I have the Avata and it was my favourite drone of all time. I cannot wait for the Avata 2! Hopefully the Goggles will be more comfortable.
I have two Avats’s and love flying them. I will definitely be getting the Avata 2 when it comes out.
Have the original and love it - even with it's challenges. The fact that we can fly normal/sport and then manual/acro with the ability to "hit the brakes" is awesome. No one else can do that I'm aware of with such a robust ecosystem in the overall FPV space (O3 Air units). I'm definitely interested in the new version. I'm mostly hoping that they are working to improve the fit of the goggles as well as the dynamic range to further avoid the need for carrying additional cameras.

As a wizened FPV flyer for the last 8 years, who's transitioned from FPV for fun to FPV for reward, the Avata is extremely good for commercial work. If you need to do fly-thoughs, fly close to people and things, capture excellent footage and want something that just works, the Avata is a great tool. Despite being technically better, the Goggles 2 are not as good as the Goggles V2, although this is of course, very subjective. However, if you want to do proper FPV flying, the Avata is extremely dull and unrewarding to fly and I will always use a traditional 3-5 inch or similar for more dramatic exterior shots or just FPVing for fun. I’ll very probably be chopping in my Avata/Googles V2 for an Avata 2 combo when it arrives. For commercial work, the longer flight times have a big benefit cos I seem to spend lots of time hovering and just waiting for the action to start. Try that with a traditional FPV quad.
Completely agree. The Avata is also a safer choice for someone like me with limited FPV experience. Especially around people and items 😂
all of the arguments for the avata are even better for a real cinewhoop. try having all of this but it doesnt fall out of the sky for no reason periodically
Hey Sean another cool update I love my Avata not sure if I would go for this to be honest but I said that about the Mini 4 Pro /Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3 Pro/Mavic 3 and still ended upgrading - also I hope they allow you to use the currently goggles with it what do you think ?
Hold onto your wallets for 6 months and there'll quite possibly be an Avata 3.
For me, it is the Avata 4 (bird chasing edition) I am waiting for...

I've held out for the Avata2, having the Mini4pro (prev mini3pro) and been using (weather permitting!) the googles v2 and MC2. So this is a must for me, hoping (NEEDING) there is a unit-only option without having to buy 'the kit'. Talks of 360 optical sensors etc are great, as are +battery life. would LOVE a 360 camera option once you are in position as a a by the by. Exciting stuff !!
I've never owned a DJI drone, but this one may finally make me pull the trigger. I love the video you can get with cinewhoops, but am so burnt out on building, tuning, constant firmware updates from multiple components (ELRS, Walksnail VTX, flight controller, etc) that I just gave up. I'm finally to the point where I just want to buy something that works OOTB and will get me shots I need when I need them.

Hi, I'm lookingbat getting the Havata 2 when it comes out. My question is how do you use themgoogles with your glasses? Wouldn't there be light leaking in? Thanks
It works OK. The goggles I showed on screen fit my glasses without any leaks. The newer goggles 2 need a foam addon, which only cost £10. Keep in mind I only fly a couple of batteries at a time, so I am not sure if the comfort would be the same if wore them more etc.
Sean, I do have the original Avata, it’s one of my favorite drones; i always take it to fly whenever i take one of my camera drones. Currently, no plans to get the Avata 2

I definitely can’t see them changing the rules on LOS anytime soon to include AR. I think AR might be more trouble than it is worth anyway depending on how they do it, if it is a merging of the FPV feed and the goggle cameras like having both overlayed and faded then it probably isn’t much use and if the goggle cameras are just a little box in the corner then that probably won’t satisfy the LOS rules even if they allow AR.
I can’t see them making a comparable system to the apple vision either, at least not at this stage. Even if it was like the apple vision then I can see it only being allowed for stabilised flight modes, not manual, since no one flying in manual using the FPV feed is going to look at it LOS when flying, most of their time (if not all) would be spent looking at the FPV feed. At most I think that would be allowed only as a replacement for the more normal DJI drones where you have your phone plugged in or have a screen on the controller.
It would also be strange for DJI to bring in something like this designed to merge FPV flying and LOS flying if it wasn’t legal for people to use it pretty much anywhere in the world.
It would make sense from a situational awareness perspective though, but if you are flying legally you should have a spotter anyway.
Will we be able to buy just the drone itself? I was wondering if the current goggles and controllers that work with the Avata will work with the Avata 2?
I hope so. Would be nice if the mc2 & goggles 2 will bind with it.

5:35 I've had that question and thought repeatedly since they announced the AR (and William Kyle) flew his FPV with the Apple Goggle plus Thingy. That's exactly what i was thinning as it isn't the naked eye. 👁️
I wonder if as the technology improves, the regulations might update as well. Although it is rare the regs change in the positive direction of course 😂
How did I miss this
I have the original Avata & love flying it, especially indoors. But it's a safer drone to fly, because it's hard to damage it. I hit a metal soccer goal at 22 mph. Threw the battery, but it flew okay soon after
Mine has survived a lot as well. Always impressed that it doesn't even scratch up easily. I thought I would be repairing it, but so far nothing.
yeah but if you are flying in manual mode it isnt nearly durable enough. try hitting concrete at 40-60mph, and its a different story.
If I can't fly it solo, i.e., with a screen on the controller, then I won't be buying it, as I can not always guarantee having someone available to spot for me.
Well, as you know, I am working closely with the fire department, and we are actually going to use and buy the Avada mostly for our fire investigation going into buildings that are unstable and possibly in structures that may have people trapped in. This will be something that we may be using for that purpose.

I love my original avata, but my Dyson is sooo much quieter!!..😫😳😃👍
I do own 3 avatas, 1 upgraded with master airscrew propellers and battery buckle, other built into 3,5inch axisflying kit. And the 3rd as a brandnew spear. Also have air 3, mini 4 pro. I will degendly buy it when comes out. The leaks i have heard the flight time is 27min, manualmode about 15min, will have an dji action 4 camera lens and technology in it. Also o can spot tiny cameras on the rear of the drone.. abouve the avata logon and on front sides..behind the gimble, it may have some obstilac avoidense built in. But not the 360. Cos i think curved lenses would get easely scratched or damaged. So flat canera lenses would make more sense when fly indoors or very close to objects that may scratch them. As my experience of flying 900km with avatas. I do crash them time to time and they do take a beating. Have loved that i can easely replace the bottom and upperframe, but hated that the battery edjected or the wire came out of the crash shock. Also destroyed one battery. This one seems so to have it well protected. Also would be inrested if it works with the RC controller or have a new one commong for manualmode. And guess it may come with motioncontroller. From mini 4 pro and air 3, they can be controlled with goggles 2 and integras and MC2, so.. guess so will this one.
I just hope it’s quieter,if so then count me in.

Not to praise them lol but the IDF are using the avata for room clearing. I've seen videos of them where they identify a person, fly the avata upstairs, shell the room the guys in and fly back down.

I sold the original avata because the sound was unbearable. I buy this one instantly if much more quiet
