how did you get the yellow and blue ship controls on screen? also isn't their a way to skip the cutscenes at the start of each level? I've looked around online and cant really find any info on either of these and I figure you might know :)
I use the "Input Overlay" plugin for OBS with custom graphics, which you can find in the Speedrun Dot Com resources. You can skip cutscenes after you beat the game, by holding the jump button. Not all cutscenes can be skipped, and they don't count toward your in-game time anyway.
It's basically a slight lift when you're close to the ground (you don't have to get super close, just until you notice the lift). This lets you do small dives for free, which give you a tiny speed boost each time you do it. The result is you can maintain your speed, especially when you're supersonic because the air drag that normally slows you down is reduced.
@@electrollama2127Am I correct in identifying it as the sideways moving trail like the trail of a comet? It is NOT, the two vorteces coming off the back, nor the billowing smoke like coming out of sonic boom; correct? Similar to the effect from clouds that trails upwards instead?
Finally someone explaining grpund effect. I had no idea exacly how runners were staying level like that...

I hit a 42' Time (non Forrest skip). I have trouble to understand the "ground effect"😢
