use blue lights.
Were Not Equal here in Nebraska any utility vehicle can run blue lights, so many of the security companies have blue/amber light bars
+Were Not Equal in N.C. you better not get caught with anything but amber on your tow truck. Us in Fire And Ems can run red and white all the way around but cops are only ones capable of running blue
+cody ledford crazy how different state laws are ehh. like, selling Marijuana in Colorado makes you a business man. selling Marijuana in Texas lands you in prison for a very long time.
+cody ledford kinda funny, In NJ its opposite. We can have blue/clear/amber for fire/EMS POV's, and police have Red. Just goes to show how our government can't agree on most things, even if they are trivial lol
It honestly just needs to be universal all over the country. Because then traveling state to state it's confusing. Just like there should be an NFPA standard regarding fire dept helmet colors and meanings/rank for each color.
nice my son love this good job mate . keep rolling ..
Very nice video, are strobes slowly being replaced by new mini LED for inside tail lights and headlights etc? I assume the LED are brighter and use less power?
Boy, it's like a mobile slot machine jackpot
where you guys get the camcorder with the wireless mic that connects to the camera thanks alot nice videos that i've seen
Excellent video, thanks to Stewart
ive been trying to find a dually aka a 1 ton pickup to use for towing but even year 2000 trying to find one under 10k is impossible....
@SIRENNET does this Tow Truck have a siren?
Yes, the controller has an electronic Airhorn tone.
nice very nice. makes wish I have not retired so soon.
+John Becker Thank You :) We love this Wrecker :)
Are they allowed to respond with lights and siren in your state?
You would be very wise changing to amber unless your working for the emergency services. However even then some rules may apply RE law enforcement or fire or medical, etc.
ok. im buying a impulse 2000 light bar with all blue lenses would that be legal for any person in Indiana? or would i need to change them to amber?
I am a volunteer firefighter, and I would like to have a setup in my 2012 Challenger. Can you guys help me out?
How much would the freedom light bar with that set up cost
Why different rules in different states? Surely it would be easier to just have one colour?
For reasons as old as the US itself individual states are given significant legislative power and have varying laws about.. well everything. That's likely not going to change. :)
Very nice truck
Same here service truck red and blue in the back ..Amsterdam..
I ask a state trooper and said that I can have red and blue on the side of my service provider truck not a tow truck or flat bed..
In Missouri you can have red and blue w/ sirens if told to by police
I saw on the control panel that the truck had the siren options. Are those disabled or can they still use the siren function?
Glen Swanson The System is set-up for only using the Power Air-horn Tone.
Wait so are red lights legal on tow trucks? I thought amber, green, and white were the only legal lights for non-first responder vehicles. However a few days ago I saw a tow truck with red strobes, I assumed it wasn’t legal
Edit: after checking Michigan law I see tow trucks can have red lights
The lawfully allowed colors vary from state to state. Oregon allows Amber as well as Red. We have some customers that have mentioned seeing Blue used on tow trucks in Texas. Thanks for watching :)
Ok thanks
In the states that allow red or red and blue, it’s because when performing emergency roadside assistance they are considered emergency vehicles and in my state (Missouri)when doing so they are allowed red and blue lights and a siren.
i like it a alot. the only thing i would have done instead of using those Ugly truck style lights up there nest to the bar. make a bracket and mount some whelen 700 or M7 max Stop Turn Tail lights would look slcker
wondering about the price on lightning on these awesome tow truck, for some reason whelen is the best on emergency lights
+ignacio mata If you would like Pricing for the Lighting that was used, please email us at- info@sirennet.com. We'll be glad to assist you with a Quotation for the Parts.

+Cam Smith Unfortunately we're not able to mention what the total Price of the Equipment was when this Truck was configured. If you are interested in a current Price Quotation for configuring a Truck this same way, please email our Sales Team at- info@sirennet.com. Thank You.
The only tone that works on this Rig is the air-horn.
You brake lights on the pylon
Badass rig
the ford f350 like that one built at the kentucky ford plant usa
what is the model of the whelen alley lights inside the freedom bar.
+JAGExecutiveServicesInc The Alley Lights are Part Number: FXALF1D.
SIRENNET what does DOT mean
Drake Dean Department of Transportation
Too bad. Nice video and vehicle!
Colorado tow and snow plow are amber & blue
Again please refer me to this law. I've never heard of such a thing
tow trucks often have overkill light setups due to the fact they spend extencive time in areas ware they need to be seen and often on the side of the road more often then most other emergancy vehicles amber doesent often have the same punch as colors like red and blue do so tow trucks need much more to be noticed not to mention the morons out there on the roads personally i think a well rounded lighting setup such as this (behind that wrecker boom the TA is pretty much useless) key placement of lighting is essential but enouph lighting is also essential its pretty common to see tow trucks with just a partially populated lightbar and thats it every one ive done has fully populated bars as well as an assortment of light heads to make the trucks profile stand out (thats the reasoning behind all them lights kids these arent no cop car ware most lights need to hide) always check with local laws and law enforcement to get the colors and permitted lighting requirements here in canada its only white and amber (amber to rear only)
man tow trucks (aka 1 ton dually with a wrecker) are so expensive... i'm trying to get into the business but nothing less than 10k for something decent..
+SaucySoviet If you are really starting out and don't want to pay a lot, buy a 1/2 ton truck and get a tow bar. It can't tow very heavy loads but it will get your company started! :)
+BoscoVapes I would start out as a road side assistance company. Get a smaller vehicle such as a small SUV or pick up (i.e. Ford Escape or Chevy Colorado). Your expenses will be much cheaper and you will be able to create a customer base. You might also be able to establish contracts that could help you out when you expand into towing. Having an already established company will also help with the banks and give you more financing options when you go and buy a wrecker.
what state did he say this was in?
+Ryan Sanchez Beautiful Portland, Oregon.
White is not an approved color for Tow Trucks in Oregon.
ORS 816.280(1)(b) Tow Warning warning lights may be amber or red.
white is usually considered a shade of amber
@@Commissar0617 Amber is amber, white is white.
not according to the mn state patrol.
SIRENNET, can tow trucks use sirens/ horns in oregon? If so what is the ORS code?
Nick Loberg Tow & Recovery service Vehicles are able to use Air-horn Tones. For ORS code details, we recommend contacting Oregon State Patrol or ODOT.
Red is legal over there?
Well heck, neat
Its cool but looks like its setup like a police car not a tow truck with all those lights regarless of the colors of lights.
They can not respond with lights & sirens.
Screw the lights .could use a better boom
Looks more like a lighting video.
+Kenneth L It is well equipped with Lighting. :)
Please reference this law

Michaelcastro
ok
and the total cost of all the lights on the tow truck is ?
Cam Smith at least 6000
@SIRENNET Does it have sirens?
It has an electronic power Airhorn tone.
@@SIRENNET ok, electronic air-horn, but what about sirens, does it have any of that?
@@robbierenfro7209 Just the Airhorn, the other tones are disabled.
@@SIRENNET oh okay, well is there a way to install a siren in the Wrecker?
@@robbierenfro7209 The Tone settings on the Soundoff controller could be adjusted in the programming and enabled. Do you have this same Controller, or are you generally asking if a Siren can be installed?? Tones like Wail, Yelp, and Piercer maybe restricted... depends on your state and vehicle codes.
