- I don't know how to even begin describing what I listened to... @JinjerMetalBand literally just eff-worded my mind. As far as first impressions go, this one had a little bit of everything, but I'm convinced that metal has a new goddess.

Yay! Your best reactions are the ones where you are genuinely shocked or surprised. Tatiana is pretty awesome, but so is the rest of the band. I got to see them right before everything was locked down in the back room of a restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio. I jumped on that opportunity because i knew they would blow up, and I wanted to see them in a smaller setting. It was AMAZING, and yes, she sounds like that live!
Welcome to Jinjer and Queen Tatiana (Tati). That was the mellow stuff. She can cover multiple octaves with her growls. She can go almost full bass, then up to a high fry scream. And yeah, she also has this sultry jazz angel clean to throw in. The problem most folks have is they focus on her and ignore the amazing musicianship behind her. They are all immensely talented.
I look forward to seeing more!

BRO!!! More...Jinjer!!! This is seriously the single most underrated band on planet earth. Tatiana clearly steals the show. But you will slowly be more and more blown away by the rest of the band. Top tier playing from all. All self taught, except Vlad (drums) who is only classically trained as a pianist. Learned to play drums so he could join Jinjer, when their original drummer had an accident and became paraplegic. And not to wish harm on anyone, but they all agree that the band really came together and became a family with his addition. Their time signatures change constantly, and are often 5/4, 7/8, 11/8...all kinds of craziness. And they play in drop A tuning. Crazy low. This will rank up there with Ren as most appreciated new (to you) band discoveries...I'd bet my life on it. I seriously can't wait to see you discover more Jinjer.

It's a false-fold scream; basically, the vocal folds that you use when you clear your throat without pitch. It's why she can go from screams straight to smooth voice without any pain or coughing. According to her, it took years to perfect the screams, especially since she was going for deeper screams.
Welcome to Jinjer! I hope to see more of this amazing band on your channel! I would recommend a live in concert video next, either Pit of Consciousness (live in Kiev) or Perennial (live at Wacken 2019) as great next stops on the Jinjer journey. Awesome reaction!

Watching first time Jinjer reactions makes me realize that I clearly overestimated how many people listened to 2004 - 2012 era The Agonist.
Once you get over the shock of Tati, you'll see what awesome musicians the guys are. So progressive. Teacher Teacher next.
I have been a Jinjer fan for about five years now, Tatiana is a world class growler, there are a handful of women in this league, I think Jinjer as a band can be very addictive and much of their music reminds me of a thrill ride. Many of their songs are built on a jazz foundation and the progressive nature of their music makes the Jinjer journey into an adventure.
Tatiana is imho the most versatile metal vocalist in the business. She can go from clean to harsh vocals and back between two words of a verse. At the time the video was recorded she already had 20+ years experience in vocal fry singing.

You're going to love "Who is gonna be the one" live (official video). Also "Perennial" live at Wacken, "Pit of Consciousness" live in Kyiv.
Some of their OMVs not only sound great but are full-on art videos; Jinjer care about all the details. "Wallflower", "Vortex", "I Speak Astronomy" spring to mind.
Worth a look at some of their older stuff too, for example "Outlander" is available with concert video but studio sound, the "failure.color" channel version is best. Jinjer used to be a 5-piece band (they had a rhythm guitarist in the old days).

I have a very strong preference for Jinjer / Tati, but ya, Spiritbox / Courtney are extremely talented.
pausing far too much for me . stop once or twice during the song and do your talking at the end. also, due to the title I thought you were actually blind. overall, disappointing.
